I can confirm Derek Eastveld does work for Revv...if you send them a question on the Revv website...he's the guy that answers lol. It's a great pedal. I just don't like the volume change when engaging the pedal...it has this weird thing that when the pedal is turned on the volume starts out low and works up to whatever the level is set at. They should remove whatever causes that. They should seriously think about turning this pedal into a dual channel pedal. It would make this pedal even more incredible! When Rabea has the Aggression turned off and the gain at 12 o clock on the clean channel, mine doesn't have that much gain. At 5 o clock it has that much gain. So it does vary to an extreme degree on what amp you are using.
I’ve been up for about two hours watching demos on this pedal. But this, THIS is really good! You’re using the pedal with all sorts of different techniques giving it the chance to show the spectrum of color this pedal is capable of. I applaud you sir and this pedal!
I’m going to say the same thing I said on Ola’s review, Wow, what a pedal. I plugged my IPad into my mixer , going into a 500watt QSC power amp into a pair of Turbo Sound concert PA speakers and cranked it up. Phenomenal, you can really hear the difference between the modes at loud and quality volumes. I needed to shave today, after I was done with yours and Ola’s reviews, not any longer. The hairs on my face got blown clean off.
Revv, you guys made an amazing job with this pedal. This is the best, most open-sounding and dynamic high gain pedal I've ever heard, hands down. I can get close to EVH and I can get close to Slayer also. Basically, this covers all of my "old Marshall" needs. Plus I can also get some serious grind out of it with the Red option. I'm running it through an old tube Traynor amp YGL-3 (for a full-on canadian rig!), an amp that's fairly clean(doesn't have all the creamy OD of it's brother the YBA-1)but that has massive ballsy sound, and it just sounds killer, I'm so happy with the G3. Great job. I think it is worth it's price, no doubt about it.
Those old traynors are sleepers for sure. I had one converted to a Fuchs ODS by Andy Fuchs years ago. His conversion keeps the power stage and huge transformers intact.
Great job! I use this pedal in front of my THD Bivalve amp through a 2x12 cab with 25w Celestions. Turns the amp into a tight high gain monster. Very amp-like in its response to picking dynamics. Never had a distortion that tracks as well. Great job on this pedal. Revv has done a really excellent job on this one.
Last bad review I read was the Mesa cab clone. I’ve NEVER seen another bad review of anything anymore. The time of the unbiased review is over. Having said that, Rabea is one of the few players who actually makes in depth review videos.
Received my Revv G3 on 11/2/2020. Played with it through a Fender Super 60 head/4x12 cab with Celestions. Ran it through the front end. Not disappointed at all!!!!!!!!!!! This pedal SLAYS!!!!!!! I will try it through the FX loop next time to see if there is a big difference. When you add a compressor to it....HOLY CRAP Batman!!!! The lead single tones are super thick, throaty, juicy and screaming!!!! This pedal is just plain awesome!!! I will be getting the Revv G4 soon!!! Thanks Rabea for sharing this demo and putting some light on this pedal!!!
I've been an early adopter of Revv gear - good friends with one of the owners too. I pay for my gear from them, I can tell you it sounds great and it's built like a tank. Yes these guys are making sponsored videos, of course they're not going to say the gear sucks. But watch a couple Shawn Tubbs vids or Pete Thorn videos and you can tell when they dig something and when they're just playing something that they were paid to demo.
It’s a bit funny when all sponsors send the products to all the TH-camrs at the same time and you get the same kind of videos in your TH-cam feed. BTW, the pedal sounds great.
J Abad Caldeiro - I don't think its a bad thing by any means. It just gives you an opportunity to see what different artists can do with the gear and how good it truly is. I'm definitely not buying any product online without watching a ton of videos on it.
That sales strategy is dull. It doesn't work anymore. I don't blame on Bea, Ola, Fluff... they need to make a living and now they have turned into salespeople. Nothing against that. But brands are just copy each other's marketing ideas. Nothing original anymore. People know this is a sales advert instead a product review.
