  • Unboxing the Poco F5 from Xiaomi, with a full comparison vs the F5 Pro for gaming, camera performance & specs. The Poco F5 boasts some clever tech and sleek design, but is it one of the best mid-range smartphones right now? Or should you upgrade to the Poco F5 Pro?
    Check out my review of its more expensive sibling right here on Tech Spurt!
    These two 2023 phones may look remarkably different, but they do share the same DNA. For one, the camera tech is basically identical, although the regular Poco F5 maxes out at 4K video and you don't get the same focus action. Both can spaff out good looking photos and video in all but the lowest light.
    While the regular Poco F5 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 2, the Pro packs in an 8 Plus Gen 1. Regardless, these smartphones both offer a smooth gaming experience with Genshin Impact and other Android titles. Complete with that MiUI gaming mode, which serves up performance modes and other handy tools.
    The Poco F5 boasts other advantages vs the Pro, including a headphone jack and a snazzy design. UK price and release date info coming when it's announced!

    The Snap Dragon 7+ Gen2 has become 2023's version of the 870. It outperforms the 8 Gen 1 in almost every scenario and only falls short (2%) in Antutu. Crazy how the 7 Gen chip is already outperforming last years 8 Gen.

    • @czkmeister
      @czkmeister ปีที่แล้ว +61

      Because it literally is the 8 gen 1, just built by TSMC and not Samsung. And it is slightly underclocked, imagine the performance if it wasn't changed.

      That's because of how piece of shit 8 gen 1 was, even SD 855 outperformed it. Also 7 gen 2 is just the renamed version of 8 plus gen 1 from last year. I would choose SD870 or dimensity 8100 over these anyway.

      @@psI6 8Gen 1 was manufacture by Samsung and it becames disaster of the year in 2022. Battery, thermals , raw performance everything was messed up because of samsung fabrication. Practical performance of 8Gen 1 is between 855 and 865😂.

    We may have mixed opinions about whether or not to choose this over that, but consider your budget constraint and how much you are willing to spend or compromise. There is a blur between the lines of comparison, due to personal preferences, key differences.
    Whichever one you pick, you can't go wrong as probably you've researched it and thought of considering it lately.

    Poco f5 is a big serious upgrade, it got better camera, way more powerful chipset, and audio jack (awesome). For the display i think qhd is too overkill for a phone, plus it would also drain your battery faster. So i think f5 would be best choice for most people. It's also more beautiful and cheaper too

    I want to buy it, but in my country there is no official warranty. Can I except the phone to survive for 4-5 years ?
    Or will the Poco X3 pro and M3 incidents happen to the less fortunate people that buy this phone ?

      Did you buy it ?
      And if you did ,does it have any hardware issues
      Or any issues in general?

      @legalsn16 fancy a change.. I know what you must be thinking he's mad doing that.. Will explain was going to get an s23 plus...1st because I want to go back to a flat screen photo. 2nd have found s22 ultra just to big want something a bit smaller. So was going to part exchange my s22 ultra for one. I had part exchange mu oneplus 7t Pro last year and bought the handset outright. Had a really good price when it was released last February. But when F5 came out I was comparing not to my s22 ultra.. but to what I was getting with say s22 plus or s23 plus. And when you put the F5 up against them it comes out really well.. I know build carmera..and so on... But I had the F5 for £339 pounds... and you compare that to s22 plus or 23 plus.. Don't forget UK models of S22 all had the exynos chip which was shit. The POCO F5 with side finger print scanner.. which I just love head phone jack and an IR blast.. Come on what a phone spec... And that is why my S22 ultra is going back in its box and I will probably sell it...
      Hope this has explained my reasons.. it's a bit like someone going from android to apple a guess 🤔 😃😃

    • @Mike.Tech.
      @Mike.Tech. ปีที่แล้ว

      @Matthew Charles I understand. I had the S22 Ultra and had the Exynos chip. I now have the S23 Ultra, and the difference is crazy. But that being said, I'm currently using the A54. Was supposed to be just to test it, but the size is really great. Performance is 100% a downgrade. Also, I got the Redmi Note 12 Pro, which is also good, but I feel I should have waited for the F5 and used my mi points on that.
      How did you get the Poco for that price?

    The Poco F5 is best looking but should have max out the video resolution 4k/60.... the chipset is more than capable enough.. theres even no 2k/60 options.... xioami developers were just so lazy.... im using the f4 gt atm.. glad to have 4k60..but it would have been great if there was 2k/60 just to save a bit of storage.

    F5 Pro is noted as having glass-back on gsmarena. The only plastic is the rim. Who's right ?!
