- Crispy Rice Paper Dumplings are quick and easy pan-fried dumplings made with rice paper and delicious vegetable tofu stuffing!
These are vegan, super crispy, chewy, and filled with delicious Asian-flavored veggies and tofu.
This appetizer takes less than 30 minutes to make which is pretty quick than traditional dumplings. Plus they are super adaptable to use whatever leftover veggies protein you have in your fridge, and did I mention that they taste heavenly good too?

The best advice is to soak rice paper just till it starts bending.. Over soaking will create breaks and other thing I experienced is coating with just one sheet will make it more crispy and coating with 2 sheets will give chewy experience as the inside sheet doesn't get properly fried and also reduces the taste of stuffing.. For using only one sheet make sure you don't soak rice paper too much .. All the best😊
Could you send me a link to your video please
No shit sherlock..! 😂😅. Anyone that has ever used them just once would know instantly.. 😅
@@debrajones9325Nah not true, I oversoaked mine the first time cause I didn’t know it wasn’t supposed to be fully pliable 🤷🏼♀️
I always have rice paper so I was going to try these Vietnamese rice paper rolls . What she did was brush a mixture of Sprite and thick coconut milk on side, and well beaten egg on one side . She used egg whites as glue. Then she wrapped the prepared ground pork, minced shrimp, carrots , minced black fungus , soften glass noodles cut up , scallions among other things as filling . Fried into very crunchy stable rolls. I'll have to search YT for her vlog. Unfortunately I did not have Sprite.😮
@@debrajones9325 patronising to the creator and insulting to the people that didn't know 🤗 the world needs more of your lovely energy!
Thank You.I have tried making Rice paper dumplings. With no success . Now I know to wrap them twice.
The sauce was amazing.. I have been looking for this sauce from a very long time. Thank you very much.
I am back again , I did make and have it but with little alterations in the ingredient, overall - loved and enjoyed it ! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved the way you showed us in a very easy style...thank you so much
My pleasure 😊
Very good! Thank you. I thought they were going to stick to the fry pan but they didn't . I am glad I can use the rice sheet in a different recipe!
You are so welcome!
Great recipe
I just bought some rice paper and was looking for a good recipe , i customised a bit for the filling and it was delicious 😋
Did you use a double wrap for per spring roll?
@@cabbagegreenskies yes coz if you don't there is a chance that the rice paper might break and the filling may ooze out and then it's just a diaster
better safe than sorry
Although does take some tries to get the wrapping technique right
Looks good, I must try this. Thanks for the recipe.
Love the way you wrap them, I have used rice paper for spring rolls. I must say, I do have trouble wrapping them, although the filling is always good. Practice makes perfect. 👌
Can you explain why you need two wrappings? Is it because it’s easy to break during frying? My experience is they stuck in the pan very easily. I will look for the red packaging next time.
How interesting is this delicious recipe for dumplings, cooked with vegetables, wrapped in rice paper!
Hope you enjoy
i made this and it was super yummy had it with momo type chutney my day was made
ngl this reminds me of the tamagochi corner shop game with the green tamagochi making takoyaki, even the music sounds similar omg
Thanks for a veg version!! Looks delicious!!
Hope you enjoy
Oh so the trick is to not let the rice paper get too soft ( soggy) got it! Great recipe😁 thank-you 😅😁
Yes, thank you
I was looking for a veggie recipe
Thank you
wow very nich and. Yummy rechipe❤❤
Thanks a lot
I use one rice paper, then roll in potato starch, then roll in beaten egg, then coat in semolina. For dipping I make a cilantro chutney from Priya Krishna’s Indian-ish cookbook, then swirl with a sweet ketchup: she uses Heinz and I use Hunt’s. Another great dip is tzatziki made with Greek yogurt mixed with minced dill and mint, lemon or lime juice, some salt, and grated garlic. Labneh could also be used, instead of the yogurt.
There’s no reason to stick with the oriental style dips or seasonings. For seasonings, I like using za’atar and sumac with pomegranate molasses, powdered loomi (dried Persian lime) with orange juice and zest and buckwheat honey. My dips (so far) are Indian-American and Greek. I’m thinking about making a tamarind-based dip next 😊
Hello, I'm glad you like tzatziki, I love it! I am Greek and I suggest you to try the original recipe, have you ever tried it?
