  • Trooper's Narrative:
I Corporal Shane Alkire #198 was notified at approximately 1910 of a stolen vehicle with a suicidal juvenile fleeing in a vehicle
north on Highway 71 from Alma. As I was in route Officer Brandon Williamson was able to locate the vehicle and initiated a
pursuit North on Hwy 71. The vehicle crashed into a guardrail on US 71 with the drivers side of the vehicle and continued
    North.
As I caught up to Officer Williamson and the fleeing vehicle at approximately 1931. I took over as the lead vehicle. We
reached speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour and the suspect vehicle was traveling into oncoming traffic to pass other
    vehicles.
I was able to employ a “Tactical Vehicle Intervention”(TVI) technique to stop the vehicle at approximately 1939. The
suspect traveled off the roadway impacting a telephone pole (number 114527), the Prius was attempting to continue to travel
back onto US 71 but I was able to use tactical vehicle intervention to stop the vehicle to continue. The vehicle made impact
with a speed limit sign and the vehicle came to a stop.
The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Crawford County sheriff’s
office. EMS did arrive on scene and cleared the Operator of any need of emergency medical care. I contacted the father
William White and he requested to meet so he could take her to the hospital to get evaluated for her suicidal thoughts/actions.
No proof of insurance was located.
    Alyssa was charged with:
27-5-302 leaving scene of property damage accident
    27-50-308 Reckless driving 1st
    27-50-302 Speeding 115mph in 55 mph zone
    27-51-104 careless prohibited driving
    27-22-104 no proof of insurance
Alyssa will be charged with the following at her court date due to her release to her Father for medical treatment.
5-54-125 Felony fleeing by conveyance substantial danger
    5-36-103 Theft of property =$5000 $25000 Class C Felony

From what my martial arts teacher taught, yes you can talk and suffocate. The trick is oxygen getting to the lungs but not to the brain. Couple of ways to do that, one is pressure on the chest it can restrict blood flow to the brain if done wrong. You are breathing and suffocating at the same time and its easy to do on accident.

Part of why children aren't well disciplined: economics. The hustle culture has killed responsible parenting. When you're pulling double, triple shifts just to pay the bills, you don't have a lot of time for your kids.
Rent is ridiculously high everywhere, even in rural neighborhoods.
