Hello Sir. Thank you for those amazing tips. I found those very helpful and I am going to try and incorporate that in my studying. I just have one question... where did you get your monitor from that supports mac? 🖥
Actually this happens when you cut your self from high dopamine activities due to this Brain tries to make things interesting to get dopamine out of it ,just embrace it is good
It do be like that. Then I'm criticising myself for overthinking things that won't even happen. Then I get demotivationed and stop studying for like 2 days and then the cycle repeats
Lol my mom doesn’t do that but you know what mentally hurts more? I’m gonna say something very honest. Before I got born the doctor said to my mom that I may be disabled and then I got born normally but after I became 15 me and my brother got in a argument and he called me a autistic. Still remember that day, I just felt a hole in my heart I can’t fill again
Can we Get 200 Subscribes With two videos ?? But are you cool w your brother now?? If I was then I would get over it cuz the fact of the matter is you aren’t, tbh you should be able to laugh at how ironic it is. Bless up
Can we Get 200 Subscribes With two videos ?? ... You’re not autistic. Even people who were born without any possibility of being disabled are called that as an insult. You will probably be called much worse later on lmao. Just learn to brush it off and say something back. People used to think that I was mentally disabled despite my good grades because I was weird, and I didn’t speak much. Even family. I just learned not to care too much. You should definitely be able to fill that hole in your heart lol. You’ll probably laugh back at it later. Also, you can’t really say what hurts worse for someone unless it’s physical pain or something.
As a student, I am expected to do a lot of hard work. However, there are times when I am not able to solve assignment questions, usually because of unclear concepts or time constraints. But as we all can agree, assignments affect our grades. Thankfully, I have Sarah helping me. She is a super-talented academic helper who never fails me. I simply email her my projects at sarahlordeme@gmail.com, and she takes care of the rest. My life is much better since I met her in that I can work and study without much stress.

