Yep, Port Ormos is great, it’s certainly popular and I really like it but it tends to overshadow my personal favorite Sumeru town theme haha. “Village surrounded by green” is more chill and a different vibe but is so nice to listen to. Also I HAVE to recommend one of my favorite songs from Genshin “The Caress of Three Mothers/Maidens of Sanctity” (2 different versions of the same song) those nearly brought me to tears just from the music alone which is EXTREMELY rare for me. So I hope you enjoy them!
You can try listening to the night version of Port Ormos (it's called End of the Feast) and compare the two! The slower sitar is very soothing. Same melody yet different feels ❤
Didn't expect to see the Melusine village OST get a reaction this early on but it's a welcomed surprise. Melusines have to be the cutest fictional race and the village OST matches the cuteness overload that can be found there. Quick lore summary on them from the wiki. Around 400 years ago, the Marechaussee Hunters and members of the Narzissenkreuz Ordo battled inside the remnants of the great beast Elynas. During this battle, "someone" caused an explosion, killing many and causing the mechanical components of clockwork meka to pierce through Elynas's body. The Melusines were eventually born from these wounds, with the components becoming "tokens" associated with each Melusine. Elynas's consciousness regarded the Melusines as his own daughters, teaching them how to establish a home - Merusea Village - and enabling them to grow and live happily within his own remains. As time passed on, the Melusines could no longer hear Elynas's voice, and by the start of the game's events, only Mamere could hear him. After Mamere met and befriended the Traveler, she could no longer hear his voice. According to Mamere, all Melusines are born possessing special mementos known as "tokens." These are mechanical components inscribed with runes, and can seemingly be used to interact with and repair Clockwork Meka such as Seymour, who recognizes Mamere's token as his lost "artificed clockwork relay module." The Melusines would live inside Elynas's body until they met Neuvillette, who brought them outside to the rest of Fontaine. Fontanians were hesitant to accept Melusines into their society at the time, believing them to be creatures of calamity due to an increase in "strange incidents," coupled with Neuvillette having just been appointed as the Iudex. Carole was one of the few Melusines to venture outside Merusea Village, but she sacrificed herself to prove her innocence after being lured and framed by hardliners who opposed Neuvillette's reforms. Following her sacrifice and the subsequent trial of Vautrin, in which he feigned anger to prove Neuvillette's impartiality and fairness, people began to trust both the Iudex and the Melusines. Neuvillette helped pass a law declaring that all Melusines are to be addressed with she/her pronouns rather than it/its and harsh punishments were imposed for anyone who treated them as monsters. By the events of the game, essentially every Fontanian is willing to protect a Melusine from danger, as exemplified during Neuvillette's Story Quest.
Like a lot of people, anytime I stop by port ormos and this track plays I often sit back and let it play out all the way. It just has that effect. If we're talking more recommendations, I'd still love to hear what you think of Dvalin and Andrius' boss themes (Caelistinum Finale Termini for the former and Whirl of Boreal Wind+Symphony of Boreal Wind for the latter) *but* if you're interested in something from the desert portion of Sumeru, one of my personal favourites is Smoldering Glow. It's not very long, but it encapsulates how the desert feels really well for me.
I'll definitely have to look into the Andrius theme and Smoldering Glow as they sound really interesting. With the Dvalin theme you're in luck :D I'll be posting it here in about an hour and a half.
The Port Ormos theme is my favourite from Sumeru! I can’t help but jam out every time I hear it, no matter how many times I hear it! Sumeru OST recommendations: For Riddles, For Wonders Across Dimming Asterisms God-Devouring Mania Village Surrounded by Green A Fontaine recommendation that would be a little different than the OSTs above as there is a live music video and animated video of it is La Vaguelette :)
yeah the Melusine village theme is pretty cute... until you get the context soo... their village... well it is inside the body of the great beast Elynas who is the mother of the Melusines So you hear this theme when you are inside the carcass of an abyssal dragon that is the size of an island
I recommend Unfinished Frescoes (this one is kinda short) and Decayed in the Darkness Both are melancholic, but I love their melodies a lot. Both are connected to the places with ruins of lost civilizations
Dragonspine and chasm are definitely some of my favourites. Moonlike smile and fragile fantasy are my favs from Dragonspine. The lore there is awesome, too.
I would love to see your reactions to two more environmental themes: The theme that plays in the Eternal Oasis called "Her Wishes" and the theme that plays in the Vourukasha Oasis called "Maidens of Sanctity". Both hauntingly beautiful pieces.
I'm so happy you did Melody of Merusea. I suggested it to you in a comment a few videos ago. Typing Melody of Merusea into a TH-cam search only brings up a couple extended versions and the original song, so you may be the first person to ever react! Port Ormos is definitely a fan favorite. It's kind of distracting in a way, anytime the game takes me to Port Ormos, I have a hard time concentrating on anything because I just want to listen to the music.
Hopefully you'll listen to inevitable conflict at some point. Duel in the mist and lamentation et triomphe have awesome music videos, so that would also be cool.
Since you started reacting to Genshin's non-battle themes and ambient music, I wanted to mention that Genshin currently has around 1,200 tracks, and it's still going (with about 300-400 new tracks added each year). While I wouldn't say every piece is a masterpiece, I think it's fair to say that each one is unique. That's quite a long journey, take your time.
Instrument for hustle and bustle theme of post ormos 1:08 Tabla(indian Percussion) 1:10 Dholak(indian Percussion) 1:16 Left ear Santur(Iranian dulcimer) 1:15 Bansuri (indian flute) 1:35 Sitar(india) 3:49, 3:55 Tanpura (india) drone sound Also other instrument Oud(Arab) Saz(Turkish) Riq (arab percussion) Kanjira(indian Percussion) Caxixi(african shaker percussion) There was music video for this ost u should have seen that 3:16 Timestamp me so i tell? Sitar, Santur or is it flute 7:15 Yep ost is for melusine village in Fontaine which is hydro nation (justice) Sumeru theme is Wisdom and dendro nation
Hustle and Bustle of Ormos is my favorite theme from Sumeru. The other theme that’s from Fontaine I haven’t heard it as I’m still doing that part of the game
If I may recommend more Genshin tunes: "Jolts in the Forest", "Across the Dimming Asterisms", and "Mountainborn Gale". All the boss themes you've heard so far are weekly boss themes (the stronger bosses that you can only challenge once per week), and don't get me wrong, they are amazing and rightfully recommended :D But regular overworld boss themes are no slouches either, so here they are.
All these albums are full of scattered gold, and I feel privileged to be able to see you absorb them :D The second one is actually associated with the Melusines in Fontaine, and it fittingly sounds warm. Edit: The first song magically involves three Indian instruments: Sitar, Bansuri, Tabla
Frist time I went to Port Ormos I put aside my controller and heard the music to the end ... then I return to play.

All of the soundtracks inside Elynas are super nice. They all feel comfy somehow, even if in drastically different ways.
The drums from the Port Ormos theme are called the Tabla. It's an Indian instrument.
Outside of combat, most of the music in Genshin doesn't loop. The whole song will play, then a bit of silence, and then a different track will play.
That's awesome! I guess i just expected it would loop because that's the standard but variety is always good.
Both these are absolutely beautiful. They are both town tunes, as Merusea Village is an undersea village.
