This Week’s Happy Hour Special:
Black Tea Sour
• 2 ounces chilled black tea
• 3/4 ounce lemon juice
• 1/2 ounce maple syrup
• Dash of black pepper
• 1 egg white
• Maraschino cherries (to garnish)
• Orange slice (to garnish)
In a cocktail shaker, combine all of the ingredients except ice and shake well. Add ice and shake again. Pour through a fine strainer into a chilled coupe glass.

The first one about expensive price tags and roaming around! My husband and I found ourselves accidentally in the (much more) expensive of the two restaurants in the same building (no wonder why there was no wait!). When we were seated and given the menu, we looked at each other and thought nope! I quickly pulled out my phone like I got an emergency call that required us to leave immediately. We’ve never regretted that decision.
On our honeymoon we went to a restaurant that the guide book called “moderately priced”. Our eyes about popped out when we saw the prices. My husband said, “We can stay, but tomorrow we’re eating at the Krystal across the street.” 🤣
I do that too, see high prices immediately walk outside pretending I’m on my phone and start talking on it with nobody, stay outside for one minute so they can see me I’m on a phone call then leave away quickly 🏃🏻😂😂😂😂
George’s comment about an item being $50 with free shipping so he’ll buy it but not if it’s $40 with $10 shipping made me laugh. It’s the word FREE so you think you are getting a deal/bonus.
I am dangerous in a Dollar Tree. "Meh, it's only a $1.25!" and then when I check out, it is like $40. Woops. I went in there to pick up 3 items only to leave with a lot more, plus the buyers remorse. Ugh.

My toxic trait is that buying food is not spending money because you need to eat. It's hereditary 😅
I don't do "split the bill." If we go out with friends, then everyone (or each couple) pays for own food. If we get a appetizer thats shared, then maybe we will pay for it if we ordered it. Most good servers will ask how the check will be split when they come take the orders.
when i go out with my other single friends we always get our own checks. Sometimes 1 of us will get an appetizer and let others share. We love it
A toxic trait is to treat money differently if it comes from a different source. So earned money is budgeted carefully while the ten bucks you find on the street is spent on twinkies.
It was not until a few years back heard of splitting the bill evenly. I have always done separate checks.
It's been a thing for decades. There's a Friends episode about it from 1995. I hate it lol
8:04 - I went into a men's store in Kansas City and saw a nice Polo only to see that the price was well over $300. I left as quickly as possible and had to bite my tongue to keep from asking if it came with a free car!
Toxically splitting the bill is when you order 2 apps, a 40$ steak, 2 double tall mixed drinks, and a dessert while the other one got a 10$ salad and a water. If the separate bills are probably within 10$ of eachother and we shared appetizers then I dont have a problem splitting the bill like what rachel says.
How is the best way to protect your Debit card from fraudluent use, years ago I used a debit card to only have my bank account I used for expenses get wiped out do to a hacking and had no support from my bank, this happened twice to me and from that point I used credit cards but to your point spend more with the credit card than I should, I am very nervous to use a debit card again but if I was to use a debit card I would keep limited funds. ?? Great show and material, I enjoyed this very much.

My toxic money trait is using every last drop of my shampoo & conditioner (to the point where my husband has to use all his muscle to slam the bottle contents into his hands for me). It has to be bone dry for me to buy more or open the last container lol, but I’ll buy every pair of jeans in sight 😂😂👀
Priorities
I do this, but add water to make it easier to come out 😂
We get around that by having separate bottles. Then after he tosses his into the trash, I fish it out and get the last out.
I cut open the bottle to get every last drop 😂

As a person who spent time in the banking industry, I hate the idea of using a debit card for everything. If a person wants to do this, please set up a separate account because every time you have a breach, your direct deposit and auto debits gets messed up as you have to close and open accounts. I do think there is a huge advantage to watching the balance on a bank account go down verses watching the balance go up with a credit card. So much of what we do is "how we spin it" watching a balance go down triggers scarcity and I think that is a good thing.
Good advice. My primary bank, I have no cards at all. Fortunately my bank doesn't automatically send me a card, I have to ask for one, so having no cards assigned to my account makes me sleep a little bit more easy. I have a debit card with a completely different bank with limited funds. I know my primary can still be breached, just 1 thing less to worry about.
That wasn’t true for me.. both a commercial bank and a credit union. Both replaced money immediately and I didn’t have to open/close account or cards.
@@kathylewis6611 that is good to know. Some do not use your account as part of your debit card. One should verify though.
I had to close my checking account at a credit union due to my purse being stolen and the credit union set my ‘new’ account up based on the new and higher required bank balance if I didn’t want monthly bank fees. I am required to keep a lot more in my accounts now.
