@lamjeri that's a fair point - through having the "Boros is like" part in there kind of specifies who is supposed to die 😀
Of course there are tons of cool decks that annihilate all of the current aggro decks, but then we just get farmed by UW and Esper control. Currently there barely is a solid middle ground between heavy spam control and heavy mindless aggro.
Your renewed excitement about Standard actually got me to reinstall MTG:A a couple of days ago. Now I'm having fun with a blue/white control mill deck. :)

As a fledgling free to player Anvil was one of my first ranked decks that I made because of how cheap it was. Anvil has has a place in my heart ever since and I will heed this call to arms and bring Anvil to the ladder once again.
Not sure if this is mentioned or comes up anywhere, but Krenko's token generation ability doesn't care who controlled the artifact, so it's really good in the mirror. If you're an Anvil gamer facings lots of Anvils, might be worth craftin' for that reason.
I've only been playing limited and watching limited content for the past few months, but I still watch your standard videos to keep up with what's going on. Appreciate the content.

I've been playing a lot of anvil. My favorite may be the vat reanimation varient but thetes no doubt that this sort of midrange shell is the most powerful.

i've been an advocate for anvil since it came out, and as a cat oven jund/rakdos vet...honestly anvil is so much different from cat oven like theres so many different layers to oven where as anvil is like lawl surprise i hurt you i get life i get many creatures!

Holding up the anvil activation until the opponents turn represents two extra points of damage with the Thran due to his “triggers once per turn” clause. That would be four extra points of damage in game one.
Yes, but then the anvil doesn’t create a new 1/1 because that part only triggers on your turn.

5:07 This is one of the things that bothers me about current Standard. The difference between going first or second is MASSIVE with these turn 4 kill aggro decks running amok.
I wish WotC would change it up somehow. Maybe if you go 2nd you can choose to either draw or a card or not draw a card and play 2 lands. Idk. All I know is going 2nd there are some games/matchups that become completely unplayable.
I'd be in favor of giving the person who goes second a free treasure token (or maybe an equivalent token that only creates a color of mana from lands you control). Doesn't ramp you permanently but that one extra mana at a critical moment could be huge.

best of 1 isn't traditional magic and never will be, so they dont really care about the disadvantage of going second. bc in best of three it's less relevant.

Okay, but like, why does everyone hate mono red aggro? I win against them 9/10. I usually have to be screwed over by the shuffler to lose to them. Why is everyone making decks against them? Why is no one making decks against White/Blue control? I have never once won against them and I only seem to go against them. No hate to Covert by any means, I'm just ranting as I'm hard locked out of Diamond (literally by like 1 or 2 wins) right now because of freaking control.
Really depends on what you're running. Each deck has their good and bad match ups.

Calling aggro dead is hilarious ( and you know it) bring this to historic and my grape shot decl will beat it turn 3 lol. Obviously this is Standard, but it is WAAAAY to frail for the version of Golgari ramp i play. Rakdos is my favorite of all time, but its honestly weak on arena.