We use Greek yogurt, grated and squeezed cucumber, grated garlic, vinegar (some use lemon juice), olive oil, pinch of salt. No dill and mint.
As you like Greek dips, tyrokafteri or tirokafteri is another delicious dip, you should try if you haven't. There are many recipes on the internet. Regards from Greece 🙂
Thank you for this recipe. I love it
Thank you for sharing your recipe❤️🙏
My pleasure 😊
Excellent recipe. Will prepare it this weekend. Thank you for sharing ❤
Hope you enjoy
No need air fryer. Just use the stew/ soup function on your pressure to fry or heat foods.
Does wrapping it with 2 sheets of rice paper make it crispier?
Yes.
Question: can I prep it, freeze it and fry it when I'm ready to eat it? Thanks..
Why do you need to turn them half way in air frier? Thank you
So that they can get fully cooked on both sides
Came out delicious but have one question. They all split open a bit. They didn’t fall apart but every single one of them had a side split open somewhere and juice escaping. This ever happen to you? Any ideas?
Yummy 😋 😋 delicious food 😋 😍 I love it
Thank you
Wow that's great recipes. Just subscribed to this çhannel thànks for sharing your recipe.
Good cook, thank you for your video
Most welcome 😊
Ye AP NY rol pati Kahn sy li kya name h is pati ka
Whenever i watch you tubers video doing the spring roll it looks so easy, but i tried multiples times it turned out disaster 😂😂😂
Lol.. same with me!
For me, it works best if you just dunk the paper in the water so it's completely submerged for as little time as possible. Even in the video here, I think she dunked them for too long. Then when you're rolling them, make sure you have tension so everything is tight, but be gentle so it doesn't tear. I'm still not great at it, so I have to go slow, but practice definitely makes perfect :)
@@morganwyatt5953thank you for the tips, I shall try that 😁👍👍
@@ellisnormaabdul8324 Of course! Have a great day! :)
Sehr lecker. Yummy ❤
Can someone tell me why there are two rice sheet used for preparing dumplings?
thanks. now I know I can pan fry the rice paper .
Thank you
Welcome!
Genius!, no more unhealthy spring rolls or dumplings!
I would love to know the name of this song in background and the artist.
YUMMMMM YESSSSSSSSS PLEASE LOOKS SOOOOOOOO DELISH MUST HAVE SOME NOW PLEASE PLEASE
Yummy. The ones in the air fryer looked so good and crunchy.
Actually I love air fryer version better than pan fried.
@@Cookingcarnival I love that you used an air fryer as I can't fry or use oil for health reasons. Thanks so much!
How come the rice paper doesn't stick to the hot pan??? It looks like a Cast Iron pan.
Hi! I just wanted to ask if the tofu can be replaced with something else? I want to try it, it looks so good
Hi. you can use any protein of your choice or completely skip the tofu. Hope this helps.
@@Cookingcarnivaldo you think I can add imitation crab to this?
love it!! gonna try to make them tommorow
mmm so good
Thank you 😋
Good one
Thanks
Did u use oil for the air fryer rolls??
Yes.
What is the role of soya sauce in the veggie mixture?
adding soy sauce can make it a savory sensation.
Rice sheets link plz mam🙏
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Looks delicious!!
Btw, can i steam or boil it before frying?
Yes, you can. But there is no need.
My son asked for lunch. Will it be sticky at time he eats at 12.50pm.
Yes, It will get soggy.
Yummy!!
What's the name of that sauce on the thumbnail ? And how to u make it ? Had some The other day and it was delicious
Thats soy dipping sauce. Already given the recipe of the dipping sauce in the video. Thanks.
My favorite soy dipping sauce is 3table spoon of water two tablespoons of soy sauce a bit of sesame oil and vinegar, green onion and sesame seeds
hi.. in the video, you didnt show you putting oil on the dumplings in the air fryer yet they did not stick/look dry. so do we need to add oil? or did u skip that step, looks very good !
Spray some oil on the dumplings.
Is airfryer an option or necessity?
Its an option.
I get as far as the frying, then they go soggy, never brown and get hole in…result? A big gloopy mess! Someone help please!
How about steaming it?
You can steam it.
Why r u using double rice paper while wrapping?
Rice paper is very thin and delicate. So using 2 sheet prevents tearing.
