This Week’s Happy Hour Special: Apple Butter Mocktail
Find the original recipe here.
Ingredients:
• 1 ounce apple juice
• 2 tablespoons of apple butter
• Dash of non-alcoholic orange bitters
• Juice of 1/2 lemon
• Ginger beer
• Coarse cinnamon sugar and simple syrup, for rimming
• Thinly sliced apples and a cinnamon stick, to garnish
Instructions: Pour some simple syrup on a plate and some coarse cinnamon sugar on another. Then, dip the rim of your cocktail glass into the syrup and then into the sugar, twisting to coat, before adding ice cubes to the glass.
Combine the apple juice, apple butter, lemon juice and bitters in a cocktail shaker and give it a dry shake (in other words, a shake without ice). Shake vigorously until properly combined then strain the mixture into your prepared cocktail glass. Top up with ginger beer and garnish with a cinnamon stick and apple slice on the rim to serve.
Pull up a chair to the happy hour you wish your friends were having. Mix two money experts with some hot takes and a splash of nostalgia, and you get Rachel Cruze and George Kamel talking unfiltered about what’s going on in the world, pop culture, and how to afford a life you love.

The worst scam was that one in the Victorian era where the guy was selling land in the new world that didn’t exist and all those people sailed there to the jungle and died.
I'm glad the community is backing George (for the most part) Dave said in an interview with the iced coffee hour that if he begins to spout nonsense then he needs to retire. I don't think he needs to retire but needs to at the very least apologize to George.
Where is this video
@@jonathananderson4531 look up the iced coffee hour with Graham. It's one of his most recent videos and it has Dave on the cover title screen thingy.
What?
I think Dave owes George and Rachel an apology for his outburst about 3% vs 8%. George made a reasonable argument and Dave also made a somewhat reasonable argument (although I think George's argument is better supported by the evidence), and he absolutely had the right to disagree. However, I was disappointed to see him demean George (who in my opinion is tied with Rachel as the kindest and least confrontational personality). Props to Rachel for pushing back, but even with his daughter calling him out Dave kept going. I love you Dave and you've done an immense amount of good for people, but in this situation you were wrong and you need to publicly apologize to George and your daughter.
Do you remember what episode it was?
CORN... I read the comments and didn't find it anywhere BUT in the year 300 AD there was no corn in the old world. The ship didn't have a cargo of corn, bad example. Love the show.
My 6&7 year old laughed out loud at "dumb money sad hour" hahaha 🤣🤣🤦🏼♀️ my 7 year old now wants this mocktail and said it can fit in the budget because it's only 1.55! 🍹
George! You missed the perfect opportunity when Rachel asked how you would sink a ship. You should've responded with "loose lips!" 😉
I was a teenager, maybe 13, (when we still had phone books)and a man called the house and he wanted my father to help him regain his rightful role as PM of Canada. He had an elaborate story about how he was going to have my father jailed if he didn’t help out.
I called my dad crying. I totally fell for it
This man was known to police and was ultimately harmless.
Rachel: AD means “year of our Lord” in Latin 😂
Sincerely, a nerdy Catholic
Thank you for telling people this. Especially the younger people who need to know these things.
Came to the comments to say this 😂 Hilarious! Yes every year after this birth is the year of our lord!
Anno Domini - taken from “anno Domini nostri Jesu Christi”, which means, “in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
@@eandrgoodwin Still awestruck how Time is literally referenced Before Christ (BC) or after Christ's Birth (AD) yet people want to change both meanings, denying that creation and time is always with respect to Christmas Day. ✨♥️✨ A Glorious fact that no one can change 👏👏👏
Also, Jesus isn’t dead. He’s alive.
19:12 _"I don't know why you're throwing me under the bus"_
_"That's how we do it in this company."_
I'm glad George wasn't fired for the 3% withdrawal rate thing...
He is definitely one of my favorites
I love George and I love Dave, but Dave was totally out of line with his words and tone
He would have gone out on his own and had a huge following, George is great, he’d always land on his feet.
But I would miss him on this show.
We don't know yet, he's hanging by a thread! ( oДo)
@@fsmoura he’d be fine
Still watching and learning every week.
I’ve been a Ramsey follower and promoter for a decade now but I have a real bad taste in my mouth after the way Dave treated George recently, totally uncalled for and incredibly childish…I hope there’s a public apology somewhere and I just haven’t seen it yet. Unfortunately it gives a glimpse into what it must be like working at Ramsey Solutions…I will never stop watching Smart Money Happy Hour though! You’re the best, George!
