I imagine the driver was found about 20-30 yards from where the steering wheel was found (@1 o'clock 9:42 - 9:44), he must have put one hell of a death grip on that steering wheel, and sailed through the air with it. 12:39 Trooper Morphis locates a bag of weed and a flip-flop @ 11 o'clock (V1 at 12 o'clock), that aligns with the 1 o'clock. That is one hell of a flight path DeeRoh took, just can't see what he hit at about the 2 o'clock position that spun the vehicle landing it towards the west. At 160 mph, he face planted that airbag, wouldn't be surprised if stuck to his face.
Those guys are the best in southeast Arkansas. You can hear the compassion in Trooper Morphis voice because he knew the driver. My heart goes out for the ones that worked the scene. Also to the families of the driver. Great job guys!

This reminded me of a story My mother used to tell me about an accident her cousin was in. A bunch of drunk kids hit them, and caused a roll over in a field. The drunk/high kids were laughing because her cousins husband was searching around in the tall grass, on his hands and knees for their baby that had been ejected from the car. (This was the late 60's, before seat belts and baby seats were mandatory.) He ended up snapping and beating one of the kids half to death. Turned out, the baby was deceased, under the overturned car. They found it when the wrecker flipped the car over. Cops refused to arrest the husband for the assault. Things were different back then.

😢😢 In Santa Ana CA back in 2006 the apartments I lived at police were called on a father that had his 3 yr old daughter sat down on a hot plate bc she wouldn't stop crying the responding officers had to restrained one of their own bc he beat the crap out of the father. I saw from my window how he tossed him out his window and beat him in the front patio. But the worst part was the little girl screaming "daddy daddy" 😭
@@estherdmartinez1346 thats horrible (What the dad did, not the cop). I know that if it wasnupntonmost of us, we would not hold the cop liable, but the reality is cops are not judge, jury and executioner. If you let this slide, where's the line? The cop probably screwed his career, and gave the "father" a ghetto lottery pay day. In hind sight, the cop probably should have stuffed down the anger, and did his job. Things have changed a lot since the 60's.
Wrecking out in front of a prison, oh the dark irony.
That cop caught some freaking AIR on that bump. I don't know how he managed to not lose it himself on that road. Crazy driving skills.
Him going airborne like that may have been why he couldn't get his rifle out. I'm thinking that the impact of hitting the ground may have jammed it somehow.

Back in the 70s it was called Signal 30, Highway Patrol signal for DUI/Death in vehicle. We called them 41I/48 in my county. Made a believer outta me, cars and speed can kill. Seen and called many of them dead on the scene as an EMS provider. I see it continues today. Shame, wasted lives.
People don't realize how the road changes at 125+ mph. Even the weight of the car seems to change. A small hump in the road can make you go airborne. We don't normally drive at those speeds so people don't realize until its too late. There's no way a street car could make that flat turn at those speeds. I don't know why the guy ran but I doubt it was worth dying for.
Especially at night. You start outrunning your headlights at about 100 mph, so at 160 you'd have no hope to slow for a corner.

I remember seeing this on another channel. For all the comical comments, I found it deeply tragic. The officer spent so long searching in the dark calling the suspect´s name begging him to say something. And, yeah, running was an absolutely stupid thing to do, moronic, but in the end, a man died horribly, and it was a man the officer knew. I really feel for the cop. I really do.
The lead cop was amazing in every way. It’s even more heartbreaking because I think if it’s a small town, the cop actually knows this person calling him by his first name.
Second cop is obese
💯🫡
If the officer knew the driver, the high-speed chase was unnecessary. Best course of action is to stay calm, don't chase, let driver think they have escaped, and they will slow down. They can be picked up at a later time for speeding, fleeing, etc...

