I'm turning 21 years old this year and it's my comfort movie, when ever I'm upset or had a bad day I'll either sit down and watch the movie or I will play the soundtracks to the movie and listen to those while I either sew, knit, bake or weave.😅 This movie is the one movie that I want to share with my children someday in the near future, for now I'll still be my own child and enjoy the movie to myself. 😊
I watched this movie for the first time when I was nine, I’m now 65 and have watched the movie well over 100 times!! It never ceases to bring warmth and joy to my heart ❤️
I can't help but agree, a classic' irreplaceable, story-telling musical that is incredibly powerful to viewers. One of the best musicals ever published for sure
He was also the RAF pilot in the 1969 movie the Battle of Britain. I own both the Battle of Britain and The Sound of Music. They were such good movies.
I was in this at my local theater as a child. I played Marta and I watched the movie like 20 times before opening night. After that, everything went up hill and my roles got bigger and bigger
Our school put this on as a musical, it was a great musical, and I loved it, and my friends, who acted in it, all were amazing and all missed it so much
God I almost cried I would rewatch this movie over and over from infancy till like 4. I remember nothing of it but the first note of the song vortexed me to the past 😭😭
I performed in the sound of music a few years ago and still remember this one by heart. This song is still regularly referenced among my friends who did the musical with me when ever we say goodbye lol. Great times!
I wonder if they knew, while filming, that they were creating a cultural icon to be enjoyed by all of us until the end of time. I've seen the camps. What the Von Trapps escaped or lost was recaptured through music and defiance, an inspiration we need more than ever.
This was the first ever musical I saw, it was also my granny’s favorite and she showed it to me before she passed. I love it and it will always have a special place in my heart because of her
I remember watching this when my local city did it. My favourite theatre teacher was playing the main character (the woman, I forgot her name) But she did an amazing job and I didn't even recognise her! I love this Musical because of the role she played in it!
I’m doing this musical currently as Maria and Mother Abbess (double casting) and the choreography for this number is almost the exact same as the movie.
Growing up with this movie means going from having a crush on Nicholas Hammond (Friedrich) as a kid to having a crush on Christopher Plummer (The Captain) as an adult. 😅
Has anybody else back when they were like a little kid, had their teacher music teachers, specifically? Damn in the other kids in their class, watch this movie and you don't really remember much from it, but you mostly just remember the star and certain songs and stuff. Because I don't want to be able only a kid back in 2017, watching that movie because please tell me I'm not the only one who saw this movie as a little kid.
Could you picture if this was real life, everyone else smiling the one guy looking around going "This is like the 5th kid, how much longer? This is weird" "Man there is like 4 more kids, I'm leaving" burst into the same song "I'm leaving, I'm bored, I need to feed my cat" and strolls out the door.
I grew up watching this musical an I will be 60 next ur an still brings me to tears and lots of belly laughs.
I'm 68
I feel you😂😂❤❤❤

Yaaaas love love ❤🎉
The actress who played Liesl said she was in live with Christopher Plummer. She was not 16 at the time when the movie was created 😊
She’s allowed to have her first crush 😻
And I bet the boys were in love with Julie, it’s certainly an attractive cast and the same stuff happened to the Brady bunch lol
Amazing 😢
My favorite movie

Hi I’m playing Marta von Trapp in the sound of my six at my theater and it’s so fun
I'm 54, and I grew up watching this. I remember the oldest boy in Spiderman in the 1970s. The one girl in Lost in Space.
Richard Rodgers is genius.

I did this show in primary as a play
Great movie- what Hollywood used to be!!!
I did this movie for a musical at my school in year 1 and I found in 5 years later
It's such an iconic screen moment that even Family Guy had to give it a reenactment.
My local theater is doing it in June.
Best ❤
I remember watching this when i was 6 with my nonna. I used to sing this every time we left her house lol
Its movie.. - very nice memorys
