- His ANGRY Girlfriend Ran Over His PS5 - Can We Fix It?! I was contacted by someone whose girlfriend ran over his PS5. So I told him to send it in to see if I could fix it. The console definitely was damaged but I had to take it apart to see just how much damage was done. It would beep but wouldn't power on, and the fan was really messed up, as was the HDMI port...and a number of other things, of course.

The most concerning part for me is how he describes his partner as 'Angry girlfriend' and not 'Angry Ex-girlfriend'

If I was him, I would also fix that relationship by getting out of it. Huge red flag if the girlfriend is willing to go this far.
She wouldn't be my girlfriend any longer after doing this. She needs to understand it's not OK to touch other people stuff and destroy whatever she likes.

If I had a dollar for every PS5 repair where a girlfriend ran it over with her car that I've seen then I'd have $4, which isn't a lot but it's still really weird that it's happened 4 times.

Those components are so small I ordered a whole roll for the hdmi capacitor and lost 3, turns out one was under my fingernail. But if you're gonna replace those components then you better order a lot

Damaged PS5 aside, if I were him, that's instant break up. For whatever reason, a person has no right to destroy other people personal things. Ran it over with car? That's intentional. Save yourself from that girl, dude, next time it may be your turn to get destroyed.
@11:45 I agree Steve, like if there's a broken trace or a few broken traces under one or a couple of those chips, reflowing it could've completely severed that connection. Or if it was just cracked solder balls it could've restored it. . Your efforts were not in vain, I would've done the same thing. Great video!
File a police report then take her to small claims court, she would pay for the ps5 and all the court fees to.

By making it worse, probably you were on the right track. You definitely should've reflow, or reball those chips again.

What about plugging a cooling fan in then trying to turn it on? Could have a no cooling fan protection
I think when the fan is disconnected from the main board, that may cause power shutdown.
Could you connect a good working fan and check

@@Tronicsfix I wanna ask a question, my old ps4 disc drive doesn’t work, does that mean it needs a new chip or both a chip and the disc drive . I have the original 1100 series. I’d appreciate the reply

@@qurikymat54 I’ve taken it to a shop to replace it and they said it don’t work. It’s probably because my ps4 model disc drive and chip are paired. So if one gets replaced it won’t work.

I fixed my old PS3 controller until it was broken. If this also happened to Steve there must be some sort of universal repair anomaly affecting all of us technical types. Stay frosty my friends.

I remember when I thought that level of soldering was impressive. Then much more recently I saw HDD Recovery Services do a microSD card repair. There were like.....10 traces that were bad and he bodged all of them. Every since one of them seem to fit into the size of a small drop of water. I can't even comprehend that.

Women around the world declared war on these consoles from the day they launched. Social media was full of "men should grow up, how can they want a kids toy etc". Trust me, you piss her off, that's the first thing she is going for. It used to be the car, now it's your ps5.

When you're reflowing solder do you run the risk of bonding two pins together if you're not directly trying to interface with the solder joints?

Hey Steve, I have a HP Envy M7 that I have taken to various laptops for a specific repair but unfortunately none of them can figure out what's wrong. Basically, it has an option to add an additional HDD (internal). But when the 2nd HDD is connected, the computer doesn't boot up, turn on or anything. Thank you.

Why you don't fix the fan? It looks to be just the top bearing broken of the mounting braket and it was simply glued onto it.
