I Eclipsed my way from HRT to VHRT and happily launched torpedoes from 12/13KM away. Very rarely missed. Halfway to ERT and counting.

Love this ship. One of my most favorites ships. 3.17.5 I absolutely struggled with the reloading bug on this bad girl. Other than that. Fantastic ship.
I love the Eclipse. I look forward to earning one in-game.
As an Eclipse flyer I agree they can be fantastic fun in the right situation!!!!
The Vanguard Harbinger is also a good option with its 3x S5 torps plus a range of other missiles, and of course it packs a punch in terms of weapons too for some closer combat. All in all, it’s a better general option but not got the wow factor of those S9’s.
It can also have a turreteer with two size 3's. Long as you swap out the defaults to something without ammo clips, your byddy can fire all day.

So someone left there Retaliator floating around PO today, so of course I had to “barrow” it. This is the first time I got use size 9 torpedos, I now understand why people love them and I can’t wait to get my own eclipse or retaliator

Had a lot of fun with my org the other night in my Eclipse while they flew ghosts. We were a full stealth build and it made it pretty fun.

Yeah, I'm sitting on 5mil aUEC waiting for patch 3.19 so I can get an Eclipse.
We currently have no idea if patch 3.19 going to be a partial or full wipe - 3.18.2 was a partial wipe of inventory, not wallet or rep, so there were some ppl who bought in-game ships who weren't happy

Eclipse is so much fun to use. One time i accepted a VHRT and two Reclaimers spawned at one of the bounty sites, coincidentally they spawned right above two of my org mates who were doing a bunker.
Suddenly theyre under heavy fire from these two massive ships. I enter the atmosphere and kill both of them in the same bombing run, all recorded from the ground.
In terms of efficiency, its worth sticking at VHRT multiwarrants. The jump from VHRT to ERT reward is something like 65k to 85k, but the problem is that at least one of the ERT targets will be a Hammerhead. To kill the HH you will need to fire all three torps in a volley and hope it cant shoot them all down.
Which means more rearming, which takentime and costs 10k for a full set of three torps. Whereas the VHRTs, once you learn how to do it well, are almost always one shot kills.
Edit: I have now been getting consistent kills on Hammerheads with just the one torp, but it's pretty hairy as you have to wait until the last second to launch (~ 3,500m) and manage power between shields and boost to get away unscathed. Its my dream to take down a fully player-crewed HH at least once with this thing.
Do it at 10k out. Subtarget the engines and let it rip. You don't even need to get close to the target

@TheGeneralDisarray hasn't happened to me yet. Every torp I used in an ERT has hit the HH at 10k. Some even further
At a little after 12:09, you are saying "please go red". I understand that you are referring to the target's ship & location info, but can you please explain what happens between that info being white and then turning red?
Just the game reading them as hostile. If I destroy them before they are red I could get a crimestat
I've noticed that the ERT Hammerheads have started shooting down the torps... Working on that dead fire game now
Yeah, avenger one has a good video about how to line up so they have less chance of shooting them down. But I find that firing all three torps at once usually does the trick. But with the cost and time to rearm, I don't really think it's worth it. It's fun to take down hammerheads but I think if you're trying to be efficient it's better to stick to VHRTs because reclaimers will never shoot them down.

Just about to get into the game. This is what i want to do the most. But i know ill need to learn a ton before takeing a ship out. (Dont know how death works km the game) but any tips for ships that would be cheaper and can play similarly
There's not many tbh. The eclipse is the only stealth ship that plays like this, but the Aegis Vanguard Harbinger, the Anvil Gladiator, and Aegis Retaliator all have torps. Harbi and the Gladiator only have size 5 torps when the eclipse and Retaliator have size 9 torps.
Making me want to buyback my LTI one
Love the eclipse but the real money price is a bit steep as is the case with most aegis ships

I landed at a mining outpost yesterday, and happened to see one of those leaving when in 3rd person. Passed within a couple hundred feet of me. It NEVER blipped on my radar. I'd have never known if I'd stayed in cockpit view.

the stealth against npc is not working but against player ships is. except if your ship is a exploration ship equiped with exploration scanner those ships always detect even stealth ships idkw.

