- This is why you gotta keep the servers online for old games, imagine if I was able to join a lobby and complain about Mass Effect plot holes with other human players.

THE CORPORATION wasn't the true villain? This game sure broke barriers back in the day.
Maybe THE CORPORATION was the friends we made along the way
more like shilled
@@amadeusagripino6862 haha funny and original 😒
@@visassess8607 oh you're one of *those* people...
IT BROKE NEW GROUNDDDDDDD
Holy shit, General Blueguy is voiced by the guy who voiced Ulysses in New Vegas!
I recognized him the second he said “We share the same scars, the same blood,” and I half expected him to prattle on about the Bear and the Bull!
Wow! They put the guy from PS AllStars in another game with Star in the title!
He's going to be my Starfield character.
Is he the STAR CITIZEN?
He is the star player

Bro i absolutely loved this game I can my express how much I miss it
5:25 "But you can't break the-" RULES OF NATUUURRREEEE
The single player was mediocre but I had the joy of playing this game in its closed multiplayer testing for 6 months leading up to its official release and beyond.
When you were in the middle of a competitive 32 player CTF match with base building and vehicles roaming across the map, it was one of the most unique experiences in a multiplayer shooter ever.
I loved starhawk, I grew up playing the pvp
Owned and played it before. Forgotten about it to be honest
Gotta respekt the OG Tower Defens Bloons TD.
6:52 Kinda surprised you didn't Weezer-riff with "This is for Jonas".
I played this game so much in my childhood, it was so golden I can’t even explain my joy🥹
If anyone remembers xXDeadShotXxv that was me eVs and Boys clan
Bro would love lost planet it got the grapple hook, and da corporation
Oh sheesh. I remember getting access to this beta through a code when you pre ordered…twisted metal? Killzone 3? Not sure which one. Never actually bought it, seemed fun at the time.
loved warhawk too much and while this wasn't at that level for me it was still p cool
This game was the shit!! I was sad it never took off
I remember playing this on ps3 lmao
unironically post reaper mass-effect would be based imagine matriarch liara though
This and Warhawk were some genuinely great multiplayer games
And Hawken.
Hell. Yes.
I miss those days, hell even MAG was fun when you’d land a good server
Warhawk was my childhood bro
@@Ozymanzak MAG was badass man!!! I was never any good at it but I wish there was something like it
Really proud of your restraint in not making a "THE DEAD SPEAK" joke during that Mass Effect bit.
Obeshoe is great at reviewing games I read about once in an article back in 2009.
Wait, the main character, a black man, is named Emmett. And his wife is named Tilley? Emmett Till? That's what they went with?
Yeah where were they going with that? Bizarre
Oh no
Ohhhhh noooooo
genius
Da helll man
Who? That doesn't ring a be- "was an African American teenaged boy who was abducted, tortured, and lynched in Mississippi in 1955 after being accused of offending a white woman, Carolyn Bryant, in her family's grocery store."
Oh
The ability to deploy turrets, a character who has weird blue markings on their arm, Halo inspired driving, and Oboe complaining about the endless deserts and happy to get away from them? I guess you could say Oboe was bored-a-lands.
Don't you just love it when Oboe makes a fun video on some obscure shooter that you've never heard of?
I rediscovered weapons of fate from oboe, I used to play it with my brother but the name was lost in my memory. Found out about it again from oboe!
Starhawk was pretty big back in its heyday
@@arturaraujo73 I actually remember it being sold out in my town, one of the first games I ordered online.
Hell Yea
@@lonesurvivor8828 I need a remaster of Starhawk.
Starhawk sounds like a video game title from an early 2000s Disney Channel original movie in which the main character invites his friends over to his house in the suburb that's about to be demolished to make way for a new shopping mall. They're then woken up early in the morning to the sounds of construction after an all-nighter playing Starhawk, and they then decide enough is enough.
Complete with loads of references to the main character (low moment; "billy think! What would main character do!?") BIG REVEAL STARHAWK WAS REAL THE WHOLE TIME AND HELPS THE KIDS TAKE DOWN THE COWBOY HAT WEARING TEXAS OIL BARON
I'm happy Obo is finally feeling comfortable enough to let us know he's a big musical theater guy!
