Okay I have an idea for a rover, say you want to cut away some material but also build a road. So you have a giant drill head in front of the rover, and welders in a line on the back and throw in some refiners and assemblers and you've got a tunnel boring/road building rover that will allow you to make roads and dig tunnels.
So like a "Hot In-Place" asphalt machine. Rips up the top layer of asphalt from the road, mixes it with some new material then places it back down as it slowly moves. th-cam.com/video/YVSjSdbfl5o/w-d-xo.html I could make the SE equivalent of that.
I know this might sound rude to the classic welder but why didn’t he use the mini build and repair on the rover and set it up with drone features to slowly drive around for him?
You can use a gyroscope to stabilize the Rover. I’ve forgot the name of the mode that it stop the ship from spin. There’s also a stript to help set up rovers.
The Small Ship Mega Modpack: (steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=305329302) Has small block refineries and assemblers along with tons of the large blocks in small block form. It also comes with a mini Arc Reactor if you want some super power that is hecka expensive to get. You can put a refinery and assemblers on that paver and just let it build as fast as it can produce steel plates.
1. You should run cargo tube on the ceilings of the tunnels so you can insert junctions as needed. Plus you'll need to transport ore later as you said. 2. You welder is nice, I think it needs to have a spacer between each one. That's why it's missing, not the speed. 3. You can remote any vehicle.
For loading the rover you should place a conveyor sorter on either the top part or at the connector, would make hooking up to the connector a lot easier on you having to manually loading the steel plate and possibly speed up the process.
What about a build and repair on the paver to build the upper supports for the underground base/ elevator. Or are you planning on another vehicle for that?
so i feel like you should have made this slightly larger in the first place so it can weld an entire path in one go, that way the time you spent making this was actually worth it cause right now i feel like you would have been better off welding it by hand. not that it really matters cause youll be doing that later (plus build and repair) but its just a thought.
I have a small grid Rover chassis that i print out for all my Earth planet needs, so far i have the long range scout, base welder, crashed ship grinder, cargo hauler and battle truck. I even have variants for multiplayer and for when mods like BAR and Fill and Drill are active. I just found a chassis set up i really liked and stuck with it lol.
I know this video is almost a year old, but I didn't see anyone else tell you in the comments. You can move the build area of the (BaR) Build and Repair system just like you did the drill system area and have the entire projection built while you go out and kill some drones or something.
So you made a paint roller for blocks? A block roller? You could have just made a rover with build and repair. And the small grid assembler you want? It is called the survival kit.
Be aware though that when you do that the right wheels will turn backwards so you have to invert propulsion. Sometimes you also have to reset the propulsion override as well to operate the wheels with WASD.
you know how you can sort of connect connectors on an angle? Maybe when you build the city, make both 2 separate grids and connect them both up so they are flat. Im not sure if it will work, but have a go?
Hold the phone... Season 1 episode 33, Arrival at the alien planet. Doesn't this Ice lake look suspiciously like the Ice lake you found back then? It's got the same island where you're planning to buil the watch tower, the same cliff face where you want to build the Hive. It's the same lake!
Just an idea Instead of flying out of the top hole how about building some sort of big elevator It would allow you to get bigger ships out because you wouldn’t need to worry about it bumping against the sides Plus it’d look cool
That's what we do if we don't have the fancy new MOD. I always used half blocks to back my buggy up to the height of the connector. Drove me nuts till I found they had collision mesh on both sides.
You may want to use Industrial-Sized Assembler. with 6 speed modules. If you can overcome the power requirement, the only assembler you will ever need for each station and/or ship. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=481012219
Kana, saw your old series and must say it was more dramatic and natural. All this nanites, automatic build and others is making game boring i think. You should do some more complete and designed buildings, not huge, small but more filled with abilities. And process of construction is more important than creation a design. More susvival but less creative mode. Anyway thanks for your videos

I have made a few of those and it's funny how fast you notice the curvature of the planets, after a few KM your road is 100's off meters in the air.

Great idea for the rover. I wold have made the head 5 Welders wide but still hats off to you as i would have gone for the standared flyer

If you order 5 items(of the same) on repeat it won't do the lagging stop start production
You could put a basic assembler on the smol grid using advanced rotor.
Maybe some speed modules placed on assemblers will give you more steel plates
Yield as well.

You can group those wheels together & place on the hot bar increase & decrease speed to slow down & speed up as you need!

Yes i noticed that too, i can refilll H2 bottles on a small conveyor port, but when I'm sitting in the cockpit it won't work.
