@@TheMealPrepManual Update: made it on sunday for this week's work lunches. Was very concerned on some steps to not mess it up, esp cuz i was multitasking on 2 burners with the veg and 2 batches of potatoes in the oven because mine's too small. Turned out great, and co-workers were surprised I made it myself. Good stuff!
My man, asked for more meals without rice and not only did you deliver, but we were blessed with a meal around potatoes. This one is getting made tonight for my work week it looks like a banger
The best part about your cooking videos is that I can actually make the food from the video unlike most youtube cooking videos where its impossible to find the ingredients or use some fancy way to prepare the food.
Lol the comment about making coworkers jealous is so true XD. I love when they are astonished and asking if i made it myself. Half the reason to meal prep honestly.
Its good to see your still uploading man. About two years ago i started my fitness journey and your videos with the no equipment were the ones that got me going. Since then, i have dropped 40 pounds of fat and added about 10-15 pounds of muscle and now have abbs. You probably wont see this comment but if you do just know to keep grinding and motivating because you change lives
Thank you for sharing! Praise you for having twins! I got two 5 and 1, finding time for myself is a challenge in itself. So that great you make time for yourself to emulate the person you feel in your heart!
I really like this video and your recipe. Appreciate that you’re using accessible everyday foods and using regular kitchenware. Your presentation is great too! Sometimes nutrition TH-cam can be overly sensational, so i appreciate your even keeled presentation.
Made this twice actually over the weekend. Turned out great! Didn't really need the queso because it all tastes great, but it's still a welcome addition! Thanks as always!
Made this tonight for lunches next week. I was a little hesitant because like your hate of vegetables i've always hated cottage cheese (remember my mom making lasagna with it 🤮). The mock queso actually tasted pretty good & is much healthier than standard queso of course. I actually happen to making taquitos for dinner & ate the reminder with them. The only few minor modifications i made was to add a little water to the queso to thin it out some (was way too thick) & instead of using chipotle in adobo i used a homemade chipotle hot sauce i make. Tasted really great. Thanks...
Oh man this is amazing! Thank you so much for putting gram weight for everything! It’s so frustrating when the grams for everything aren’t included for the calorie/macro conscience. Now that you provided the weight I can do this recipe quicker and with less dishes to clean 🤘🏽
I'm made it and I'm eating it rn and it's so good!! For sure, it's going to be one of my main meals to meal prep moving forward. You just earned my sub brother!
If yall are hesitant to try it, just do it. ABSOLUTE BANGER! I was very skeptical, I HATE zucchini and cottage cheese. I thought this would be meh at best. Maybe it's because I didn't eat breakfast, and didn't eat lunch til almost 2pm, but this was ONE OF THE BEST MEAL PREPPED LUNCHES IVE EVER HAD!
No cry-ass comments today. I'm adding this one to my regular lineup. It has beef, potatoes, and cheese. Damn good combo! One quick question: has your boss stopped beating you? I didn't hear any reference that in the video today.
Oh hey, if you live in Texas the price of HEB mini pepper bags is EXCELLENT with lots of color variations. They are more time consuming to cut but that is an okay trade off for me
Two of my friends have tried this meal from my week's prep, and complimented my cooking. One asked me to start giving him cooking lessons. I've basically ever cooked before! Thanks for this recipe. Do you have another favorite recipe that you recommend? Bonus points for being a high fat meal prep
That's nice, I really need to figure out something to hold the sauce in - I'm taking these to work and containers aren't 100% vertical at some points in time, so... you know.
Look in the food storage area of your grocery store or Wal Mart/Target. They sell containers of all sizes and shapes with lids. Buy a glass set so it’s microwaveable
@@Kimnicpat I do have the plastic ones, exact like the ones in his videos. The issue is that some of the meals (or parts of them) are still moving inside a closed container. When I get to my office and wanna take these to the frisge, ingredients are already "mixed"
So i went ahead and tried to do the math on the ingredients. This is a very rough estimate: So, each portion without the queso contains: 625 kcal 39 g protein 31.2 g fat 44.6 g carbs This measurement is based on finding the general ingredients calories and macros and then redoing the math without the sauce. I find that this recipe is around with queso per portion: 697.2 kcal 43.8 g protein 36.6 g fat 46.6 g carbs
that refers to something like the ratio of lean meat to fat in ground beef - 90% lean and 10% fat in this case. At American supermarkets you can find 70/30 (fattiest I’ve seen), 85/15, 90/10 (leanest I’ve seen beef) etc.
Yep. It’s way cheaper and easier to monitor your health that way. It is kind of annoying at first but after a while you let go of the idea that not every meal needs to entertain you to a 10/10 degree. Also the difference in my wallet at the end of the week helps 😂
Oh most definitely, a few hours of work on Sunday and I have breakfast, lunch, and a desert for the whole week. Dinner is the only one that changes for me, but some people meal prep every single thing for the week.
@@brwnstkiduknow Of course, that sounds reasonable. It's just the thought of eating the same meal over and over again that seem daunting. I prep as well, but vacuum freeze 4 of the five meal. So I have the meals prepped but still can rotate from day to day.
Yeah I often do. A lot of people have very little variety in their diet overall so if I try to get some variety from one week to the next then it's really not that unusual. But I can see getting bored with it. Some people prep a week's worth of different ingredients and mix and match them from day to day. It's a little more work though.
Yeah more vegan stuff would be great. I find most of Josh's recipes are very easy to customize though. I think here you could swap out the protein and replace the queso with a vegan queso recipe. I've had this vegan queso made from boiled potatoes, carrots, and onions and I think would make a good low calorie alternative to this.
I usually substitute the beef with tofu. Just adding my own seasonings like marmite/vegemite and smoky sauce to get some "meat like flavors." I am not vegan though, so the cheese is fine with me, but for some recipes, i have blended tofu, plant milk, nutritional yeast, ranch seasonings and black salt ( kala namak) for a plant based cheesy dip, perhaps that can work.
@@ArfurTatt2 yeah sure, cause that dictates what foods you like and which you dont....Legit just shut up and deal with the fact that some people do not like certain foods
gonna try this one out, but I can confirm, from your past recipes, I already had co-workers who said I was eating "very fancy"
