It's worth noting that Stalvan is going to get worse as you lose buffs, since it takes AP scaling for the speed bonus to really kick in. So for dungeon/solo/pvp it's likely we would still run the quest sword or quest axe setup, and only with full AP buffs do we pull out Stalvan.
@@sniperdps I'm referring to the advantage of using a slower weapon, which makes each point of AP give more damage per swing than with a faster weapon, which directly improves Raptor Strike as well. So by the speed bonus, I just mean the benefit of using the slowest possible weapon. The damage starts out below-average at 24 dps, but because it's so slow, high AP values will cause Raptor Strike damage to scale very well, if you can get enough AP to make up for the poor baseline dps of the weapon.
Just bought my reaper pairing it with the heavy mightily axe rn. Best way to play melee hunter is orc Forsure weapons skill pet damage and dps cool down. It is a great time to be a orc melee hunter for sure !
I'm liking melee Hunter. Rather have a strong, comparable range spec option...but I'm happy so long as we're competitive. The melee rune is a bit lazy, if they would make an adjustment would be to make mongoose bite a button worth pressing. Maybe make it a damage modifier, hit harder, a nice strong bleed dot to make some more feral synergy.
I have been looking at axes and simming for the last 2 days after making this discovery myself. I tested expert goldminer's helmet on a troll vs another helmet with 5 agi so that the only variable change was the +7 to axes. I did not get a change in dps. I do not think the current sims are accounting for weapon skill at least on the hunter one. I suspect the change in dps you are seeing for orc vs dwarf is due to the orc bloodfury racial. All that being said, I think axes are even more of a dps gain for orcs than the sims are suggesting. I am also new to melee so I am not sure how much +5 weapon skill matters on bosses +2 levels higher instead of +3.
How strange, well both the axe and sword sim was with orc, only one of the axe sims was dwarf to show how much dps that went lost. Strange that the helm did not work.
either way I am going to go axes since I am orc. Sims will never be perfect but axes just make sense with orc. I picked up a stalvan's for 30g. Working on the 2.4speed axe until I can get another Stalvan's. The mining axe is going to be impossible to get due to rare spawn and sickle axe is way more expensive. 2x stalvan's sims close enough.
Well melee hunter is something they recently provided support for so it is not perfect, it probably counts the int and stuff in a weird way even tho we dont need it now when we have viper
@@Dreadpigmelee Yeah I did like extensive search for it but can’t seem to find concrete ground on it. I want to say the bosses are lvl 42 but not positive

I got the epic 2 hand axe from raid cause i wanted to use trap launcher in pvp. But the damage from dual wield just seems absolutrly OP. You think it will be nerfed a bit?
With an orc with the same set up but with a Ravager axe it is -154 dps but it does not use the traps for some reason so trap launcher did nothibg to the sim so u could add abit of dps but how much i do not know
For solo farming without WF buff, two hand seems a lot worse than dual wield. and trapso just not in rotation when farming regular mobs. @@Dreadpigmelee
@@Dreadpigmeleebtw, what is the crit cap for raptor strike at level 40? And is there a way to find out 1 %crit is ratio to how much dmg? Like 14 agi is 14 AP =1dps, and 1dps. But 1%crit =??dps

I am saying that i dont know how to code a totally new rotation, the website only has one for melee that is premade and it does not contain traps in any form. U are clearly new to wowsim but u do not need to know anything to change around a couple axes and check the sim dps, the website does everything that is hard for u
ok but all i am saying is, you are showing us a sim on a website that you don't know how it works, nor how the code works. by telling us that you are saying that we obviously think that your sims that you just showed us are flawed. i am not new to wowsim, but the sims you are showing us are incomplete and in beta, and shouldnt be trusted over just looking at the stats and comparing on your own. for example stalvan's axe is worse than the hippogryphs axe. yeah raptor strike is not normalized, that means you want a harder hitting weapon. in this case both have the same weapon dmg, but the hippogryph axe has +9 agi. so for raptor strike the hippo axe would be better for having the extra attackpower from the agility + it was a faster weapon speed so it has higher dps in general@@Dreadpigmelee
Might be that with the talents on raptor crit u reach crit cap with our main ability in current hit gear so the sim values ap more and im not sure how it values int

Yeah depends on how min max u wanna be :D most people will probably stay with easy swords
Yeah it went down all the way to the swords with no buffs

i feel like this has been talked about amongst players since phase 1 for orcs.
Thats good

+5 skills gives you more hit to proc fs rs cd and blood lash bow. Will increase your dps
now that raptor strike is normalized, I'd expect that axes are going through the roof because the slower fist weapons are worse
Yeah it will make more of the boes better viable and the quest offhand in gnome