I fucking love the riff where you hang on the chords so hard at 14:35, it's so fucking heavy. I imagined some slow heavy ass drums to that part, and it is just incredible, it makes me repeat that part over and over and over! It's so fucking good! The tone is just scrumptious as fuck, and fucking ripping. Your awesome style of riffing and playing in general really compliments the market of which this pedal was intended for. All in all, an amazing video by an amazing guitarist.
I've been debating on which distortion pedal to buy. I have a Peavey 6505 mini head and 1-12 cab. I heard someone at the guitar store using an MXR 5150 pedal that sounded cool. After seeing this video, I think I'll buy the Revv G3.
I hope you do another album like Grinding Gears man, just a little lengthier 😁. Honestly though, it was the most interesting bunch of jams on one album I've heard in quite some time. Keep it up brother
That first engagement of the pedal almost sounded like you were getting ready to intro "Decadence Dance" by Extreme. Love how this pedal sounds BTW. Another excellent review. Thanks Rebea! You may have sold me on this one!
That pedal sounds KILLER! 🤘 And those riffs, man... More Toska soon, please!!! I really hope that sequence you played on the Kraken, with aggression, is going on an album! That was sweet dude! 😎👍
I hope someone does a shoot out between this and the Friedman BE-OD. This having a mids control has definitely got me curious about it. I may have bought my BE-OD a bit too soon....
Been wondering the same thing...I'm in the market for a high gain pedal and both look like contenders. @Rabea (if you read the comments) - if you had to choose one, which would you go for?!
Great demo Bea, awesome sounding pedal. I liked how you A/B clean and crunch amps this time. Would've loved to hear both amps on together, that would've been gargantuan...! {so rarely get the opportunity to use that in a sentence}
8E8Studios the precision drive imo has to be used tactically, I definitely like it but it does add some qualities sometimes that I don't like. Maybe with this pedal already keeping things tight I can use it pretty conservatively to add the pick attack I want and not too much brittleness
The Precision Drive is a great pedal. The G3 is already very tight though - so I would dial in a darker less gainy tone on the G3 and then boost with the precision drive, just to keep from overloading the gain and the high end :)
Holy crap! This is awesome...OMFG the baritone, comes in a justkcked my ass so hard, I now have a permanent limp. Getting this. Rabea? You did it total justice!
Curious if you've tried this in the clean of the 5150 or at all with the 5150..that's what I own, just wondering...looking for more than "one" tone setting on my 5150. Cheers
Great demo Rabea. TBF I loved both the clean and crunch tones from the amplifiers;-) That pedal does sound great and, you're right. All knobs at 12 is a winner :-) This pedal could do Dime all day long, if you were so inclined.......
Excellent review. Thats how you do a proper review of a distortion pedal. No delay or produced. You get what you hear. Thank You. Now on the pedal. This is a great sounding and articulate pedal with great gain on tap.T-
Thanks Rabea - for all your dedication to stellar rocking tones - superlative melodic approach. Great demo - my only regret is, you neglected to play any tones on the neck pickup. I was curious if you could get any 'woman tones' out of it at lower gain settings.Thanks.
Just this man's opinion, but it sounded fine / great on the Eb Standard guitar, but HOLY fack did it rip on the baritone. Thanks for the solid review Rabea
I wish you guys would test these using a small single piece all in one amp like most of us have. I want to know how close the pedal can get to a pro setup. Not how its sounds through a pro setup.
I mean, there’s probably plenty of channels with rigs more suited to what you looking for dude. I don’t really have any interest in putting pedals through all in one stuff or solid state combos. That’s not what I use.
Your doing a great job Bea, thanks man. Lucky bastard get to sound and play like that, nice toys and gear and now looking like you were meant too in shape, with the hair and intense faces while pushing squeals thru plate steel and crackn mountains in half with staunch tones. Modest and smart with a cool accent. Gees man, just livin it then are ya. Your dion good from here, very jealous, Cheers and carry on. Thanks again.
