Thank you Rob and Alexa! I really enjoyed this and loved hearing about the journey you have taken. You have given me lots of ideas and thank you for the encouragement! Thank you Rob,Alexa and Peanut ❤
Great interview, Rob! Thanks for introducing me to Alexa. Great content with super useful tips and advice for new content creators such as myself. Keep up the good work!
This was a great format Rob! I am fascinated with this dialogue and hope you find more "real people" to chat with. You did a great job. I could tell you were super nervous at the beginning (but that's because I've been watching you for 4 years now).
Hello Robi just found you today from another video. This is a Great interview . I’m a Business and Financial Coach just getting into Digital Marketing. I’m doing videos the way she said. I started with saying I’m NEW to Digital Marketing this is my Journey, follow along as I share what I’m learning. It’s so true that people who are a few months behind me or even some who started before but are struggling find my content helpful.
I want to start a channel someday, but I'm so busy at work, 12 hour days, up to 36 days straight without a break! But I'm winding down now, it's going to be a future endeavour, I'm watching and learning.
Yes, it sounds like you're probably too busy right now to completely dive in... just try to learn what you can in the time that you have, and when you're ready, you'll have at least a basic knowledge of how it all works and what you want to do :-)
@@RobtheMaritimer I'm in British Columbia, working, but I am returning to Nova Scotia, the beautiful province, and I will learn more so I can actually start. I may go see you someday, I'll be your special guest!!
This is great and actually gives me hope that this could work for... me... it might be messy at first but I guess I just need to start.... with the craziness of the holidays so you recommend I wait until January or try to post my first video before the end of the year?
It really makes no difference to TH-cam when you start... so I'd say, "whenever you're ready" :-) Try not to think of it as something you have to continue at a fast pace once you start... you can totally start by posting a video or 2 or 3 or however many... and if you need to take a break for the holidays and pick it back up after, that's totally fine. Best of luck with it!
Hello Rob and Alexa. Alexa, what’s funny is I too look at myself when making my videos, but from my phone. Question I have is when uploading videos is it okay to do so from TH-cam app on my phone? Or do I need to do so from TH-cam Studio from a computer? It’s been about 1 month for me. Thank you so much for this interview.
@@RobtheMaritimer thank you. A content creator stated when videos are NOT uploaded from the TH-cam Studio small chance to grow audience. So it is okay to upload from phone from TH-cam so and not TH-cam Studio. Thank you!
From what I've been hearing, that's what typically happens... watch hours tend to take longer to reach for most. Hosting live streams is a great way to boost watch hours!
Sorry. I watched your videos out of order! I just left a comment on your most recent video suggesting maybe you do some interviews with other creators and then this 1 popped up LOOL
That's great!! Just keep at it and you'll get there soon... probably only a couple weeks away based on how fast you got to 740 subs! Best of luck to you :-)
I thought I had! Looks like the link wasn't working... I jus fixed it, the link to her TH-cam channel in the description... looks like it's working now. Sorry about that, and thanks for pointing that out! :-)
Thank you for the new format ! Interesting 😊

After monetization I would focus on retention and engagement stats instead views and hours. 😉 In case you care about strategy and optimization.
Good points! Thanks for commenting :-)
I love that you address burnout....
That's something you have to be mindful of... it can creep up on you :-)
I really like your idea of creating a community.❤❤❤

You do not need to use a computer... you can upload videos to your channel directly from your phone using the youtube app :-)

Alexa, tell us about your TH-cam journey ❤
Alexa tells us all about it in this episode :)
Interesting! I hit my subscribers first, then watch hours. Thanks for sharing. 💙 ~Carol Amato

Haha no problem! Episode 2 will be this coming Monday where I'll be chatting with Kevin Kolbe, another "over 40 youtuber" :-)
Yes the journey is all so different for all of us. I’m in my week 12 and just hit 4000h last night, but I’m still short 260 subs 😂.
That's great!! Just keep at it and you'll get there soon... probably only a couple weeks away based on how fast you got to 740 subs! Best of luck to you :-)
Hi Rob, maybe you can link to Alexa's LinkedIn, her group, or at least her TH-cam channel for us.
I thought I had! Looks like the link wasn't working... I jus fixed it, the link to her TH-cam channel in the description... looks like it's working now. Sorry about that, and thanks for pointing that out! :-)