#1 problem with Challengers is the lack of an actual racing seatbelt. Should be required on all cars that can exceed 160, much less on the scat and hellcat version.
Unless you’re racing the challenger, there is no need for the harness. Ideally, you aren’t driving 160 in the day to day commute
Or just stop building road cars that can go that fast
@leglessinoz right. There's absolutely no sense in it
Im german so ive gone close to 200mph on the autobahn a couple of times when there was close to no traffic and clear weather
People have no idea how narrow the road gets and how unstable the car feels and im a good driver in the prime of my years with excellent eye sight and reactions who works as a mechanic and is certified in knowledge over all the components a vehicle consists of
To go 160mph on a road like that at night is completely insane
I mean yeah an excellent driver could get away with it but an excellent driver would never do it because its idiotic
Ignore driving skills and road conditions just think about some other driver suddenly pulling out a sideroad or wildlife suddenly appearing
Even something as small as a rabbit will hit you like a cannonball at 160mph

This is one thing I worry of when I'm driving home after a night shift. I live out in the country in South Carolina, and some of the roads have 55+ MPH speed limits (in the South 45+ on a country road gives you pretty good clearance to enjoy some spirited driving, because police don't commonly patrol those roads). That said, wildlife is a terrifying variable. Deer, raccoons, strays, etc, and it's absolutely terrifying, because it's very common we see roadkill and car debris out and about on these roads. These roads are also definitely NOT smooth or healthy enough to run 160 MPH.
@@rahulsudhir666 agreed👏👏
Can we take a moment to give a shout-out to the shocks in the trooper's vehicle? Takin' that dirt road with potholes at 110 mph was epic!
Not to mention large private parts

It's the same chassis as the Challenger, the Charger pursuit. Mercedes E Class suspension bits. 👀
I knew a guy who worked at a Ford/Chrysler
assembly plant in Ontario. They produced the police Crown Vic’s there too. Legend has it that sometimes on C shift one of these road beasts would be driven off the line for some recreational time in a out of the way area of the lot.
I myself worked at a tier two supplier factory as a forklift operator. In winter there was an outdoor machine rented for us to use if racking etc needed to be brought in/out. There were ample shenanigans happening with that thing on B shift so I have no reason to doubt the voracity of the Crown Vic story. Those Marauders were well known and could lay serious rubber.

A shoulder and lap combo belt isn’t going to stop you from getting ejected at 160 anyways. There’s cases of people being partially ejected in lower speeds collisions who were wearing seat belts, that failed to hold them in. Parents actually acting like parents and holding their offspring accountable for their actions. Alot of this stems from parents and others who are influencenal believing in this softer, kinder, gentler parenting. All parents now believe their children are God's gift to humanity and NEVER do anything wrong.....till the complete lack of accountability gets some or someone's killed.
I witnessed a accident were the driver was ejected from his vehicle, he shot out of the drivers window like he being sent into space, his hands were down at his side like he was pogo dancing. he flew a good 30' in the air and came down right on the HWY and his car was rolling over and over, not a second went by after he landed did his cars roof roll right over him and popped him like a grape. the car ended up on it's wheels and rolled to a stop. He was hot rodding through traffic weaving in and out between cars and lost it right in front of me. Traffic just drove around him as I did and that was a sight I will never forget.
Wow. Would like to see a video of that.
😮 what a nightmare😮💨🙏

When I was in high school I worked at a place right along the highway, one day during the winter a lady rolled her van right in front of us. I don't know if she was drunk or what, but the windows were open and she got halfway out while it was rolling and it removed her upper body. We jumped over the short fence and ran over to help and she was smeared all over the place. Wear your seatbelt.

He was definitely a member of the more engine than brains club. It's wide open out here, the road's gotta be straight, right? He found out the hard way that it doesn't always work like that.
I have no idea how law enforcement can drive so fast during the night like this! I can barely see at going 60mph anymore. Props ❤
It's called high performance driver training. Police departments don't let just anybody climb behind the wheel. America has enough carnage on the roads without adding police light bars and sirens to the recipe.
They have a GPS on the dash, so they can tell what the roads are like
@@pre1980cars In a police Charger?... Not very fast (they have brake problems). But they do have that pusher plate in front. That helps considerably, as does the structural re-enforcement of the front end police Chargers have.
Good thing you’re not a cop. 🙄