How to enter into flow: 1. Clarity of goal - Set specific micro and macro-level goals 2. Challenge - Set tasks and goals to be challenging enough to stay engaged 3. Distraction is the enemy of flow - Keep distractions far away from you, social distance from your phone 4. It takes time - Flow is not easy to get into. Slowly and consistently build yourself into the state of flow, like riding a bike.
There is a point which I've found VERY helpful that he did not mention: start with a simple task and your flow will gain momentum easily, otherwise your brain will find a way to convince you not to get started. I'm a programmer and I say to myself "I will just find a variable and give it a better name than the one it has" or something like that, then one modification leads to another and a few hours later, I've added another feature to my software. This is probably one of the most honest “how to get motivated” video, one thing that’s different with the other ones is that there is no ad at the end of the video 😁👍🏻, keep this up!
To sum up 1. Clarity of goal: a clear goal on the bigger level and on the smaller level (micro and macro). Your goals, what are you striving for? for example aiming for a specific grade for an exam - your motivation 2. Challenge: The goal and the challenge has to be a bit challenging. When the challenge is hard enough for the skills the person possesses you'll see an increase in your skills and you will be getting closer to your goal. This will also keep you motivated to continue and do more 3. Distraction is the enemy of flow: It is very important to stay away from ur phone as this eliminates the flow you enter - ie ur concentration 4. It takes time: inducing flow isn't easy and can't be done quickly. You have to build up and slowly enter that stage. The more consistent you are the easier it will be. The same can be seen, when trying to achieve a goal, when it comes to physical activities. Your muscles has to warm up and then you'll be rolling
Hey!! Check @ama21ng_ on instagram! It is a community of highschool n college students sharing EVERYTHING from career advice, college admission advice to music n netflix recommendations!!!!
1. Clarity of goal (you need to know what you want out of a session) 2. Challenging (there is a relationship between challenge and goal; if there is too much or too little of a challenge, you cannot meet your goals through skills) 3. Distraction is the enemy of flow (just do not get distracted! Keep your phone away from you) 4. it takes time (on a personal note, I have been trying this while learning my first year of college remotely. This is a big one) Thank you for these invaluable tips
as a Neuropsychologist, I can attest to these techniques. The brain is a machine that needs to be continually trained until training becomes second nature. This is an insightful video!
Patricia Jumbo 4 years BS Hons Psychology Degree, 1 year MSc Cognitive Neuroscience and Clinical Psychology coupled with over 450 hours of psych ward hours. I started out as an Assistant Psychologist and then specialised in Neuropsychology.
i found your video in 2020 when i had to go back to school after covid, and it was so hard figuring out how to study but your video helped me, my grades improved drastically thanks to you. I come back every now and then when i'm trying to do a new challenging task in my life. Thank you
Summary of the video: 1. Clarity of goal (short term and long term) 2. Challenge (find something challenging enough) 3. Distraction is the enemy of flow (social distancing from your phone) 4. It takes time
I use a 10h „Study with me“ video (the one from Kharma Medic) and stick to its structure. While studying I then listen to „concentration“ music (basically, really slow and unmelodic background music). It helped me to study for 8h a day. Something I never thought I would be able to do.
Can we at least appreciate the great tips and explanation? This guy's voice was very smooth and calm and explained so well you seriously deserve more subs
I procrastinate, and then hate myself. Then I comfort myself that tomorrow no procrastination. Then tomorrow comes and I procrastinate again, and then I hate myself again. And then I promise myself that I will study more tomorrow. And this goes on and on. Why am I like this? 😢😢😢 Edit: Thank u guys for commenting and trying to help me. I really appreciate it. 🤗🤗 Edit 2: wow! Guys I really appreciate all of you here. You are so awesome that you try to help me. Thanks again.
This is why I dont like the 25mins pomodoro technique. My flow lasts much longer than 25 minutes and entering the flow is much harder than staying in the flow.
I actually do a 30 mins pomodoro, which I study the one subject in the 30 mins, and in the 10 mins break I also study but in lighter way such as memorizing terms and such, I find myself stay engaged with my study even for hours!
yes!!! i mean, i study but through surface learning. i regretted not putting genuine effort on learning throughout my high school years. now that i'm an incoming freshman in college, i had to discover what works for me and build habits. it would probably be a lot easier if i practiced earlier :
Mat Quebral I just graduated from university yesterday and I can’t begin to describe the regret I have for not studying properly. I don’t have bad grades, but I was close to a distinction, and all my friends got a high distinction. Knowing that you’re capable of so much more but not reaching that level really takes a mental toll, so heed my warning, you’ll care a lot more about how much effort you put in in the long run. Heed my warning, it sucks being in this position.
My biggest tip : go to the "study with me" side of TH-cam. They set a timer for you , nice lofi music (there are alot without music) . They do pomedoro or animedoro (watching anime during the breaks) These helped me so much I started studying from 1 hiur a day to 10 hours a day with much more ease. Its like you have someone there with you staying at those late hours. Goodluck everyone , you can do it ❤
Whether or not they are necessary, research papers can be depressing. Before I found Sarah, I was ready to quit school because of too much research paper homework and other assignments. Sarah is my academic helper who takes care of all my homework, and I tell you what? She is a genius. I can’t remember the last time I was worried about grades or deadlines. (Email: sarahlordeme@gmail.com).
I AM VERY GUILTY OF THIS It takes a lot of willpower but try putting the video on the whole screen and keep your finger away from the keyboard/mouse/screen
I appreciate the entire video, especially the cycling analogy. It makes perfect sense. I've had a problem concentrating and staying focused lately and it couldn't be at a worse time. Am taking a different career trajectory and damn, this studying is proving challenging at my age. I'll implement the FLOW strategy and see how it goes🤞🙏. Thanks Ali.
You make it sound like someone (probably parents) forced you to choose medicine.. Either way, just do remember that death doesn't come with a warning. It can come 40 years from now or it could come within the next 4 hours.
