A quick correction: Haunted chests are unlocked with Tainted Lost, not Tainted Judas, I grabbed the wrong text there.
Additionally, there is one more little thing that i haven't put into the video (besides cracked key), a new rune called "rune shard" it activates a random rune effect but it is weaker than the regular rune.
I believe Rune Shard only shows up if you haven't unlocked all the runes, so it doesn't really matter.
i think in my opinion there should also be a rune type called a "mega rune"

I think the reason was that it was _actually_ a health down pill, but since it was a horse pill and Isaac had two hearts, it fulfilled the condition to become "health up" instead.
EDIT: this is wrong, the devs just made a small code mistake.
@@Flygoniaks good thought, but no. It's a bug where they accidentally switched the health up and health down horse pill voice lines. It's gonna be fixed soon.
If the pill was actually health down, it would have brought Isaac to one heart.

At the beginning I thought repentence was just a floor/enemy dlc but everything changed after finding the secret closet. There is so much good content that is sealed behind the secret it's nearly a whole new dlc in addition to the floor/enemy content. I just love this.

I got one in greed modes shop and it rerolled a half price item 😐
Lost a run in the escape sequence with the knife piece in the mines due to a gold troll bomb spawning. I'm not even mad, it was really funny.

Just a little fun fact about the golden troll bomb: it can't be rerolled by the d20, but it can be created by the d20.
I found this out while I was doing the old d20 strat in greed mode the other day, just be aware of it if you plan to do it!

the fact you can temporarily take the superbombs for yourself is a very interesting touch, and the gold troll bomb gives me a custom challenge idea. the new chest types and card version of vurp (wild card) also all have very good potential and interesting implications on the balance of the game. (looking forward to seeing hutts complain about the giant chest eating 7 keys)

I've had several golden troll bombs continuously spawn in the Beast fight. They were stuck in lava. The harbingers didn't care, but the Beast died practically instantly when it came up.

Doesn't Rotten heart also work like soul hearts in regards to getting hit and devil deal chance?
This is a year old, but yeah. They don’t work like soul hearts for whore of babylon though, I don’t think. I remember playing as eve and collecting rotten hearts and it deactivated my curse.

Not really just safety scissors, but bombs in general. They massively buffed bomb damage to the point that finding pyro is basically a GG
@@loveluclins getting a pyro is now as rare as Godhead tho. So I usually stick to the host head.
Worth noting that rotten hearts effectively count as half soul hearts for the purposes of health and devil deal chances. That is to say, if you take damage in the Womb or take damage from a champion in the Depths, you will lose two rotten hearts or a rotten heart and half a heart of whatever health remains. Rotten hearts don't count as red health when it comes to taking damage from enemies, so your chances shouldn't go down, unless that changes in the future

Great video as always, its been really nice having you go through all the new content in repentance. I would like to note that the Haunted Chest was mislabeled as a tainted judas unlock, when I believe it is a tainted lost unlock.

The little additions like the pickups, consumables and machines are my favorite parts of Repentance
You can pick up giant bombs?? How strong is this kid?? Also, I wonder what happens when you use one against a grounded boss (gurdy, isaacs first phase ect ect)
The ground probably stays under them, but only if the enemy would be on top of the hole or if it didn’t die
@@explosivemonkey4596 true, probably. Ive seen gurdy and mega maw have really weird interactions with ground in greed mode (mega maw spawning at the side in a spot where he shouldn't spawn, which negated half of his attacks)

@@explosivemonkey4596 it's in both greed and Greedier due to the weird hole formations you can get, but I'm not sure how it works in rep.
@@pileofhazelnuts Although repentance is full of details and fixes, I’ve counted quite a few details and fixes they could’ve included, so we shall see
Also if you are holding the remote detonator the red bombs will not explode on long held, but can't be picked up after thrown. But will remain still till you decide to blow it up with the active item.
I'm a little disappointed immortal hearts didn't make the cut, but I can understand why(They were basically a pickup version of Holy Mantle and I shouldn't need to explain why that would be broken)
they could've been added in angle rooms, but changed so they last only 1 floor

Maybe make them regenerate in 3 rooms? Or make them REALLY rare

Question If left for idk at least 2 minutes, do you auto collect items? For example i gotten a corpse super secret room with rotten hearts, left to go to the bathroom and when i got back the rotten hearts were already collected and i never picked them up
New dad transformation idea: permanent doorstop effect, 1/2 chance to open one door in a hostile room (it can open multiple doors, but exiting and re entering will not open new doors)
Did you know that you can press space (active item button) to throw pink bomb under you. The same applies to tainted forgotten.

sorry for the little ot but I have a question: I am totally new to TBOI and i started a new run from scratch and, surprisingly, i somehow unlocked the Cellar and The Catacombs without beating every basement/caves boss but only some of them (the majority in the case of the basement bosses). Is this normal? Has Repentance changed somethinf that I don't know?
If I remember it correctly you unlock cellar when you kill the small gemini before the bigger one in the gemini boss fight

I found a bunch of golden coins, but I only started a game and killed Mom for the first time, and I also did (failed) a daily challenge once, but I suppose that it is an item I unlock further on, but I got it like 2 times, is that a bug or can locked items appear in Daily challenge?

There is a kinda "everything is horrible" achievement for repentance?
Because i dont see why unlocking a downgrade to the default chests then
it adds a touch more randomness to the game, like other "nerfs" or spice of life changes, making replayability last longer. Otherwise tho, don't unlock it if you don't want it, or wait for someone to mod it out (if you desperately wanna fight Mega Satan as Tainted Judas)

@@dablux3892 sticky nickles are suposed to replace pennys, so is a improvement after all.
In afterbirth+ the sticky nickles were bugged and replaced normal nickles im not sure if was fixed in repentance so they replace pennys as they were suposed to do

It does actually work with the rocket upgrade, you just straight up launch a nuke

Yes and There are a lot and sometimes are funny! If you put the seed (for example, that one that make extra gore) you can use the feature in any seed you want if you enable it, but god mode for example disables trophies
