I'm struggling with this issue now, and it's so frustrating. Sometimes I just want to cry. I really hesitate to buzz my head, as I have big ears and don't look good "bald." You are blessed to look so good with a buzzed head! I will take what I've learned here and try to apply it next time around. I wish I could afford a Milano human hair baseball cap wig. I'll have to save my pennies. Thank you, sweet girl, for taking the time to put this series together. You have found your calling! Please take good care of yourself, Denise. Love, prayers, and peace to you. ♥️🙏✝️
Thank you so much, Jackie!! I may have found a more affordable option for a human hair hat wig... stay tuned for more info on this (I haven't gotten it yet and am VERY far behind on reviews due to the loss of my Dad but am eager to get back to a normal schedule soon)., HUGS!
You know? We are pretty judgmental with our self….i am sure you look beautiful but just not use to it…I cut my hair very very short…I have a little more than “fus” and just leave that so I can a clip my wigs on something 🥰🥰🥰don’t cut your hair if you are not ready…take your time and do it when ready ❤❤❤
Thank you Denise for your tutorials!! I have stage 4 cancer and just started wearing wigs. I have purchased a few cheap wigs to experiment with before buying a higher quality of wig. So happy I found your channel 😊 I'm struggling with the haircombs attached to my wigs. Thanks again!!😊❤
Denise, you are such a blessing! Thank you for all your efforts to help your “wig sisters.” I have hair loss from radiation last year. It’s my third round with hair loss since 2007 and feel that this time will be different as far as regrowth. My biggest frustration is that there aren’t wig salons nearby in my Delaware area and purchasing online is difficult. In any case I am figuring it out but I really appreciate you and feel like you are a good friend even though we have never met. God bless you!
You have been an absolute God send to me. Been watching your IG for a while but recently moved over here for more help. Your videos, and especially your corresponding blog posts, make this journey so much less scary to me. Thank you. Beyond measure, truly.
Thank you for sharing your expertise! As a new wig wearer, you just "don't know, what you don't know". I break a nervous sweat every time I put a wig on because I have no real clue how to do it. This gives me some confidence!
You will get there, I promise!! I felt the EXACT same way, truly. Now I look back and wish I could hug the new wig wearing me and promise her it would be easier, but since I can't I will do that for you. HUGS!!! 🥰
You look adorable in Shane! You are blessed to be able to look good in all lengths, curly and straight, blonde and brunette. I seriously started wearing wigs in 12/20 and have worn a wig all day, every day since then. Even though this is a "new" wig wearer series I have watched and learned something with each video. You are definitely my go to wig reviewer and I just love you to pieces. Thank you so much for all you do for your wig sisters! You briefly mentioned the helper hair subscription. I hadn't heard of that before! I would love to see an opening of one of your boxes. I paused the video when I heard you say that and looked it up. What a great service and product. I'm going to subscribe.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I needed this so much! I have actually been really scared trying to get it on. I’ve tried practicing but I still struggle with it. I wanted to wear mine in a high ponytail and I told them that before I purchased it. I was assured I could. Well, I have yet to be able to do that. I’m not going to lie, I’m disappointed. And thank you for showing that you buzzed your hair underneath. I was debating on whether to do that or not and I think I am going to. I just discovered you today so now I have to go catch up on your other videos. Thank you so much!