My first time seeing one was at jumptown. We were leaving with a hold full of drugs when a ship we were leaving behind as a decoy suddenly exploded and pushed our ship away, then this ominous shadow zoomed past. It was the coolest freakin thing.
last time i tested a few days ago, 5/6 HH shot down the torps making eclipse pretty useless (shoot torp in close range, and fly in to tank with ship as the torp follows, or you will lose every torp)
I will test that when I get to ERTs the grind has been slow for me
lots of factors influence a torp hit, but in general the 3.18.2 patch has a torpedo/missile bug were about 50% of the missiles you fire just go stupid and fly straight. I get about 50% hits when I do the Arlington Idris or VHRTs.
For the Eclipse v HH, you can do the standard 'boom & zoom' method - fly at around 400ms to 4km of the HH, fire, then boost past the HH dropping decoys - the HH will target you and ignore your S9 torpedo behind you, and your Eclipse will survive some hits to its shields.
@@shawnc5188 until they fix it, eclipse will only make you mad. read what i wrote...zoom&boom does not work 5/6 vs HH, not even when you get lit up in the process tanking almost all...
Fly 600m/s and let it go 4km out, bank up and kaboom, and you’ll quickly be out of range of the other ships. I’ve been doing it without fail for a couple days since I unlocked ert’s. It’s the harbingers and wardens that I sometimes miss. But I sit 10.5 km out and shoot them while sitting stationary. Usually works but hits a rock once in a while.
@@LOoNyTOoN1336 I get 50% torpedo kills from my Retailator in this patch, in 3.17 it was 90%. I’ve fired two torpedoes and witness one go dumb, one track properly. 15% success rate is really too low, I’ve chatted with foxyloxy on his channel about this as well.

Maybe somebody can help me. I've tried many tactics and loadouts but only 1/3 torps Hit the ERT Hammerheads... does someone have the same problem?
The hammerhead has gotten good at shooting them down. But It also depends on launch distance and what torpedos you use.

I had an Eclipse for a long time.. but on one melancholy day I missed my 1000th torpedo due to the game being dogshit and melted the bastard. Couldn't take it anymore lol.

The IR Typhoons are so bugged out for me right now for pvp…they only lock super close and by then with an oncoming pvp opponent it’s to late to fire. I agree these are fine for PVE when subtargeting the engines and finally getting a green lock when close, but PVP the EM Seekers seem to be best at the moment. Great video bud keep up the good work!
The Eclipse is criminally underpriced in game. 3 million and change is super easy to get in game. I don't think I'd bother spending real money on it

i would say this isnt accurate anymore... S9 torpedos get focus by npc turret gunners now and with 6 S9 of my Retaliator i maybe kill 1 Hammerhead.
the ships you blasted away seems to not moving or react in anyway... Dont know if this is so for you everytime...
I haven't had any issues. Yeah some of them get shot or miss but I wanna say 7 out of 10 are successful hits
@@OneNutSupreme for me ITS the complete opposite. Ibdont Like this Zoom and boom gameplay where you Dive bomb the Torpedo directly into the enemy. But as said before. The recordings of your gameplay shows non or the slightest of movement from the npcs. I tested the retaliator and its S9s for more then a week and drained several millions of aUEC with all types of torpedos and different approches in gameplay. I cant make IT profitable anymore. Only the zoom and boom gameplay is working and thats Not my cup of tea. Some people say it is a Skill issued in my side but i dont belive that... I would say it depends mostly in the Server performance cause you and i do the torpedo runs the same way. But the npcs reacted much faster maybe its because you use a eclipse and i used a retaliator. Dont know for Sure but Show usbsome gameplay vs. HHs pls so i can see how they react to your eclipse... Cause you are the only one loading up such torpedo videos in 3.19 so far... Cheers mate
ok now, but in the future don't forget that a torp like that will cost around 1 million, so it will be used on a large scale or for high value targets, even so with a big risk of losing 1m and not destroying the target
I really doubt that. Even Idris bounties don’t pay enough to afford 1 torpedo lol.
@@ricky6608 some rewards will be given by players, there will be pirates with huge values for their heads, organizations, and about the value of torps this has already been explained live by the devs, z9 tops will be very expensive,

IAE is the Interstellar Areospace Expo. Basically, it's a car show for spaceships game. They show off a different make on the show floor every day, and by the end of the event, pretty much every ship will be available for purchase on the pledge store as they add those makes the day they are show and will remain there until a few days after the event

Bull shit stealth doesn't work. How many times have you done bountys, and this ship blinks in and out till about 5k from it... I feel that it kinda works.
