My Favorite Soul is the Eve. Seems like an extremely easy way to break Greed mode and final bosses. Add BFF into the mix for more murder.

Also, to clarify, these are counted as *runes,* meaning the Blank Card won't copy them but the Clear Rune will.
I really like these, it helps boost the number of runes up to par with the number of card and pill effects!
Dude imagine though, Clear Rune+Soul of Lillith for infinite Familiars? That'd be sick
@@nebulous9280 Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's a thing you can do, though the charge will probably be 12 in that case (the charge of the "mimic" items now changes depending on the quality of the last pill/card/rune used).

Idea for a modded Item: the infinity gauntlet. Secret room item, drops 1 soul stone when picked up. When you take damage (or kill an enemy, I dunno) it has a chance to trigger. When it does, it repeats the effect of every soul stone you used in this run.

How to easy rekt any boss as the Lost
1. Get the statue leaf
2. Use Eve's soul
3. Rest
4. Hope the leaf hasn't been nerfed by the time you come back

It's important to note that Soul of Lilith works with Tainted Cain, directly giving him the item instead of exploding it into pickups.
Soul of the lost is a glorified Hanged man card.

Fun fact 2. If two players both coop as Jacob and esau then death is impossible. (When you die in coop you turn into a ghost and normally you die if the other player dies too. But with j & e as both players the game doesn't recognize both players as having died. So you both become ghosts and can't die. ) this is useless however as when it occurs you can't go through doors so you get stuck forever

Soul of the forgotten should’ve made it where it spawns a pile of bones (tainted forgotten) that you can throw around for the rest of the room.
Thats genius! Infinitely better than just spawning him next to you. Soul of the Forgotten's effect always felt so lazy to me.

Ok but hear me out:
A blindfolded isaac run where you can only use souls for damage
Favourite soul is lilith, literally Just a treasure room that has only one item pool
Soul of Judas makes you feel like a TF2 Spy main

But you can use other souls to make it easier. Anyways i think lost soul is kinda useless. You know at the point you've unlocked it is really useless
@@MrMatrix3001 I really think it should allow you to take devil deals, because otherwise all it offers is flight (unless you plan on using it in combat, then spectral) and there's already a couple cards that offer flight.
If it gave you the godhead effect for the current room it would have been just perfect.
The okly purpose for the Lost stone ist to pickup items where you need to fly to reach them in an empty room
Lost is not the hardest character anymore, either keeper or Jacob and esau
everyone : soul of the lost is useless and can be used only in devil rooms and flight

Funny thing is, using it as T lost spawns you as Tainted lost himself... without the mantle.
For a split second when soul of the forgotten was used I just thought isaac pulled his skin off and became a skeleton

I love the concept and most of the applications, just a little bit of a shame that forgotten and Jacob and esau work the same, they should have gave you the alt forgotten skull for the current room instead, would have been funnier!
Ik this comment is 2 years old but I think soul of J&E actually gives Esau items equal to the amount you currently have so its better thaj forgotten soyl
Soul of Lazarus should really have a animation that shows it activating
For example the stone shattering in half then the player getting resurrected, it should have the effect of the old black heart as in it covering the screen accompanied with a sound effect
I found most of them pretty interesting except for the lost's and the esau one. The soul of the lost should absolutely give the ability to take devil deals for free, and maybe it should even grant god head for the room. It's unlocked with one of the most difficult characters in the game, after all. The soul of jacob and esau is just... meh... you already used the second character thing for the forgotten, why do the same thing but worse for an item that's harder to unlock. Maybe leave the esau one as is and make the forgotten one do something else? The two characters gimmick fits jacob and esau way more than the forgotten.
Esau also spawns with the same amount of random passive items as you
Forgotten doesn't
Esau is far better in lategame, as it is very possible that he spawns with something like Parasite Choco Milk Brimstone or C Section Explosivo Technology

@@musicexams5258 Yeah, they need to change the forgotten one then. It just doesn't fit very well. You'd think at the very least it would chain the soul to you, but not even that.
Late to the conversation but the soul of the Forgotten should activate the astral proyection effect, but chained to your body. For limited time! I give it like 8 seconds chained to your body while at the beginning you have that slow motion effect

Fun story. Most of the web sites and guides said that you only need to beat Hush, so I went and beat him with tainted Forgotten. When I didn't got the soul I panicked because I though the game was bugged and I could get the achivement. Luckily I beat the boss rush 'cause I was having a good run while I was going to beat Hush again, and got the soul.