Wish I had known all this at the beginning of my wig journey. You are such a big help with so many tips and I appreciate your honesty. When I saw you on another video with no makeup and buzzed hair I was very surprised because I had only seen on and off camera, just as you said. You are the real deal and I adore you!!!
I commented in your previous video regarding the four finger method and described a better (in my opinion) way of locating where your hairline should begin. On most people the scalp skin does not wrinkle but the forehead skin does. The point where the two meet is where your scalp begins.
Thank you! Today, I just got the Relax wig (largely based on your review) in the mail. I'm afraid it'll fall off, yet I move around, and it stays. So I like your advice that it doesn't have to be really tight on.
Thank you Denise! Another great learning experience! I'm laughing at myself tho because I thought your backdrop was a wall hanging decoration of some sort. Then you went to grab a WIG off the wall!! Gayle, you're an idiot! Hahahahahahaha Anyway, thanks so much for being so so helpful. You're awesome.
LOL, No you are not, I thought the same, said to myself:: Interesting wall decor, maybe fake fur our some handmade piece from wayfair, lol, then I realize they were wigs, lol
"Wig caps wanna fly off my head"...oh, that is so true for me, too. I do have bio hair and every cap I've tried wants to fly off my soft slick hair. I'd love to be able to wear one to hold up my medium long hair. I wear a velvet wig grip will all my wigs & toppers and it works fine. I think I've seen a wig grip with a cap attached...I'll have to check it out. Good info, DS. Thx. P.S. I've never worn a wig w/o a wig grip, I don't know how you do it, DS, and feel comfortable it's not gonna fly off. I'll have to try it someday...or not. 😵💫
Great video Denise. May I make a suggestion for a very simple tape.....Hollywood fashion secrets tape. I buy the 2 sided invisible strips, perfect for lace fronts. Amazon has a great price for a 3 pack.
Denise... I am learning so much from you and it is also very great to see how different wigs look on you... It is helpful to me even though we don't look at all alike, I just see how a wig can change your entire look. It can really be fun, I can see, to do this kind of exploring your look... I am so excited to get the wig I ordered today inspired by you... So... now... this video will be helping me even more. It is going to be hard to wait for my first wigs to arrive... Yes, it is hard not to order and I have now ordered two human hair and one synthetic and pray they will work for me. I am going to have to stop eating to be able to pay for them...
Please remember that it can be very challenging at first.... wigs always look extremely weird the first few times, not like you expect. That is normal and common, please don't panic! It can take time to get used to it, wear it around the house for up to a week before you pass full judgement on it.... if the return policy is shorter than that put it on multiple times a day for a few days and see if things change. Selfies can help as well, mirror just give a different perspective for some reason.... now I see the wig the same in the mirror as in a selfie but that wasn't the case in the beginning.
Thank you so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge. I know all too well how the internal furnace will just crank up! I never wish for time to go by too fast but I am ready for the furnace to slow down a bit.
Thank you. I've learned so much from this. On to the wig tape video so that I can enjoy our pool. I didn't even know that you could wear a wig in the pool. We have salt water so no chlorine and I should end up with lots of volume. 👍
Oh Denise, you have provided me with so much information. Thank you 🙏 this is so helpful. I feel your sweat issues…. been there and so happy I have passed through that phase and you will too!🥵 Loving this series. Thanks, again.🤗
I'm with you - nothing but a few dabs of roll on adhesive. I could never have worn wigs when I still had my bio hair - my hairline was so low they would have looked ridiculous. As my hair has receded all round it means I can now choose my own hairline which is pretty neat! I always take my wigs off starting at the back. Funny how these habits form.

Thank you so much for all your help. Could you please show how long down besides or right over the ear the lace front is placed. I am afraid the wig I got is too big. I think it goes down besides the ears. Do you think it is the wrong size or is it just because I feel the lace should be tighter than actually is the case. PS. This is my first wig since I have used toppers but I am baldng more and more and unfortunately that is not a possibility anymore. That is scary because I thought I had found the best solution ever. I dont have wig grips yet. But I ordered some. It shold arrive soon :)
What wig did you get? Lace fronts are all different lengths.... some are only about 3 inches long and barely frame the forehead, and some go all the way behind the ear and need to adhered. I suspect you got one of those... and that type of lace is usually loose and works best if glued down. Most of the wigs that I review and have experience with have lace that only comes down as far as the temple or top of the ear tab so this would not be an issue. I am just now looking into wigs with lace that goes over the ears so I can learn how to work with those.
Hi, Jodi! I am going through some old comments that I missed and saw this one. I think there are pros and cons to buzzing our hair. It depends on what benefit you gain from keeping your bio hair and what struggles you have and which is a stronger pull. I have a whole series on my journey with buzzing my hair. This was my final update where I share the pros and cons that I found during the 10 months I lived with my buzzed hair: th-cam.com/video/uopxuonCH7s/w-d-xo.html . I will say that this video was filmed over 2 years ago and I still buzz my hair regularly to this day so having buzzed hair had many more pros than cons for me.
Denise, in the collage photo that pops up as the image with this video you are wearing a brown, straight bob in the bottom row. Could you tell me what color and brand that is? I'm having a hard time finding the right brown for me.
I have heard that before... some people have to experiment with different ones until they find one that works... they are not all made the same. Have you tried a silicone one?

This was my final update where I share the pros and cons that I found during the 10 months I lived with my buzzed hair: th-cam.com/video/uopxuonCH7s/w-d-xo.html . I will say that this video was filmed over 2 years ago and I still buzz my hair regularly to this day so having buzzed hair had many more pros than cons for me.
Denise, in the collage photo that pops up as the image with this video you are wearing a brown, straight bob in the bottom row. Could you tell me what color and brand that is? I'm having a hard time finding the right brown for me.
That is actually Estetica Jamison in Chocolate Smoke... here is the video I did on it: th-cam.com/video/OCoPYamQbGs/w-d-xo.html
Who makes this one?
Very nice

I love your information. I have worn wigs for years and really still am not sure what I’m doing!!!!! Lol
I just can not wear a wig grip. It just slips off.
I have heard that before... some people have to experiment with different ones until they find one that works... they are not all made the same. Have you tried a silicone one?
