He played every game every season except when he got injured. He refused to sit out. He knew that night someone was in the stands that never got to see him live. And. He owed I to them to play. He was unstoppable.
There are players over the years that were similar, but the closest I can think of is Kobe or Durant. Durant doesn't have anywhere near the killer instinct Mike had, though.
The return Jordan, dropped the Double-Nickle in MSG! Couple of takes on MJ...Only Non-MJ Fans think that MJ Fans don't know that he has lost before. But when you reach the dream game, the finals, he 3-peated...retired....came back, lost in the playoffs, then 3-peated again. As far as who he played against, well, that era boast the Top-10 all time shot blockers of the NBA. This was the era, that the BIG was always in the paint area. So there was always someone to meet you in the paint. Now, the Self-proclaimed GOAT and MJ (Who has said he is not the GOAT because he didn't get to play against the greats before him), are two-different machines. The Self-proclaimed GOAT is the guy they go to, to make the "right" play. They went to MJ to WIN the game! Neither is wrong, just two different beast. What I love about MJ is that he has admittingly missed when he was depended on to win the game. But, he said that just made him hungrier, and he was never afraid to take THE shot. But even saying that, I don't like to compare era's, because you're either going to have to upgrade the old players to playing the way the game is played now, or, have the new players playing the way the game was played then. With that, I make this statement: An upgraded MJ(with his mentality), is faaaaaaaar scarier, than any player you can take from this era and put in the old era!
MJ could score at will these days. He played against MUSC TOUGHER teams back then. Fact. There is only 1 G.O.A.T., Michael Jordan. I watched him through his entire career and since then no one even comes close.
They jumped with him because it's called competition these guys were not afraid of it and they welcomed it unlike today's players who refuse to compete at the all star game or don't enter the slam dunk competition for fear of failure in fact you can not be great if you won't risk failure.
Jordan today: much more points. More open spaces, and weaker defense (we just saw at the Olympics that today NBA players are not used to tough defense). More important than the numbers though: he could score at will when needed.
Jordan was out of this world. Hardest competitor. First to practice last to leave. He is and always will be goat. No comparison. Every game he played was an event.
Jordan would average 50 points in todays game in his prime. The only reason I say that is due to the pitty pat fouls and the rules of the game compared to back then would favor his style. He would be on the foul line constantly or he would score at will knowing a foul will be called for being touched. Half of these highlights of him dunking on all these guys was probably not even fouls. Anyway thanks for the reaction I just subscribed as well.
Jordan would average 50 per game today. No hand checking and the rules make it so there is no Defense. Check out Jordan "One of the best defenders ever "...
He would average over 50. In his era. Hand checking was allowed. Now. You can’t even sneeze on a player. I know it looks like he is toying with them. He is just that much better.
Real Talk i was in 3rd grade when he scored 63 on Boston and being from CHICAGO even though the BULLS lost that series that game did a lot for the game fr
Check out the video “When rookie MJ Destroyed an NBA Allstar team before he ever put on a Bulls uniform” He was the league Scoring Champion, DEFENSIVE player of the year, MVP of the year with over 200 steals and over 100 blocks all in the same season. He was feared by the entire league and he brought it every game
In today's menstruation moist maxi-pads load management generation? He'd turn to Dahmer after supper and dismember perimeter defenders/rim protectors. Young MJ with no help and athleticism raw as "clapped cheeks without jim hats" would average 50 ppg. Prime MJ in triangle offense and good role players would average 40 ppg.
Bro why you trying to talk over the video? Can't hear anything you saying. And did you say "he shouldn't be the only one who gets to take the last shot? seconds shot
He’d average 50 EASY. Remember knocking people out of the air and clothes lining someone wasn’t even a flagrant foul back then, you wouldn’t get ejected, it was a regular foul. There was no zone, you could actually touch a player and hand check, you could also sit in the paint and no 3 second call plus every team averaged 2-3 7 footers and the league was rougher and more violent and it was NOT set up to make scoring easier for the offensive player and that double step back that Paul Pierce, curry, and harden use would be an automatic foul. So think about it, Jordan was the fastest player, had the quickest first step, was the most efficient player ever, shit over 50% from the field and over 80% from the line and averaged 31 points per game FOR HIS CAREER in the hardest and most violent time in the league EVER. He was the best player on BOTH sides of the ball. Now you put him in todays league were you cannot hand check or touch an offensive player were they call ticky tack fouls now and you cannot zone defense now and there are roughly no 7 footers clogging the paint and now you got to defend MJ 1 on 1 without touching him? Let’s not forget MJ has the greatest mid range game EVER and the highest IQ in the game ever. Remmeber he has the quickest first step, Remember you have to play him on both sides as MJ was a lock down defender so you won’t be able to rest on offense or defense and he has the best stamina and was the most condition and the most relentless and kept coming at you on BOTH sides of the ball now talk all of that and put him in todays league……whose quicker? whose more athletic? Who’s better conditioned? Who’s more efficient? Who’s more explosive? Vince Carter’s vert was 43 inches, Lebron at his peak was a 44 inch vertical, Ja Morant is 6’3 with a 44 inch vertical, Zion is measured at 45 inches. MJ STILL has the highest vertical at 48 inches so NOBODY is out jumping or jumping higher, no one is more explosive, MJ with the quickest first step so he’s blowing by everyone and he’s 6’6 and also has a documented 4.3 second 40 yard dash . That’s all on top of the shooting percentages and highest efficiency level ever, impeccable defender. So he’d get to the line even easier in this softer league that set up for more scoring by an average of 7 to ten more drips in the paint, still the best all around scorer too and remember you can touch him now and the best midrange game too and he dis ALL of this in the harder, rougher, more violent league and cooked everybody for a career average of 31 points per game and almost 38 points per game in the playoffs for his career, not season…..CAREER! Now put him in this league? Yeah average 50 a game EASY. That’s why you hear Magic, Shaq, KG, Pierce, Curry, Iverson, McGrady, Duncan, Payton, Durant, Barkley, Olajuwon, Malone, Hill, Allen, Ewing, and other players say the same thing and it’s also why they all laughed when ja morant said he would beat MJ. Nobody came close back then an nobody would today. The ONLY player in history that literally had no weakness in his game and the most skilled ever. When the most intelligent player is also most skilled player and is also the most efficient and the hardest worker and the most relentless and is the. Eat on BOTH sides of the ball, what can you do against that? MJ is the GOAT period.
He destroyed the league then, he would annihilate it today.
GOAT 🐐 and it's not even close
He played every game every season except when he got injured. He refused to sit out. He knew that night someone was in the stands that never got to see him live. And. He owed I to them to play. He was unstoppable.
That is one of the things about him I loved most; he played for the fans!!!
Mark Jackson said it best: "Michael Jordan would average whatever he wanted to average."
All done with hand checking and no defensive 3 seconds. Which makes it even more incredible.
People didn't stay in the lane for more the lane for more than 3 seconds because Jordan would have his nuts in your face in 2 seconds.
His game was the smoothest I swear. He was just fluid and coordinated like nobody I have ever seen so far and I'm 23...

I swear MJ Was playing like a NBA 2k my player
Im hip 😂😂
Hang time crazy that's why they call him air jordan 😂😂😅😅
He had unparalleled body control.
He would average over 50. In his era. Hand checking was allowed. Now. You can’t even sneeze on a player. I know it looks like he is toying with them. He is just that much better.

Yeah, Draymond at the 5, soft Era. MJ would destroy the Warriors by himself.
GOAT.
He'd probably average 50 a game now. He came from a tougher era in terms of defense, and had more finesse than any player today, including Lebron.