What happened??
@@brittydoes4865it was on the November 2 live show “you can’t win with money if you don’t know where your money is”, you can check the comments for the time stamp.
Want to provide any context for the rest of us?
@@TheJLMDTI shared a video in the comments for context. IM feeling like it’s not as big of a deal as the original comment is making it to be. Dave got worked up but had no context on George’s video.
@@TheSilverLining22I can’t find it, the comment thread on this video?
You guys rock! Love listening ❤
Great episode! Love you guys! ❤
Another good show! Nice to see Rachel, George and Jade on Fox this am.
Love these 2!
I cracked up at George's *Al* (Allan) at mention of *A. I.*! 😂😂😂😂
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 love y’all and love this show!!
I totally prefer George over Dave! Dave is too rude to people.
Love telestrations !!!! Great game for all ages!
Love these guys ❤
We have watched the David Spade Show- Snake Oil- it’s very entertaining! It’s hard to tell which is which because they all seem ridiculously crazy! Love y’all! I look forward to Thursdays!
Great episode 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I don’t usually comment about this show’s relationship to Dave Ramsey. I know I’m in the minority here, but I’m not a fan of Dave and don’t usually associate with anything he supports. However, George’s TH-cam short content started coming up on my feed and I enjoyed what he had to say. Then I saw his content with Caleb Hammer who I also watch. That led me here. That’s when I realized he was associated with Ramsey. I gave this show a chance anyway because of George. I even started to like Rachel after realizing her Ramsey affiliation (we can’t be blamed for our parents… lol.) All that to say I think they both come across as genuine people who want to help others be more educated with their finances. A lot less judgmental than Dave and seem less out to sell products than Dave does.
364 day return! 😂 I love stories, loved this episode ❤️
You should try caramel apple sangria next. I had one at a restaurant last week. Omg so good. I'm making KY own later after I get ingredients from the store!
George would understand running the ship into a cliff if he would have watched The Princess Bride, because of the Cliffs of Insanity! Watch the movie already George!!!! It’s a classic!!!
Inconceivable!
What we love out Nectar mattress have had ours for a few years now and love it.
19:11 _"I don't know why you're throwing me under the bus."_

Sometimes stuff happens that IS too good to be true.
The mother of a good friend of mine sold her house with 12 Apartments in it for 500k. can't imagine how happy the buyer must have been
We live in Germany and house with 3 apartments costs 400-700k (Depending on your area it is way pricier but this is the range for her area). His son was furious once he found out tho.
That drink sounds similar to one that my sister makes that thanksgiving. It has apple chunks floating in it and she adds brandy it is very good!
Still haven’t been able to find a “Walmarts” to buy Telestrations at, Rachel…
When I was 18 or so I got into those penny envelope scams. Send your penny to people on this list and then they send you a penny back blah blah blah. 😅
I never got any pennies back 😢 I think I sent out $0.10 😅
For the mattress companies, they bake the risk and cost of returns into the cost of the mattress, so you are sort of paying for it anyways, whether you use it or not.
Why is it always about boats? First it was purchasing boats and now boats into cliffs, haha
Haven't finished the episode. But the guy from the first story of fraud with the Bugatti is from my town lol. I knew as soon as she said Bugatti that it was about him. How funny!
Is there a repository/website of all the mocktails and drinks y'all make on the show?
My Aunt fell for the "your grandson is in jail and you need to send bail money" scam.
I bought a teddy bear to help the police department from a very believable phone call. Later there was a newspaper article stating the police weren't selling teddy bears. Very sad, because now I wont give any person money. Only contribute through legitimate channels.
Just to let you know, in the top bar you have "Home", "Videos", "Shorts" and "Community" or at least it goes something like that.
I used to go into Dave Ramsey highlights and find the videos to watch there and then I would click on the "Channels" button and go to the "Smart money happy hour", Georges channel etc.
Well, that button is gone. I can no longer find the channels related to the Dave ramsey channel. I am not sure if this was a move by your youtube people or maybe TH-cam no longer lets you put the links to your other channels in your page.
What it does mean is I will not be able to just click on the channels button and select from all of the related Dave Ramsey channels I liked before.
Weird.
Oh, and I am using Firefox so not sure if that makes a difference.
