    I spent the entire video hoping you'd notice you misspelled "Control" on the button and you finally noticed at the end of the video.
    You could use the same sensors that detect you, to detect subgrids and open the doors, use small block timers, placed beneath the elevator, to temporarily turn off Isy's Simple Doors program when the elevator is detected and another to turn it back on, VOILA automatic elevator doors that wait for you.
    You could also simply raise the ceiling of the elevator shaft and then enclose the elevator, if you still want an enclosed elevator.
    The sensor design for calling the elevator isn't multiplayer friendly, but I assume that's fine, as I myself only play on SP as well.
    You might also consider having emergency stop buttons or something on the elevator button panel, or buttons that reset the timers, (If you add some via my suggestion), in case anything gets messed up.

    You should put the buttons in the middle of the elevator so it doesn’t stick out.

    you should add one more sensor at each floor to detect subgrid to turn on a light near the door when the elevator arrives at the floor so when you are on a floor and call the elevator you know when it is safe to open the door or do the auto opening like Donovan Wulf said

    I like your elevator builds because it shows some of the best examples of building start to finish with all kinds of features and scripting methods you can do to make things work without mods.

    The elevator turned out so good with small blocks! With how big the base of your tower is I feel it would look better if it was taller. Looks like a stump now, not a tower :P

    You do know when you ask questions the answer is usually "There is a mod for that!".
    Sure if you want to keep it vanilla as possible I understand. Someone else commented about the "Small Ship Decorative Blocks Mod Pack" and I'll repeat my comment in the previous video about button panels. May I suggest you look at the "Corner Button Panel" mod or perhaps "Button Panels Mod Pack DX-11(Updated)". That 2nd one will allow up to 8 buttons. And if you are not using already, before you go start painting, how about the "Paint Gun" as a suggestion?
    Whilst you are on Digi's workshop have you ever used his "Electronics Panel - small blocks on large grid", "Micro Programmable Block", "Micro Timer - a tiny timer block". For ship or station designs these are great space savers.

    Got a suggestion for you. After hearing you tall about the radar area got me thinking. You said spacecraft to area b2. What if you put yellow blocks just 1 block under the ice to layout your landing areas. Will the blocks show through the ice. Just a thought.

    You could also cover the pistons with a layer of small grid blocks, just for looks ;)
    Have some detectors detecting for small grid blocks, and have them turn on the doors when they detect the elevator, and turn them off when they can't detect the elevator
    And you need detectors by the landing pads, that detect small and large grid on it, and colour relevant screens or lights in the control tower red and green :)

    Kanajashi, SEModder4 made a mod for small grid decorative blocks that include the couches titled “Small Ship Decorative Blocks Mod Pack”.

    For your love seat, Put a small grid rotor (NOT ADVANCED) into the floor and a large grid head on it. Put the couch ontop.

    Sensor on large grid behind button panel(for each floor) when detects small grid activates timer block opening doors and lights somewhere near elevator.
    No detection equals timer block closing and turning off lights.

      Oh yh make isys program ignore shaft doors and have them locked as well as closed, using timer blocks too.

    Have sensors detect you when you enter a floor, turn on lights, play a tune and call the elevator.
    When you exit a floor turn off the lights.

    Space engineers add turrets for protection and connect to radar with lcd panels and in the ship parking put ATMs and selling blocks

    You can use the timer activation feature of the elevator script to open the doors on arrival. Though it would be nice if it could select the timer block based on the name instead of the proximity.

      You posted it for me. :p As far as your second sentence, it kind of does. It goes by group name and/or suffix on the block name. It doesn't look through all the timer blocks in the world. If you only have one block in that group, or one block with that suffix, it will always be that one. But I'm open to suggestions of how it could be better. Are you talking about manually configuring a timer block name for each floor? I think that would be a lot harder for people to figure out, you'd either have to write a dictionary into the config, or have a complicated argument like "set trigger [floor] [block name]" and then you get into the issue of troubleshooting "ok now did I set that trigger yet? What did I spell it?" etc, because (correct me if I'm wrong) you can't examine the script's Storage (saved data) from the UI. How would you envision it working?

      If the timer name in the script is "Elevator trigger" and you are going to floor "lobby" then also look for timers that contain both strings in the name, if found only trigger that timer(s). otherwise old logic.
      Similar logic with the groups. If the group is named "Elevator triggers" then take the timerblock with the floor name in the name.

      ​@@ratchet1freak That's actually not a bad idea. I guess when you spend enough time focusing on complicated details, you forget the obvious stuff. I'll see about it. If space engineers can stay unfrozen long enough that is. I really hope they fix that.

    Could always encase the elevator car in its own glass shell, if ye didn't want to feel too enclosed - or is that not possible on a small grid?
    And one way to have the buttons in the corner would be to use a small rotor set into the floor set to 45 degrees. It might even invoke Clang in an entertaining manner. ;)

    Add some sort of indicators to when the elevator is called and has arrived. Otherwise you need to peak through the glass walls. Automatic door opening would be better for the arriving part. For the calling button, this mod may work steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=397242149 if you want to add another mod at least ;0

      Make a sensor that detect when the elevator (grid) is at the floor and open all the doors automatically and close when it leave the floor. Will need to except them from Isy's door control.

    You could even close off the elevator carriage, now that it's small grid. I think there are some small grid doors, if not in vanilla then definitely in a mod.

    How about glass walls and doors to the elevator and the 'stations'? That would give a wide open feel.

    Use Pam for the LCDs in the tower it has a base remote available where you control ships through the base with lcd updates on each ship with isys connected ships script too see what ships are connected to the base
    For the elevator use calm music so it’s not annoying lol and use sensors to open the doors when the elevator arrives with timers hidden under the elevator to lock the doors when the elevator isn’t there
    Also isys door script is now gonna control your whole base with everything that is connected including the city

    The door should only open if the elevator has arrived. So you could do a 2nd sensor which detects the grid if its on the level and opens the door. the only isse ist that it should not open if the elevator drives throug.

    Could.you not use a wall of half blocks to mount the buttons in the elevator? Like you did in front of the doors but extend them up.

      Also, you could set those sensors both call the elevator & another sensor open the doors when it's safe to enter the elevator(ie: open the doors for you) & close them when you press a button to change floors! Sadly the auto door close script would be useless though in this case but your elevator would act more like a real elevator of today! You'll just have to add a few timer blocks for each of that floor's doors!

    Why didn’t you use the half blocks alaround the elevator pad and use the half blocks to place the buttons on you can create a realistic elevator Carige if you want with walls and a roof