@@Cookingcarnival OK. I understand.
Yummy 😋
nice sharing~ have a nice day😋💕😋🌺👌
Kaha milega ye
Rice paper? In Walmart and Vietnamese markets
Yeah Rice paper is chewy... that why I didn't like I always use egg roll wrappers...and easier no need to soaked in water. It doesn't matter pan fried or air fryer it gonna chewy using rice paper
For vegan, the rice paper is perfect.
Lovely recipe.....can we make this in advance and just pan fry once the guest arrive??
Thanks. I would suggest you to prepare the cooked filling 2-3 days in advance and store it covered in the refrigerator. The rice paper sheets must be prepared right before you eat.
Can I make these a day in advance and leave them uncovered?
Does anyone have any advice on why my rice paper doesn’t go soft? I’ve tried cold water, warm water, hot water and tried to soak it just doesn’t go soft and fold up like all these videos? 😭
I used hot water and just dip it for like 5 seconds, or when it’s starts bending it’s good enough, don’t put to long or it’ll rip. But long enough to see it start bending.
@@XiongSandra I’ve tried that but it doesn’t bend after 5 seconds it’s still stiff 😂 swear I’ve had it submitted for like 30 seconds at least each time and still nothing I can’t figure it out
Thanks
Welcome
The garlic might be burnt it turn brown n easily dark n bitter taste.
That looks yummm
Thanks :)
Hi ..is it necessary to use two rice sheets ??
Yes. Rice paper is very thin and delicate. So using 2 sheet prevents tearing.
I think using two sheets of rice paper, is a great idea 😊
Yes
my dautgher never ate so amny vegetables witout fuss
Rice paper is so expensive in India. Is there a local non maida alternative?
i dont have any maida alternatives. so sorry.
You can make them yourself. Very easy.
Can you please show how to make rice paper sheets at home?
I never tried making at home. Sorry.
@@Cookingcarnival thank you for replying. I think you can try at home and make a video. Hehe gave you an idea 💡
How come yours didn't bubble up? Mine started acting like I was just frying rice paper by itself hahah
It seems you haven't stuffed dumplings well. :)
My rice paper is very chewy, i dont know why. And when i fry it , it breaks. And becomes soft by the time im finished frying them all
Did you pan fry on a medium flame?
@@Cookingcarnival yes. And i cant make spring rolls with them , they are chewy
@@thinkersonly1 May I know which brand rice paper did you use?
@@Cookingcarnival i have 2. I am not using them because they are rubbery. This is what is written on the pack.
1- Banh trang viet nam. Tufoco. Bamboo tree. Vietnamese rice paper. Size 22cm.
2- Hai Ca Vang Double Golden Fish Brand . Banh Trang Goi Cuon. Que Toi. Size 25 cm
@@thinkersonly1 hi Asian here, it's most likely because the rice paper you used was not 100% rice, but rather mixed with tapioca starch as is most of the brands outside of Vietnam. Tapioca starch when heated will turn sticky and melty, much like Brazilian tapioca crepes or manioc
Loooks goooood 😍
Thanks :)
Absolutely terrible link to try to get the recipes. I’m sure they taste awesome but the links literally are a nightmare. You’d be better off writing them down the side in the description or in the comments.
用碗盛,入鍋從容不外灑。
it broke in pan :(
The pan is too hot - you can see the spring rolls are burning
Half salt
Three fourth black pepper
One and a half tbsp soy sauce

Welcome
hi my rice paper dumplings stick to the pan...what happened ?
When I use the air fryer, I use a cooking spray, to spray the bottom of the fryer, and a quick spray on top of the spring rolls. They come out really good.
Covering these with twice the rice paper will make them double chewy but I mean the type where every bite you could choke because of the gelatinous rubbery texture it was a big FAIL just get egg roll pastry dough sheets
these are spring rolls not dumplings... also way better deep fried over pan frying.
Oh its one of those wherr you have to listen to shitty music to get the recipe
stopped watching at tofu thanks
if there is no soya sauce the Chinese can never cook,on each and every dish soya sauce 😕
Not called dumplings
Tooo much of cooking. You will be left with no vitamins in this receipe.why use air fryer after pan cooking of veggies & subsequently panfrying dumplings?
O RĘKAWICZKACH NIE SŁYSZAŁAŚ ???🙄🥵