That car is meant for a straight line, not curves, especially at 160! Crazy!
Amazing scene control by Officer Morphis. To be mindful of the possible outcomes if the driver was still active. Reminding all responding to watch cross fire, keeping units locked / no keys, looking out for walkers along the road, etc. Very much on point and heightened situational awareness.
Yes 👍
Most cops are masons...satanist...I guess satan needed a scarifice cops are so willing to serve!!!
Stupid to look for someone walking after doing 160 and rolling 🙄
Thought the doors locked command was pretty good...even tho highly unlikely
Nobody gonna walk from. A 160 roll..in a non race car without a cage...even in a Tesla too.
160 miles an hour? Wow, no one is going to be walking around after getting ejected at that speed. That is crazy.
I don't think cars should even be able to go that speed unless it's a raceway but everyday vehicles should be made to only go up to a certain speed
@@cmsmith1973 GFYS Commie
That officer is pulling it out of his a$$. He cant possibly know how fast he was going. He never went over 100, until after the driver was long gone. He had already been wrecked for a little bit, before he ever caught up to him.
The driver didnt have to fo more than 100 to pull away from the officer. I highly doubt a Challenger is hitting 160 on a track, let alone a back country road. If it was a Hellcat, sure, but not a Challenger.
@@cmsmith1973Depends where you are from because in Germany people normally do these speeds. Autobahn has no speed limit and it’s normal for people living in Germany.
@@carllennen3520 I mean at one point in the pursuit the officers gps indicates a speed of 140mph and he’s not gaining on the suspect. I’m pretty sure the officer has a good idea how fast the car may have been going.
Don’t drive faster than your guardian angels can fly.
So stupid and sad. God bless his family. Thank you officers for trying to keep the roads safe! God bless you and your families.
The obituaries around the area made it sound like a tragic car accident that a beloved member of their town got into as he failed to navigate a turn and went into an embankment, losing his life in a sudden unexpected way. No mention of him fleeing police at 160 mph and that it was noones fault but his own.
Lol
Obituaries aren't usually full of condemnation. Maybe if your family really hated you. "Jimmy was an idiot to the very end. Never could handle sharp curves. He also stole my bike when he was 10"
Its the family who writes the obits, not the cops.
@@tpolutts3309 Lmao 🤣 Yeah, that doesn't sound right.

I am impressed by the officers skilled driving scene management, and care for the driver wanting to help him, cool and calm during the chase, and you could hear the release of his adrenalin after he found the vehicle, a job not easily done by anyone, sir I applaud you for the fine job you do, protecting and upholding the law, I thank you
I don’t understand why he keeps saying 160. I watched his speedometer in the left-hand corner and it didn’t get much above 135. If he was going 160 then the trip wouldn’t of been able to keep up to see where he was going. 130 is still quite a bit of speed, but I don’t see 160.
“Hey here’s a bag of weed and a flip flop” I can’t lie I started laughing so hard at that
Hats off to ASP for staying calm, being total professionals. Directing other LEOs to lock cars, watch crossfire, this is a best practice video. Nicely done, trooper, and others.
Yeah because initiating a high speed chase on a vehicle when you already have the plate and before that already knew who was driving costing a member of the public there life is PROFESSIONAL. Fire him for failing to uphold his oath.
Dude caused a high-speed chase and showed up to a scene that was clearly a medical emergency. His only thoughts are to get as many guns as he can. And he was too stupid to figure out how to get his rifle out
what is a LEO? what is crossfire in this context??
@ghostofkyiv3422 Most of those chargers/challengers are stolen or have fake plates
Agreed.
That cop is gangster the way he’s calling out the driver but mad respect to him, the rest of the police officers and first responders for dealing with these horrible events.
Don't you think that officer was mad because he knew the driver was badly injured or dead, because of his stupid mistake?
Ain't no way that car was doing close to 160mph and the cop barely doing 115mph and keeping up with the car
legends say the car in the background is still waiting to go home
Might be someone from the prison waiting to assist?

the trooper called out to make sure everyone’s doors were locked (meaning other responding units). There’s a lot of videos out there were a person in handcuffs steals a police car. That was the first time I’ve ever heard a trooper or police officer call that out.
It's smart because patrol cars have been stolen before after they think they knew where the suspect went only to realize he had circled back to the patrol cars.
I noticed that too and I'm guessing that it's happened enough to where they need to be aware and remember to lock the doors.
but to think after someone crashes at 160mph they r going to jump up shot u then steal the police car n flee of course he was laying out in tht field dieing DUH
