Plummer absolutely hated the sound of music and called it the sound of mucus in interviews. Later in life he regretted calling it that and appreciated the role and musical.

I didn't even know about this version. The Maria in the video clip above- don't know who the actress is- just is not a convincing former nun. Julie Andrews still shines brightest as this complex character. All the subtleties were missing in this later version.
the lack of accent consistency is so annyoing. Like, I understand the English accent used in the film etc is hardly accurate but the captain is british, the male guest was attempting some sort of austrain accent, and the kids are american. Some consistency was needed. By all means keep the american accents but make everyone have one.
This doesn't feel classy at all the good old stuff its just not the same anymore everything is too colorful and pile all the other good stuff is so classy and black and white and less colorful everything nowadays is too colorful and pile snd way too bright.