State of flow.. I've been there, It feels great. Times fly by as if it doesn't exist. But, unfortunately for me it only happens on things that I love a lot. I like solving problems, any kind. Say Rubik's cube and different shapes and forms of that. I just couldn't sleep without finding the answer. Days I was researching on ancient scripts, time didn't exist, one minute I look at the watch and boom 3 hours past. This state of flow everyone show feel. it feels like, living.
Highest respect for anyone studying for exams during Ramadan! And I'm not even Muslim. I believe your studying efforts were blessed during this holy period. Well done.
Four tips to induce flow 05:06 Clarity of goal 06:54 Challenge yourself 08:38 Distraction is the enemy of flow (get rid of it) 09:36 It takes time (be patient) Stay safe and happy!
no this is a psychology term called projection. you were already unmotivated however rather than taking the blame for yourself you “project” that blame onto your dad for making your studying feel forced thus making you feel unmotivated. Fact of the matter is you were unmotivated yourself just looking for an excuse to place the blame on
@@Br6y9n There's also a term in psychology called the attribution error where people disproportionately place more focus on behaviorism at the expense of other alternative factors outside of one's behavior. The reinforcement techniques utilized are proportional to the reaction of the situation, in other words, one is just as responsible for constructing the situation as much as the one who reacts to it. Working with someone's learning is more important then demanding because even if you do follow through with demands, you're not doing it for intrinsic motivation but rather extrinsic ones. How is it projection when the person stated that he or she found themselves to be intrinsically motivated to begin until the command was given? Just because you are demotivated after a command was given ,doesn't imply that you were initially unmotivated to do it and that's not at all projection but rather social anxiety.
Honestly I study a lot myself although i am not in college or high school yet. Me being the oldest i needed to be the "golden child" to lead my siblings to do the same which is so dumb. I would be told to go study and i just hated being told it over again and again. My grades were just average and a bit on the low side. However due to an incident that happened to my dad was all of a sudden left alone with my grades since things were hectic. Oddly enough without people telling me what to do i slowly started to study as i found that i wanted to help my family. My passion toward wanting to get into a large or prestigious college and have a good education made me like studying and now my grades have never been higher and i am even taking high school math in 8th grade. I am now hoping to go into computer engineering or aerospace engineering since i have an interest with these type of things. Sometimes its best to leave people alone and take a step back.
Many colleges bombard students with multiple homework projects with tight deadlines, probably not caring how they’ll complete them. Unfortunately, these assignments have a bearing on our grades, so we’re expected to give our best and finish them before the due date. In my case, I have a job and kids to take care of. Fortunately, a friend hooked me up with an assignment helper. Her name is Sarah and her email is sarahlordeme@gmail.com. She handles all my assignments and I tell you, she’s brilliant. My grades have been excellent
I've been in that state and I miss it. I was in med school too. Checking my phone while studying? Hell I didn't even check the time! I thought checking the time would either relax me- "oh it's still early in the day, I still have time." or stress me out. Social media didn't exist for me when I had exams. I would only eat chocolate and drink coffe all day because I thought food would break my concentration. It isn't a healthy lifestyle. I became so socially awkward that I lost friends and potential relationships but man, I didn't even care because I felt like I had a purpose in life. Like nothing else in the world mattered. And the feeling when I passed the exam after putting my soul into it was literally the best feeling in the world. It was a high you can't even get from drugs or sex. Nowadays I've become addicted to my phone and I'm always too tired from work to read anything and I want to spend the free time I get with my family and friends so I can't get to a state of flow anymore. But to all the students having a hard time studying- trust me, you're gonna miss it one day and you won't have the time or the energy to commit to it like you do now. Submerge yourself into it while you can, and experience the feeling when you give it your all and get what you deserve at the end of it. You'll miss that feeling when it's all over.
U sound like an older version of me😂💔. The chocolate n coffee part really got me. A week before an exam, I used to eat coffee n bread three times a day from a bag I’d put beside my desk just so that the only reason I’d get up in the day was to pee. I’d end up going to the hospital almost always after but damn, seeing those grades were worth it. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone coz it’s been hell trying to create a normal social life even two years later. ...But it’s nice knowing I’m not the only crazy person in the world🙂🤝
I sometimes write comments. I hardly ever subscribe. I never put likes or dislikes. Today I made all 3 on this video and I'm going to watch a lot of your videos cause I'm almost a uni student and your info is so helpful that I can't even describe you. Thanks a lot for your work! You're fantastic
I accidentally entered this state two days ago, I finished so much work, and my average went from a 78% to a 90% for chemistry. I also stopped enjoying playing games.
dee narcisse thanks for trying to help but idk, i think it may be something with my attention. Sometimes no matter if it is a really simple task it takes me a lot to get concentrated in that. I also think that it could be possible that my brain finds a relation between sadness and university, so it tries to stay away from that, but i ain’t no psychologist. Nevermind, what you said it’s true! Sorry for the way i express in english it’s not my native language.
Alex Gonzalez i also feel they just force me to absorb information and at the end of the day i feel i hasn’t really learned something, just memorized it.
This is the first time I've honestly seen another person with the same name as me and the goal (to get in med school although it looks like he achieved that already). Inshallah good things come your way fellow Anas.
If your interested I recently made an amazing motivational music that will help you study more effectively and I would be very grateful for your support 🧡💚💙❤💖
Actually, the same thing happened to me a week ago. I started studying 10-12 hours a day because my A level exams are approaching and accidentally found this video. Yes, I am still studying 10 hours a day and I have noticed every pattern in my own life and can relate that this actually works. I am enjoying the process so much that now I just want to maintain this streak even after exams (at work and building my blog)! Thanks for the insight!
I study for 8 hours, feel mentally exhausted... i lose focus after 5 hours of studying (with breaks), then i do my homework for 2 hours (it's usually one essay or two short homeworks)... I have only big RESPECT for you! And thank you for the video! It will definitely help me a lot!

