I always had an emotional attachment to the original Final Fantasy VII from when I was a child, then I got to start playing the original again as an adult in preparation for the Remake Series. Playing through Remake & Rebirth so far bring back so many great memories and getting to play through scenes albeit reimagined like this are all kinds of lovely! And there've been quite a few tears.
I think one of the best parts about this is how Loren sounds like Aerith, at least enough to not make you think someone else took over vocals, literally a once in a lifetime casting right here

And btw she reassures him he has no promises to keep (the opposite of Tifa basically), as she already told him in the dream Remake when he said « I’m coming for you » and her to answer « if that what you WANT… thank you ». At the end of Rebirth, he also says « I will stop Sephiroth » and her to respond « Promise ?? » as a joke « Promise » he smiles.
Came back here after witnessing this on Chapter 12. I really cried 2AM in the morning, because of this scene. This is just purely magical. The emotions the song brought out of us players, especially we have invested in the characters and in the story. FF7 Rebirth is just on a whole 'nother level. Square Enix, thank you for this game! The remake of FF7 was truly worth the wait and I can't wait to finish the FF7Rebirth and for the final installment of this game.

RIP Aerith. Just (finally) got through the end of Rebirth last night. The hurt 20+ years ago when I first played it and even though I knew the story, of course, losing her was still rough. My wife, who only periodically watched segments of the game, teared up at her death and the ending (emotional) scene, even.
I recently replayed this game after finishing it once and my heart fucking broke once I heard _"At our place"._ By this point, she KNEW what was coming.
I just finished the game and it's absolutely heartbreaking. Aerith's final words to Cloud and his team when they flew off to Sephiroth Location is so sad that it makes me cry. This song has been in my head for two days now... And now we have to wait until 2027/2028 for part 3

This made me smile with tears of joy. Knowing that this is one of the little things for the characters to enjoy, before the climactic moment of the game.
And to think the BBC apparently turned this song down for Olly Alexander. Loren could have got a potential Eurovision win with this, guaranteed top 5 at least. The FF7 Rebirth momentum would have pushed this along big time too.

This song Aerith wrote is for Cloud, how they met in the street and how it changed her life.
And btw she reassures him he has no promises to keep (the opposite of Tifa basically), as she already told him in the dream Remake when he said « I’m coming for you » and her to answer « if that what you WANT… thank you ».
At the end of Rebirth, he also says « I will stop Sephiroth » and her to respond « Promise ?? » as a joke « Promise » he smiles.

Came back here after witnessing this on Chapter 12. I really cried 2AM in the morning, because of this scene. This is just purely magical. The emotions the song brought out of us players, especially we have invested in the characters and in the story. FF7 Rebirth is just on a whole 'nother level. Square Enix, thank you for this game! The remake of FF7 was truly worth the wait and I can't wait to finish the FF7Rebirth and for the final installment of this game.

So many emotions in this song. Seeing Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge, presumably from the life stream is heart breaking, but the impact of Aerith breaking down after the song is hard to put into words.

I fell in love with this song even more since Nojima confirmed It's about Elymra, Zack, Cloud, Tifa, her real mom, and other people she cares about. So so so touching that she hopes she can be with the people who enhanced her life.
Jessie, Wedge and Biggs showing up also makes alot more sense now 🥲 Along with Aerith's speech at cosmo canyon. The essence of Aerith's character has always been about the planet, its people and the destiny of her carrying those burdens. She has so much love for everyone and those she cherishes ❤
He confirmed nothing. Only that his Japanese lyrics leave room for interpretation and the possibility for Aerith to sing about other people. In the end, the final song is interpreted by 99% of the people as a love song between two people, whether some people like it or not.

RIP Aerith. Just (finally) got through the end of Rebirth last night. The hurt 20+ years ago when I first played it and even though I knew the story, of course, losing her was still rough. My wife, who only periodically watched segments of the game, teared up at her death and the ending (emotional) scene, even.
This made me cry. Holy fuck. I just played it and im still crying. This hit me right in the feels

I just finished the game and it's absolutely heartbreaking. Aerith's final words to Cloud and his team when they flew off to Sephiroth Location is so sad that it makes me cry. This song has been in my head for two days now... And now we have to wait until 2027/2028 for part 3

Tifa and Cloud only hold hands when you get her as your date but when you have the others they won't hold hands. Also Aerith always plays Princess Rosa if you got Aerith or the other members as a date.

This made me smile with tears of joy. Knowing that this is one of the little things for the characters to enjoy, before the climactic moment of the game.
And to think the BBC apparently turned this song down for Olly Alexander. Loren could have got a potential Eurovision win with this, guaranteed top 5 at least. The FF7 Rebirth momentum would have pushed this along big time too.