The fraudacity.
This is not only interesting but it is amazing how smart the scammer can be. Being able to defend oneself is important. But how?
Can y’all make a recipe book and sell on Ramsey for the drinks??
Great episode! But there was corn in Greece in 300 AD. But sometimes grain is translated as corn in English as a general term for grain. Anyway, I am not sure but I don’t believe Hegestratos was shipping maize type corn. Not that it matters to the story or that’s even technically what the show meant, I just thought I would mention it in case anyone else was confused and looked it up. 😅
Yes you’re correct corn meant “grain” it was not actual maize. Same when we talk about corn laws in Regency England. Not actual maize just corn meaning grains.
Specially, with all these delivery jobs, people lie about not getting their packages or their groceries or their fast food deliveries. They don’t care that this could cost someone their job.
15:16, Bobby Orr of the Boston Bruins had a “friend” that was his agent and stole all his money. Orr was offered to be part owner of the Boston Bruins, but his agent did not tell him and just said “Boston gave you nothing,” so he played for Chicago untill his knees gave out.
Rachel is such a jewel…
Umm, don’t know how to tell you this, but “the OG Ponzi schemer” was Charles Ponzi… Bernie Madoff was just the encore.
George have you seen the new
Honda Motocompacto?
Dave apologize to you yet george?
I better guilty as charged question would’ve been a personal story if George or Rachel’s ever got scammed 😮
17:04 I read about this years ago. Francisco Franco jailed many enemies, one of whom just happened to own lots of property throughout Europe.
I’m a few mins late. Have timeshares come up already?
Rachel lovvvvvves an MLM 😂
Can someone explain this video of Dave getting mad at George. There’s literally no context on what happened. When it happened. Where is the video?
Same here, I am confused…
A caller on the Ramsey show mention that George said three to 4% withdrawal and Dave was a little surprised to say the least
Or sometime in the past week I don't know which day
November 2nd show
How do they have corn in Greece at that time. Corn is native to the Americas.
AD is Latin for “in the year of our Lord”
I knew “Nigerian prince” will definitely be counted😅. I’m a Nigerian by the way.
"In the year of Our LORD" means AD, anytime after Christ's birth x
Watch "The Spanish Prisoner" - a Steve Martin movie from the 90s. NOT a comedy - a good Hitchcock-style suspense movie about a scammer.
... now "Hedge" as in Hedge Fund.
The games were fun, but it was too easy knowing that only one is a scam and the other is real. In the real world, everyting loke this has great potential to be a scam.
I feel like selling knockoffs products but claiming they are the original, is more like the snake oil story.
Right after Ukraine war started, I fell for a "help Ukraine" scam. I live in Romania, so it was impossible to see who is really in trouble and who is trying to benefit. Sometimes, beyond scams Ukrainians were trashing people's places who let them in to help, or demanded better conditions when they were offered some old family property in the countryside to stay there until they want to. So sad.
The returned mattress was probably sold to another cheap customer for a happy sum
I think they donate returned mattresses to charity.
I think they donate returned mattresses to charity.
Sorry George, returning mattresses and vacuum cleaners is gross
Not the mattress, that's literally their advertisement. "Try our super-expensive mattress risk free for a year and if you don't love it, we'll pick it up!" So he did.
My poor 20 year old daughter was scammed through a virtual job in 2019. She got the admin asst job, did various research for a week. Was told she's doing a great job. Week 2, person going out of country and needed her to cash a $2000 check, received 3 days later, meanwhile my daughter wired $1500 for airline ticket return. It was a scam.
But the alarm dumbbell is a real product so they both win. 🎉
Lol fraudasity!
Get a purple mattress George for you and your wife. There the best.
We have one! Love it!
Sorry but in your game of which is real, the alarm dumbbell alarm clock does exist!
Like, where did all the money donated to BLM go?
X
I am first🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hi First
Yay!!!!!
There’s no such thing as a “little white” lie. We have to stop saying ridiculous things
This is insufferable...
Mocktails cause she’s pregnant? He he
They have mocktails all the time
Boy that Rachel is dim wit? Not sure why they call it “smart” money hour.
😂 Dave is a silly goose 🪿 George keep up the good work
Ok I can't watch you guys anymore while I'm weight training. I've dropped the weights at least 3 times bc I was laughing so hard. 🤣🤣💪🏼🤘🏼🫶🏼