This is actually my favorite game of all time. I haven't been able to find another shooter/RTS hybrid game since.
same i wish they made a updated version of this game or atleast i wish someone else made a game like this
My favorite multiplayer of all time as well. I still cannot believe they haven't rebooted or even remastered this for PS5, it would look insane. I really miss spending countless hours everyday playing online. There will never be another game like this
All these years later and this game still stands as one of my favorite multiplayer experiences.
This game's brilliant concept of a Shooter/RTS hybrid could only truly shine in a multiplayer setting.
I especially enjoyed the capture the flag mode, where 32 players would run around creating whole damn bases around their flag positions, fortifying it with bunkers, surrounded by wall-mounted turrets, covered by sniper towers, protected by force fields and anti-aircraft guns below them. And building your own base was kinda fun on its own, but going inside of the enemy base and getting back alive was a whole another experience. Very enjoyable gameplay.
Imagine how such a game concept would look on the current generation of consoles/
They honestly should make another one or reboot heck I'll take a remaster even
Starhawk was in many ways ahead of it's time. I would love to see a remastered version of it released for PS5 & Steam. Also they should also undo CTF update that made it so you can cap the flag while your flag is in the enemy hands.
@@theDemolisher13
Agreed.
How has he played all these 2000s-2010 shooters without playing Resistance Fall of Man?
Prayers answered
I remember playing this game's demo on the ps3, good times
I absolutley love this game. Space cowboys are so cool, and the build stuff was so cool
I remember playing Warhawk SO MUCH. The expansions added so much. The flying carrier/apc
One of the best multiplayer experience I’ve ever had. Hope there’s a reboot or something similar at some point.
I remember reading articles about this game and thinking that it's integration with Warhawk was so cool.
I regret not getting this game in its day, it actually looks good. It was not a popular game at all, but I used to play Warhawk a lot in the early days of PSN
This was one of the biggest games my dad ever played and really enjoyed. I'll always have good memories of it simply because of that.
This multiplayer game was great! It’s supposed to become playable again really soon. (Like Warhawk was brought back from the dead). Starhawks servers were shut down in 2018. When it starts up again, I’ll be first in line to jump on a sidewinder!
How does Oboe find so many games that I have never heard of in my life lol
"The Game about Space Cowboys who Pilot Mechs"
is this the Titanfall before Titanfall?
Shogo M.A.D
I still have my copy. the multi-player was really solid. Used to play it all day.
Killing stuff in cutscenes when you are not supposed to is one of the funniest things ever.
there's a little known game called Chrome and in one of the missions, a jeep comes to pick you up in a cutscene, but you can stand in its way before the cutscene starts, and then the cutscene shows you getting ran over and you loose
Me when video 😱
😱
😱
I wish this game made a comeback...
Starhawk was an amazing game that got absolutely trashed by games media and practically dropped by it's publishers and developers. I put so many hours on to this game
im dying (REAL), my last wish is oboe's gameplay of mercenaries 2 world in flames
Idk if you've played it already. But you should try fracture
I miss Starhawk. Game bombed so hard when it came out. I am also still salty because Wargawk for the PS3 never came out with a campaign even though they showed it on E3 2006.... you could fight flying battleships and aircraft carriers. Looked amazing
I used to LOVE this game glad to see someone playing it
Good God , a WFCybertron, a Warhawk AND a dead space reference altogether …
So this is the multiverse 🥺
building defensive structures in a shooter is pretty cool, reminds me of ETQW
I really miss this game iv spent over 2,500 into this game it was my all time favorite back on ps3
Gotta respect the Bloons reference tho
I genuinely loved this game
if this game (multiplayer) was remastered, it would blow every shooter out of the water
Too much singing, really killed the flow of the review, gonna have to unsubscribe for now until you show some professional improvement
My favourite multiplayer of all time
This was a banger game btw, good memories.
Me and my best friend have very fond memories of the starhawk multiplayer when we were younger. Thank you for playing it
This game was awesome the best part is the robot turning in a jet and fighting they need to make a new multiplayer game that has that type of robot
The beta to this game was the first multiplayer game I ever played and god it was fantastic
How did I not know about the Buttery Winthrops
It’s incredible
This game never get old, classic gem 💎 👌
you brought back memories, I used to play the heck out of this game when I was 10-12, I wish this game had a remaster, such a fun game dogfights in the hawks were my favourite.