2. Challenge: The goal and the challenge has to be a bit challenging. When the challenge is hard enough for the skills the person possesses you'll see an increase in your skills and you will be getting closer to your goal. This will also keep you motivated to continue and do more
3. Distraction is the enemy of flow: It is very important to stay away from ur phone as this eliminates the flow you enter - ie ur concentration
4. It takes time: inducing flow isn't easy and can't be done quickly. You have to build up and slowly enter that stage. The more consistent you are the easier it will be. The same can be seen, when trying to achieve a goal, when it comes to physical activities. Your muscles has to warm up and then you'll be rolling
your'e a lifesaver thx :)

1. Clarity of goal (you need to know what you want out of a session)
2. Challenging (there is a relationship between challenge and goal; if there is too much or too little of a challenge, you cannot meet your goals through skills)
3. Distraction is the enemy of flow (just do not get distracted! Keep your phone away from you)
4. it takes time (on a personal note, I have been trying this while learning my first year of college remotely. This is a big one)

I use a 10h „Study with me“ video (the one from Kharma Medic) and stick to its structure. While studying I then listen to „concentration“ music (basically, really slow and unmelodic background music). It helped me to study for 8h a day. Something I never thought I would be able to do.

True!
You can make it longer if you like
@@bratzlover501 Yes thats what I do, 50min work, 10 min break

Am I the only person who feels like they have never really studied
yes!!! i mean, i study but through surface learning. i regretted not putting genuine effort on learning throughout my high school years. now that i'm an incoming freshman in college, i had to discover what works for me and build habits. it would probably be a lot easier if i practiced earlier :
No you’re not buddy
Mat Quebral I just graduated from university yesterday and I can’t begin to describe the regret I have for not studying properly. I don’t have bad grades, but I was close to a distinction, and all my friends got a high distinction. Knowing that you’re capable of so much more but not reaching that level really takes a mental toll, so heed my warning, you’ll care a lot more about how much effort you put in in the long run. Heed my warning, it sucks being in this position.

I personally find myself motivated when I study but it’s only until my dad tells me to study when I definitely feel forced and no longer motivated.
same parents dont realise this but it demotivates me so mutch when my parents tell me "you need to study now"
no this is a psychology term called projection. you were already unmotivated however rather than taking the blame for yourself you “project” that blame onto your dad for making your studying feel forced thus making you feel unmotivated.
Just because you are demotivated after a command was given ,doesn't imply that you were initially unmotivated to do it and that's not at all projection but rather social anxiety.
yeah I don't know why I just hate being ordered around. Like if they told me to do some refreshing, I studied more instead.

Procrastination - Instant Gratification at expense of Long term Goal.
You'll miss that feeling when it's all over.
thank you man i realy appreciate your sharing and i like it and found it interesting how you said that well miss it