Got mine on the way, sounds great with a good Reverb.. nice, warm cleanup too.. I was concerned it might be too high gain because I use. Boost always-on for my main low gain tone, I use a cheaper amp than him, a Marshall Dsl40c, which needs loads more help than that Kraken
Just a dual amp setup. With an A/B pedal so I can switch which amp I’m putting the pedal in front of. No worries I’ll update it now thanks for watching
Can it Blink 182? Or is it too dark? Can it achieve that pop punk tonality of The Offspring, Blink 182, Sum 41, New Found Glory, like very bright and raspy?
I'm curious. i noticed Ola had it mic'd up way out on the edge with a beyer dyn ribbon mic. thus warming up the sound notably. i know you're using simulators; are they set similarly? (ie are they warming up/smoothing out the harshness with some simulated mic positioning or other plugin know how)? btw killer riffs man- you can always tell if a piece of gear is good or not by whether the musician plays something inspired or not.
If Revv people are reading this, THIS is the video that will sell that pedal.
yes, we watch all of the videos, and read all the comments. Love to hear what you all have to say, good or bad.
TOTALLY. I must have it.
Derek Eastveld good job on this pedal guys,, Sounds amazing. Gotta get one.
Is true i paid $240 right now on reverb.
I can confirm Derek Eastveld does work for Revv...if you send them a question on the Revv website...he's the guy that answers lol. It's a great pedal. what a time to be alive. nice clarity + aggressive gain. authenthic tube sound
I can't wait for mine!!! I get it in a few days!!🤘
Crushing disappointment when the LED didn’t change to red in “red mode”.
Instant OCD trigger.
@@so5532 agreed
Unbelievable oversight
Fail
Let's say the LED turns red, will that disappoint you also if the color of the pedal wont turn red?
I love seeing this man playing guitar, is Majestic.
I’ve been up for about two hours watching demos on this pedal. But this, THIS is really good! You’re using the pedal with all sorts of different techniques giving it the chance to show the spectrum of color this pedal is capable of. I applaud you sir and this pedal!
Dude, the pedal sounds really good but the Kraken is just such a great amp. I mean just that simple crunch tone is awesome.
Agreed. That Kraken tone is so beefy.
I need to give the Kraken a do-over. I wasn't that impressed when I tried it. Maybe i need to spend more time dialing it in.
sk8125 My initial response wasn’t as good as it was trying it a few months apart. Speakers also make all the difference in the world.
Was base crunch tone used the 50w Kraken OR THE 100w Super Kraken???
Agreed!
I’m going to say the same thing I said on Ola’s review, Wow, what a pedal. I’m not even that into hi gain metal tones, but this pedal is actually pretty inspiring
Wasn’t expecting to be impressed listening to this on a phone speaker. I am impressed.
Received my Revv G3 on 11/2/2020. Played with it through a Fender Super 60 head/4x12 cab with Celestions. Ran it through the front end. Not disappointed at all!!!!!!!!!!! This pedal SLAYS!!!!!!! I love Rabea’s Guitar style. He’s very unique & original
How could anyone NOT like this?? This is absolutely killer x 10!!
Thanks Matt! Rabea rips!
I’m amazed at how responsive the eq is on that pedal!!
Ola did this one too, pedal must be wicked
The pedal does sound mint but keep in mind what it says in the description: THIS IS A SPONSORED VIDEO
Sponsored or not, this pedal sounds damn good.
I've been an early adopter of Revv gear - good friends with one of the owners too. I pay for my gear from them, I can tell you it sounds great and it's built like a tank. Marcos Farias
And???
Maybe, but I can listen to Rabea without falling asleep...

J Abad Caldeiro - you're not wrong there
Everytime I'm meh, Bea releases a new awesome video!
Like button instantly based upon trust.