This is like the original helldivers 2
Starhawk was good, but perhaps before it’s time… it did a lot… but I didn’t feel like it knew what it wanted to be…because it tried to do a lot…. A lot… and not well, but just enough to win our hearts, and possibly intrigue us with the future of its potential.
Fun fact: the multiplayer was buy separately. Also the campaign supposedly didn’t train you for multiplayer at all, as people would just drop pods on your defenses.
That’s not true.
man games did kind of experiment pretty often, they just often failed sadly. Slap a better aesthetic on this game (the 2d cut scenes are really good, the big sand maps are not) and this would be p good
Lol I remember a dlc code I got with Twisted Metal ps3 for a skin for this game. Sadly it went unused.
I wish we had more games like Warhawk and Starhawk or at least continued them. I grew up playing the hell out of the multiplayer before call of duty and battlefield.
I have no problem switching between xbox and ps, the real issue is those assholes at nintendo. To me it's more problematic to have the same letters as xbox but inverted, not to mention the position for actions in game is inverted too.
I remember back on Christmas Day 2011 an ad of this game came with my copy of Uncharted 3
If we're doing PS3 games now then I nominate the Killzone and Resistance series of games.
Starhawk was the sequel to Warhawk, which was a fairly fun multiplayer game on PS3 towards the beginning I think. I remember being so hyped for Starhawk because it had building. I also liked the main character and the concept just seemed similar to Warhawk. It was these massive battles where you could crew vehicles and .. I mean, it's just like any big team battle game. I don't know what happened with Starhawk though. It jkinda dropped off.
Extremely underrated game
This is the only game I begged my mom to preorder. My friend and I spent so many hours in split screen online
The Multiplayer was so awesome
*Oboe looks outside *. Fresh off the line 2012 Ford Focus in the driveway.
dude this game and warhawk multiplayer were SO good!!
The multiplayer on this game was awesome
Here is The Buttery Winthrops song link: th-cam.com/video/TII-tNEs1EY/w-d-xo.html
I miss this game, the multiplayer was one of my favorites
i was ranked #1 in world in the multiplayer leaderboards of this game. Perphectionist-
I was in top 50. Maybe even top 30 for a while.
this game was amazing. Yes it's mainly multiplayer and it was great
Isn't this that abes odyssey spin off?
This is the game I always saw for 5$ at EB games but never purchased
This game...looks great!
🤓 umm akshually there is gravity is space
You should play Lost Planet.
Alien Planet mech tps with ORANGE blood space oil.
First two games high-key slap
my wife works with the butter cow lol
YESSSSSSS I FOUND ITT😆😆 When i was little i used to play this on my brothers ps3. I thought it was just a dream, i looked for this for about 2 years
This game is honestly not that great, it's just something Sony made to try to replicate the success of games like TF2 from Steam. I even regret buying my PS3 because of it. The problem is that even the single-player campaign is short and boring.
interesting concept but really needs a lot of work also I think I know this guy from PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale ( remember that smash knockoff)
You said StarHawk was fun.. I was gonna hit like. Then… You started.. Singing. Alright.. I guess I still will. 😒 The story mode was terrible. It was all about the Multiplayer at the time. Best Jet pack I’ve played with in a game still to today. I think everyone is better when they get the blue out of them
I miss this game. The only other 3rd Person Base Builder game I remember was The Outfit.
This game was so good in it's beta, everybody would work together to build up sick bases and would try to raid each other. Then they gave the airship a shield destroying bomb and then that's all anyone would do.
I remember getting this game about a year before the servers closed and I was so hyped to play the mp but my internet was so shitty I couldn't connect or finish a game once it connected so I just stopped trying to play it, but I have been playing the campaign recently
I grew up playing this, i loved both warhawk and starhawk. Sad they got shut down.
This seems like the kind of generic video game you would see people playing in a movie because the producers didn't want to deal with the copyright issues of having them play something more recognizable like COD or halo.
THE OG Fartnite imo :-) but only Greater!!!
