I appreciate the explanation of your actions. You’re right that it makes no sense to get rid of what can (sometimes) easily be fixed. My question is. Why on earth didn't the people who bought those consoles just send them to Sony for warranty repair?? Don't tell me they bought them on ebay and DID NOT buy a warranty with them? Talk about throwing money away.
Exactly and if Sony do get their hands on them they would fix and resell refurbished. Something seems fishy. I don't understand how someone would received a broken ps5 in these times and not warranty it, because it is still in warranty guaranteed.
Maybe those consoles were resold and only the original buyer has the official receipt. Sony only provides warranty with a copy of the original receipt.
Totally agree with fixing items instead. Two problems i often encounter: 1) manufacturers plan items’ obsolescence and 2) brands that do not provide repair service or spare parts outside of warranty periods.

Most likely
doesnt matter if from scalper. the serial number on the console is all you need to make a sony warranty claim
They only need proof of purchase after a year from release date. I had to send mine in and I didn't need to include the receipt, got a new one back a few weeks later. Mine did exactly what #12 did in the video.
@@craigperry3779 i’m having problems with my disk drive & i bought it from a scalper, it was brand new completely sealed box. But where should i contact to make a replacement, the scalper said the ps5 has a warranty and sended me a pic of proof of purchase he bought from target

Very interesting and awesome video. I don't do this stuff myself but for some reason love watching these kind of videos.
“Let’s see what happens when I turn it on...” Suddenly Mario pops up on screen with his theme in an ad for his 35th anniversary. That was hilariously jarring.
Honest question: when you buy a lot like this, what broken to working ratio do you like? When you buy it are you hoping for more broken systems than working ones or is that vis versa?
16 seconds in and he's already working and getting to the point. Wow. A lot of other channels can learn from this guy.
"I purchased 13 broken PS5 because I'm an idiot, and because I make bad decisions". And I joined your club some years ago! Much to the despair of my wife, but to the great pleasure of my kids and Mother Earth! Take care and keep on fixing!
Cant wait for this video can u make a vid on applying thermal paste on a ps4
Don't need a vid for that.
Just google.
You can find many videos about that on TH-cam.
Just search: How to replace thermalpaste on Ps4.

But then we wouldn't have this video to know why we shouldn't do
He charged retail to his subs? Yeah, that seems too high...
How bout broken Ferrari
Some of them have screen fracturing so testing with one small game isn’t going to give the correct results
what do you mean "screen fracturing"? You mean screen tearing or is it something else?
Tip: If you are going to remove big components like usb-ports etc. you should use low temp solder like ChipQuick which is genius. You avoid heating up the board more than you have to.
How on earth was the one with the dodgy HDMI so dusty, where was it being played?
Me who doesn't have a PS5: "Yep, you need to do that" "Oh yeah, yeah yeah.." "Mhmm"

Im in the same boat xD
I hope you find out what the CE-108255-1 means! whether software errors or the hardware. would be really cool if you find out and upload a video
so my PS5 is now on the way to Sony !! the error CE-108255-1 is a hardware problem according to support and cannot be fixed by firmware update !!!!!!
I don't understand about these being salvage, they are still under warrantee so why not just send it back to Sony for a replacement?
Probably a massive delay and they can get their money back selling it broken
Or they're stolen
Scalped, ebay, no warranty
@@glenmcl According to a lot of people in the comments, that’s not true. You can get it replaced simply with the serial number without any proof of purchase.
@@cedricpomerleau5586 warranties aren't transferable so I don't see how. You always need proof of purchase to get a repair or replacement under warranty.
I appreciate the explanation of your actions. You’re right that it makes no sense to get rid of what can (sometimes) easily be fixed. Morally, you’re doing the environment a service in giving plastic and everything involved in making a PS5 a second chance at life. I think lots of people could learn a thing or two from you and your outlook on life. I imagine you don’t make much profit from fixing electronics this way, and that it’s largely time consuming. You probably rely on TH-cam and other mediums to fill your wallet, but you’re doing a good thing, and I respect that.
I’m always rooting for your success. The anticipation of the PS5s to power on is exciting to me. I love watching people with a special skill set! Reminds me of a show/movie where there’s a rebel living in the slums that can fix/reprogram anything and is man’s last hope of not being overtaken by technology. :)
Where are the people that doubted me when i asked u to do this vid I know u won’t believe me but one of the biggest reasons i was hyped for the ps5 launch was this vid.
Ha, ha...we showed them!
Shout out to the guy who commented that there wasn't going to be a PS5 video because "Sony perfected design so they aren't going to break and need fixing"
@@YojiroX lol
My question is. Why on earth didn't the people who bought those consoles just send them to Sony for warranty repair?? Don't tell me they bought them on ebay and DID NOT buy a warranty with them? Talk about throwing money away.
Exactly and if Sony do get their hands on them they would fix and resell refurbished. Something seems fishy. I don't understand how someone would received a broken ps5 in these times and not warranty it, because it is still in warranty guaranteed.
They may of got them off game stop , game or Amazon ect and just returned them , then the stores just replace them and liquidated them.
Agreed, there only a few months old still within the warranty period same for the PS5 controllers should just take them to Sony. 🤷♀️
@@selinanoob8184 That probably makes sense. I guess I could see that scenario.

Just a heads up, although you're probably already aware of this. Some PS5s have issues where they can't play raytraced content but everything else works fine, raytracing will the PS5 crash no matter the game, some of these could have had that problem, since you tested PS4 games on them.
Anyways love the videos and usually just lurk, but thought this time I'd give you a heads up
This is what happend to mine. after some resets and stuff the crashes became more frequent and faster to the point of not even reaching the home screen on a PS5 game, making it a glorified PS4 emulator.