Soul of Lazarus is basically the spell Tears of Denial from Dark Souls.
Ok, the soul of the lost is just a troll from Edmund. You have completed one of the hardest bosses with the hardest character? For this you will unlock one of the worst item in isaac! Thank me later.
It’s definitely not the worst unlock in the game, it’s like an alternative hanged man card. Plus it gives you mantle for one room which, for example, allows you to open a trap chest or enter/exist the curse room for free.

I just realized that the souls are unlocked by filling out the note..., but only the part with the small grey Blotch on it. do you think that the requirements to unlock something else is by completing everything in the big grey blotch?

I just want to say I'm still early in the game, so I haven't even unlocked the alt paths yet, but I've researched the wiki SO much that I knew that Isaac, Satan, Blue Baby, and The Lamb all counted as one unlock, so that's really cool to see it visualized! I've never seen the grey blots on the notepad, that's so cool!

Favorite is definitely Soul of Lillith. Familiars got buffed pretty hard in repentance, and even weaker ones like the Leech have been run savers for me.
leech is in no way one of the weaker ones, straight up bonkers on bosses with ads
You can use the soul stones with the Clear Rune item. It’s basically Blank Card but for runes and stones

Soul of Samson is the only one I have unlocked so far so I get it a lot. It seems very strong, tend to use it for boss fights
Image an item that plays the stones similar to blank card and clear rune. Makes the azazel stone a mega brimstone with way less charge.

I was very interested in the issac, eden, keeper, and lost. They can help with eden runs/streaking a lot which people have beeen doing a lot in afterbirth plus.
Working on unlocking these soul stones. But so far with the stones I unlocked, Lilith's is my top due to how that random familiar sticks around. The Appolyon soul is also helpful in a pinch.
I am, however, looking forward to finding Samson's soul stone now that I unlocked it, that will clear bosses like they are nothing.
Personally, I love Soul of Apollyon. I have no clue why.

I know is a bit late. But the Esau of the Soulstone will spawn with the same (I think) number of passive items that you have. In some cases it will spawn consumables on the room.

@@negatvecreep yeah so you can drop a trinket in a item room or boss room from floors basement 1-2 and caves 1-2 and then when you are going back through the floors in the flashbacks there will be a key shard and you can use that to open the door in the home to get the tainted character

Question: What are all the things to unlock with each tainted character? From my time so far, Mom's Heart, Isaac, Blue Baby, and Mega Satan give nothing, but Delirium does. I've no idea with the Beast, Mother, Greed mode, or the Dark Room, and I want to know if any of those would be a waste to do.
Mega Satan DOES give something, it's just not an item that it gives. and you have to beat the Issac, Blue Baby, Lamb, and Satan to get a single unlock.
Like someone said, you must fill part of the note (the part with the gray bloch in it) in order to unlock souls. That would be hush and boss rush. Then you must complete the big grey part for another unlock with each character. That would be satan, lamb, isaac and ???.

All of these souls seem pretty powerful, definitely worth unlocking all of them

I know you are trying to be smart by putting that the “Soul of Eve” gives you a “Volery” of birds, why do you not just say it as it actually is;

I love how Dad sounds a lot more demotivated when saying "Soul of Magdalene", since you know, divorce being a heavy influence on the binding of isaac's story and Mom's real name being Magdalene

Once you collected all the souls for all the characters
You would get an unlock for a game mode called "escape"
Where you have one of each soul and you have to escape Isaacs house while mother is chasing you trying to kill you
