I have the Neo Flex which I have been using for 3 months, with the pressure gauge. Great product but I have broken a component already due to the large amounts of plastic used. After all it is a cheap product. Has me hooked on Flair Espresso as a brand and manual lever machines. Would love to buy this 58x, just waiting if someone releases a UK discount code as it's out of my budget for now. Great review, thanks!
Hi, normally for a darker roast we would suggest using a shallower basket. however with the way the showerhead / diffuser screen works on the Flair 58, we can kind of ignore this and go for a more omni-basket. That way, if you want to play around with roasts that are more medium or even an overdosed light, you can! At the moment I prefer E&B Labs (IMS) over VST for competition filters - a bit more affordable and the nanocoating makes for real easy knocking - so a good omni would be the 16/18g : www.maxicoffee.com/en-gb/h24-ridgeless-filter-basket-1618g-nanotechnological-coating-p-40540.html . Have fun!
This machine is so fun. I probably went through 20 pounds of coffee when I first got it trying new recipes.
That's probably our favourite part, try out new recipes and find the perfect one 😉

The Flair 58X is a great coffee maker. If you wait a little bit longer, you will have nice discount on our website during Black Friday 😉
Hi Phil, may I please ask what basket you would recommend for dark roasted coffee beans, as you say the supplied baskets are sub-optimal?