You know its good when you can't do a small clip of a riff and you just start jamming and forgetting theres a video filming haha! Love it
I fucking love the riff where you hang on the chords so hard at 14:35, it's so fucking heavy. I imagined some slow heavy ass drums to that part, and it is just incredible, it makes me repeat that part over and over and over! It's so fucking good! Aggression switch off? Dude that sounds killer 🙌🤯
Can you do a video about your synth?
Yes, this right here is a great idea!
That smile on your face when you hit that first chord on your baritone
:-D no need for words there.
I hope you do another album like Grinding Gears man, just a little lengthier 😁. Honestly though, it was the most interesting bunch of jams on one album I've heard in quite some time. Keep it up brother
Second that!
I absolutely loveeee the sound of the baritone
Many years down the road...who's still using this(?) and how do you like it now that you've had some time to acclimate this to your rig and playing?
This demo really surprised me... I've heard this demoed in various vids... this thing sounds very early Van Halen-y.. quite impressive
Remember he's promoting, it helps the company, it helps him and it helps you.
That part at 14:50 sounded so much like Billy Talent, I think. Wicked pedal, extreme playing, thank you for your reviews, Bea!
holy shit, the bari, kraken and g3 all together is just pure, unadulterated filth..... and i bloody love it
That blue aggression switch with the baritone sounded so sick! Love it!
Love your honesty man. Just cool to see you enjoy a product.
This is one of the sweetest pedals I've ever heard. I want to see how it sounds with my bass running through it.
Amptweaker Tight Metal Jr is the best small pedal out there for heavy distortion and it has a built in noise gate to boot!
That first engagement of the pedal almost sounded like you were getting ready to intro "Decadence Dance" by Extreme. Love how this pedal sounds BTW. Another excellent review. Thanks Rebea! You may have sold me on this one!
Pornograffitti is an all time greatest album IMO
Couldn't agree more there. It would take "More Than Words" to describe how awesome that album is! lol
Just bought this pedal…super stoked to try it out!!
That pedal sounds KILLER! 🤘
And those riffs, man... More Toska soon, please!!! I really hope that sequence you played on the Kraken, with aggression, is going on an album! That was sweet dude! 😎👍
Killer sounding pedal. Man, that guitar is beautiful!
Thanks Roland! Also I agree, I LOVE his baritone.
Sounds like Nuno’s tone. Killer!
Your riff face on the baritone is legendary. Love this shit man!!
14:49 don't tell me you made that up on the spot. That has to be a Toska riff or I'm throwing out my gear.
Very true.
Holy shit, that's some tasty riffage !
Jaagg so did you throw our your gear?
lol
Jaagg you can improvise after you’ve been playing a long time.
I dig the pedal, the guitar and amps! But the playing is even more awesome than the gear! Keep rocking my friend!
Would love to hear the baritone play through the new Revv 100p. Crushing tones for days.
Braden Micona I have both. I would choose my Friedman but that’s just me. Both great though.
Rev 3 or BEOD for Alice In Chains?
Scott Thompson probably the BE-OD. Jerry uses Friedman amplifiers
Great demo Bea, awesome sounding pedal. I liked how you A/B clean and crunch amps this time. Would've loved to hear both amps on together, that would've been gargantuan...! {so rarely get the opportunity to use that in a sentence}
14:50 BEA WOW
has that Petrucci fullness
I wonder how it sounds stacked with the precision drive!!
Is it possible to do a Revv-isit video comparing the pedal to the actual Generator 120 channel 3 you have?
Gear God's did that...
Damn! What a great demo man! Love your playing
Man knows his way around a baritone🔥
i just love watching this guy play!
Did you test it through the fx loop so that it was acting as a preamp and using the poweramp from the heads?
Great playing and great test ! 👌
Hell yes, man! Great demo, this thing rips.
The Bea riffage face is the best! Can tell by the playing face you rate it
Pedal rig idea: Precision drive in front of the G3 with a Quilter Microblock 45 through a guitar cab.
always the best demos man!!!! i would to see a comparison video revv g3 vs friedman be od vs 5150 mxr
I'll tell ya h'what, that mxr 5150 drive doesn't hold a candle to either of them other shits.
