Whether you are studying in high school, college, medical school, or working the 9-5, we all need the ability to sit down and know how to study with full concentration. As doctors, we don’t have a lot of time in our day, so learning how to study effectively and how to improve concentration on studies was a big factor in how we got to where we are today. In this video we will show you the best ways to focus on studies and even how to stay focused while studying. We also tried to add a little bit of fun to make this a sort of students motivational video. Anything that helps. Learn these simple tips to focus, and you can apply it to school, college, and your exams! Happy studying!
    🙏 Thanks for watching!

Even 2 hours of studying everyday is fine as long as you are 100% concentrated. If you neglect your studies and just pass time everyday then the amount of study time will increase depending on how many days are left for your exam

A quick summary for myself :-
There are 2 pillars of focus.
    1) Environment :
    - Remove yourself from distracting places
    - Remove distracting people.
    - Stay close to produvtive people
    -Remove distracting things.
    2) Plan :
    - Find out when you can study the best.
    -Use pomodoro technique.
    - Quickly jot down the thoughts that come to your mind while studying and think about them later.
-Reward yourself at the end of the day.
    -Study with correct methods.

@@surve2005 10 hours is practically the whole day. Not even though but that’s a day lay to waste. 6 hours is plenty. Maybe less like 2 hours. If I’d be in college, study that long, I would not get a lot of down time, spend time with people or work, and also going to a gym or sport. Combining a long lasting activity with the 10 hour studying is a long time of work, even with rest while work or gradual decline in productivity. There’s no need to study for even four hours straight all the time. It’s what works for you. The type of person can lose their life studying like a maniac for something you will eventually forget on a college exam. When studying straight with no breaks people neglect cared things like remembering to feed a pet.

What I do is I study and study untill I don't feel like it or when I feel like I have to force myself. However I will force myself to always study 3 min more than the week before. I started with only 30min a day now I'm at 1h and 30min and I have been focusing on only studying for the past 2 months my only GOAL through out those months was to study so have a single goal each month bassically

@@lively2242 it's been two months and I've learned some stuff idk if it will work for you but here are some tips if u can only do 1h
Let's assume you can only study for 1h a session
Then do one session in the morning and one session later on in the day that way you get 2 hours in one day
However it would be better if you could pump up the 1h to 2h that way you could study 4 hours everyday if you studied in 2hr chunks.
BUT REMEMBER TO NOT BURN YOURSELF OUT IF YOU DO YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SUSTAIN UR STUDY HABIT SO DON'T OVER DO IT JUST INCREASE YOUR TIME LITTLE BY LITTLE AND ONCE YOU FEEL LIKE IT'S TAKING A TOOL ON YOU GO BACK TO THE TIME THAT YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH AND STAY THERE AND THEN TRY INCREASE IF YOU CAN AGAIN. BUT DON'T GO CRAZY AND STUDY MORE THAN 8HR A DAY enjoy life as well you got lucky and still live so enjoy it
I've learned some more stuff but I don't want to overwhelm you more than I've already done one last tip I'll give is don't study only one thing everyday. Study many 2 or 3 subjects everyday and have 2 or 2 rest days but YOU CAN NOT skip two days in a row gl with this overwhelming information you've received

      @DrJonTam 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@KoiAcademy Yes, basically we have our "fast brain" (i.e. "limbic system", amygdala) which is the part that we use when we're in cruise control (i.e. picking up the phone next to you) and we have the "slow brain" (i.e. the brain that helps us remove these distractions). The key in both books is essentially to shape the environment with your slow logical brain to offer the most resistance to things you don't want (e.g. removing batteries from TV remote) and offering the least resistance to things you want to do (e.g. choosing a gym along the way to work so you'll see it daily and your gym bag is in your trunk instead of the one that's closer but out of the way). I found it better to just make it even more difficult and block it on my terminal or by logging into my router and blocking it. GUIs/Applications make things too easy for people. Making it harder for me to access sites or apps was the best decision I made. I would be too lazy to go and unblock it. Do alot more work, like 8 hours of staying in the library (Even if you dont do any work) then keep the habit for a month after that your body will get used to this difficult task, then you can reduce it significantly and get more effective hours like 4-6 hours. Breaks are necessary that goes without saying

another pointer for people is to make your notes interesting to look at. while you might think its a hassle and takes too much time, it does actually prompt you to look back at your notes. in fact, you dont even need to do anything extra... you might just take differently colored highlighters and go crazy.
even the practice of taking notes is great, as not only do you note it down in a more convenient place, writing it down ensures that the information is absorbed by your brain, and youre less likely to forget it.
    happy studying!!

    Resume:
Studying concentration is mostly based on:
    Environment:
    1. Remove yourself from distracting places. (Go to a library, coffee shop...)
    2. Remove distracting people.
    3. Surround yourself with productive people.
    4. Remove distracting things (Put your phone in a different room or use blocking app)
    5. Choose the right background music (avoid music with lyrics)
    Plan:
    1. Plan to study at the right time (take into account if you are a morning person or a night owl and also the time of your exams)
    2. Plan to study in blocks (if you can't focus, take a break and continue after 5 mins). You can use the Pomodoro technique
    3. Focus on one task at a time.
If you think of other tasks you need to do, just write them down and do them later.
    4. Plan to reward yourself for your work. (Food, Netflix, videogames etc.)
    5. Plan to study the right way - watch their video about the best scientifically proven study methods for more information.
    Good luck guys!!

I suggest being mindful of the things that will get you to your goal and grouping them together in levels of importance. In my case, programming. If I want to be a successful programmer, I should strive to see the value in, and get interested in, everything along the path. This will lend to a better understanding and execution of the craft. Every step should not be considered a bridge to the finish but, instead a foundation towards the completion of the goal; the goal being an accumulation of all things that lead to it.
I hope I articulated that well enough.

I used to study that long or even longer when I was I grade 9, but when I entered grade 10 it got less to 6 or something eventhough the work load increased. In grades 11 and 12 I studied for 2hrs since I finished most of my work in grade 10 and only had 2 classes in later years. In uni now (medicine), first year and I feel like I am not studying long enough but I can still understand and memorise what I am taking, and recall it when I want. I feel nervous that when we get our first test I wouldn't do that well bcuz I know people here who study for much longer hours.

    How to stay focused?
It depends from environment and plan.
First of all is remove distracting people, things. And choose right soundtrack. Fro example: binaural beats.
Second of all is about plan the reward. Study by blocks. It can be pomodoro. Work 25 min and rest 5 min. And one advise is competition with your yesterday you. Like Today I will be more productive than yesterday. Today I will be more focused than last study session.

    Before:
    - Studied in the living room or me and my sister's room, lots of distractions
    - Had a big mirror in front of my desk which made distracted my mind
    - Sister distracted me the most
    - My phone was always with me so that I could listen to music.
    Now
    - Will study in my own room (my family moved)
    - No mirrors in my room on purpose
    - I will shut my door and no one will distract me
    - Will keep my main phone away, in the living room.
    - Will get music on computer instead of phone
Environment is successfully being prepared for 2022...
