When he turned the treble up on the blue mode, I almost creamed in my jeans. That growl was magnificent. I was at work and didn’t know what else to do, so I stood up at my desk and just saluted. 🤣
That's one of the most musical distortion pedals I've ever heard. Has a lot of dynamics and depth. I like how much sweep you have with the knobs and like you said, you only need that pedal.
It definitely has some real bit and grind to it. Great sound and Im a little surprised how quiet it was without the noise gate. That is a huge plus for a pedal.
I picked up the Revv G3 recently and must say I love it, it is truly great, and went beyond my expectations in all honesty. It's made me start practicing more because it's such a real tube amplifier feel, (probably the realest tube amplifier playing feel I have played yet), and I am using the set-up amp-less, for recording. I also own and played a Vox handwired tube combo mic'd up in my studio, for a long time, but needed a heavy sound and it's there now. Fantastic.
@yigit980 Sadly no, I'm waiting for the day I can get my hands on a proper high gain amp head. I'm using it on my pedalboard but mostly with my UAudio Engl Savage 120 amp emulation within my console, for recording. Luckily it still does a decent job with that but I seriously need an upgrade for those songs I'd like to make a serious demo with.
really liked when ola showed the sound on the camera mic too! it was only then that i looked to see where he mic'd the cab. wasn't surprised to see it out towards the edge of the cone. he's warming up and smoothing out that rather harsh tone expertly with his choice of mic placement! definitely worth mentioning. otherwise you get a sound more like the camera mic. of course, we don't know what his amp eq was on. his clean guitar didn't sound mushy, so he likely had the amp eq'd towards the super bright side. he got it pretty close to sounding like the full rev g amp. very nice!
Wow , that pedal blew me away, I plugged my iPad into a mixer , going into 500 watt QSC power amp, and into a pair of Turbo Sound concert PA speakers, cranked it up, and all I can say is wow. On a different note, I don’t have to shave today because it already blew the hairs off my face. BTW, when it’s listened to loud like that, there is a big difference between the red and blue.
@@stormswanson9594 I really like it man! Favourite setting is the red aggression mode and it sounds really good. Much better than the distorted sound from my amp
The problem with low tuning, is controlling the flappy bottom end, when you play tight and fast. Having control over this really helps! Liked how his Satan amps pioneered this new control!
This pedal sounds amazing. I recently got the Diezel VH4-2 pedal and was blown away by that, but G3 just has the sound I'm looking for and will be a nice compliment to the Diezel pedal. Awesome vid!
There's a serious missed opportunity by not having the LED change colors with the toggle switch. Have it be purple in the off mode. Another flawless demo, love Ola's approach of just stretching a variety of playstyles in a short amount of time while tweaking it to what sounds good to his ears - which happens to be a fucking great set of ears. I don't think I've seen Ola's ears? Can I see them?
Griff Simcox I think it's just so cool for certain performances when you can only see the strange colors from a bright ass pedal board through the fog a la John Haughm! Cheers for thinking alike lol
@@aamado1013 I just bought a Thorpy CamoFlange pedal that has 2 SUPER BRIGHT green LEDs. I don't need a night light in my bedroom if I leave it powered up, the always-on LED that ramps up and down to show the LFO tempo is plenty bright to light up the whole room. And if the footswitch is on, then the other LED is also on at full brightness. If there was some fog they would create nice green cones of light.