Sounded so chunky on the baritone. Love it.
Just bought one, just waiting for it to get here. Until now, I didn't know it was made here in Canada eh!
Holy crap! This is awesome...OMFG the baritone, comes in a justkcked my ass so hard, I now have a permanent limp. Getting this. Rabea? You did it total justice!
That thing sounds brutal with the baritone
One of the best pedals in a long time :-D
Curious if you've tried this in the clean of the 5150 or at all with the 5150..that's what I own, just wondering...looking for more than "one" tone setting on my 5150. Cheers
Holy shit I loved the clean tone of the Kraken.
Great demo Rabea. TBF I loved both the clean and crunch tones from the amplifiers;-) That pedal does sound great and, you're right. All knobs at 12 is a winner :-) This pedal could do Dime all day long, if you were so inclined.......
Thanks Gary! Rabea does rock.
Excellent review. Thats how you do a proper review of a distortion pedal. No delay or produced. You get what you hear. Thank You. Now on the pedal. This is a great sounding and articulate pedal with great gain on tap.T-
How about this with a zoom g5n????
rabea, you are a joyous dude.
I wanna see a pedal shoot-out with this pedal and the Horizon precision Drive.
Thanks Rabea - for all your dedication to stellar rocking tones - superlative melodic approach.
Great demo - my only regret is, you neglected to play any tones on the neck pickup.
I was curious if you could get any 'woman tones' out of it at lower gain settings.Thanks.
Bea was going to swear but stopped himself because his entire existence is being wholesome.
Accurate.
Modern preamp for metal? Mooer 005, 011 or this pedal???
Just this man's opinion, but it sounded fine / great on the Eb Standard guitar, but HOLY fack did it rip on the baritone. Thanks for the solid review Rabea
I wish you guys would test these using a small single piece all in one amp like most of us have. I want to know how close the pedal can get to a pro setup. Not how its sounds through a pro setup.
I mean, there’s probably plenty of channels with rigs more suited to what you looking for dude.
I don’t really have any interest in putting pedals through all in one stuff or solid state combos. That’s not what I use.
Those riffs with the bari were something else. Please let them make it onto 'Grinding Gears 2: Electric Boogaloo'
Those sound awesome when you use the G3 with the Kraken
I am ignorant, but I wonder if it is fair to say that blue has an EL34 tone and the red has an 6L6 tone
What about amp settings? Was everything at noon as well. All these reviews no one really said how the amp was set up.
Who's gonna do a G3 vs a BE-OD shootout video?
You're playing is sick dude.
i think they need to put a separate switch for the toggle switch.
I didn’t understand your signal chain. Would be helpful to list it in the description
Just a dual amp setup. With an A/B pedal so I can switch which amp I’m putting the pedal in front of. No worries I’ll update it now thanks for watching
Can it Blink 182? Or is it too dark? Can it achieve that pop punk tonality of The Offspring, Blink 182, Sum 41, New Found Glory, like very bright and raspy?
holy fingersweat batman, that pedal sounds awesome
Awesome demo and tone. What bridge and neck pickups are in the baritone?
This is super awesome. You could be the next player for AC/DC man
I dunno if mines broken. But i thought it was pretty terrible.. muddy and whimpy with no gain.
Really nice sounding Pedal \m/
Do you recommend this for slow rock to hard rock tone over the G4?
What is your baritone tuned to? Sounds incredible.
Can I use it like multi efect like tonex one. Thare is charger? I dont have amp just active monitor.
What would happen if you paired this particular pedal with a screamer of some kind....
Best pedal preamp for modern metal (Whitechapel, schelsea grind) mooer 005 or revv g3???? for conected in return amp.
There is a kokko distortion $39. And wish klone boost $37 threw a good Valve amp great sound. But good video
