I like the format of this channel. I don't know why, but so many people are completely not aware of how useful practicing debate is. Most people who are passionate ( in the best case) or fanatic ( in the worst) will end up fighting and hating everyone who thinks differently than them. When reality is so simple, you can totally have different opinions, and have totally normal and healthy interaction with people with other views. Thank you for this great idea 😎😍👌

First of all, you can't just delete an environment that's been here for thousands of years. Second of all, if you delete science, the way we look at science could pretty much change. The formula for gravity could change if you delete science for instance. Who says math will be the same? The meaning is the same, the characters won't be. Same for religion - God is the same but the books will be different.

Being religious is important to my opinion.
Religion is the only thing that makes we human apart from animal.if you have no borders, no conditions in your life from childhood you’ll never ever be well disciplined, well mannered and a good individual in your society.
The main things our religion promotes us is to be humble, kind, respectful and spread kindness among humanity, help someone in need.
For many reasons 99.99% being religious is good except that 00.01% I hope you got it.
And there are some main point’s to consider,
      • The bad behaviors of religious people/leader/monk may ruin the religion or society.
•The culture is culture it’s not a religion most people don’t understand the difference between these two.
(In Sri Lanka there is 4 main religions but the culture is different from east to west)
I’m proudly a Muslim the religion protected me from bad behaviors, addiction and being rude.

Hi! As someone who is not strongly religious, I wanna give my views on this debate. I attempt to be as non-biased as possible.
First, it was really frustrating that Eisa was not replying to any of Alyne's statements. If Alyne would say something about religion having very violent things eg 14:29 "Women are the helpmates to husbands", then Eisa talks about religion developing over time, which is not answering Alyne's point. So the debate felt really confusing because it was just a lot of points thrown everywhere and not being linked.
Second, kudos to Alyne for actually taking in Eisa's statements eg 13:01 When Eisa talked about SK being a less religious country having high suicide rates, Alyne answered that less religious islands also have low suicide rates. So her statements are a follow up to Eisa's statements and thus easier to understand.
So in summary both Eisa and Alyne had very good knowledge, but Alyne was better at debating back and proving her point than Eisa. I hope that Eisa can try to answer to the opponent's statements in the next debate, and to Alyne, keep it up!

    • @danial4752
      @danial4752 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

To add on about the skill of answering to the opponent's statements which was strong in Alyne but less strong in Eisa, here is an example to help.
Note that this is an example I made up, and is not representative of actual statistics.
Imagine 2 people debating, Person A and person B.
They are debating on whether Mcdonalds food should be banned because of its unhealthiness.
Person A is on team "dont abolish Mcdonalds"
Person B is on team "abolish Mcdonalds"
If B says "Mcdonalds is very unhealthy because it contains lots of saturated fat and calories",
a BAD response from A would be "But there are Mcdonalds salads which are low in fat and calories so you have to look at the bigger picture, not all Mcd food in unhealtjy"
A GOOD response from A would be "But fat and calories will not have effect of somebodys health if they have a healthy lifestyle. Eg if they exercise daily, they will burn many calories. Thus mcd having high calories wont be an issue"
Hope this helps Eisa or Alyne or anyone that sees this!

    • @danial4752
      @danial4752 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Oh and adding on to the Mcdonalds example:
You may ask why is the first response of A bad but 2nd response of A good?
Look at B's context. B is talking about Mcd food in general being unhealthy.
So A's 1st response (salad) is only proving that some foods arent unhealthy. So shouldnt the foods that are unhealthy (eg fries) be abolished? A did not address that.
Meanwhile A's 2nd response (healthy lifestyle) is on behalf of ALL mcd foods, eg no matter what unhealthy Mcd food you eat, if you exercise a lot, your health is not affected, thus mcd need not be abolished
      Hope this helps :)

You missed out alyne making arguments based on a lack of understanding and research of islam script. She cited surah Tawbah verse 5 which says to kill the polytheists yet completely took it out of context. Anybody who actually reads the text knows it is in the context of war and self defense. The next verse literally annihilates her futile attempt at demonising islam. The next verse states 'And if anyone from the polytheists asks for your protection ˹O Prophet˺, grant it to them so they may hear the Word of Allah, then escort them to a place of safety, for they are a people who have no knowledge.'

It doesn't mean u stop allowing ur brain to understand the theory of multiplication n the rules behind it. just Bcoz u dont like 2×2 is 4 n its tough this way u end up being dumb n won't become successful in life.
to live here n life after death there is certain rules, definlity people misuse those rules but don't close ur brain to learn understand.

What I love from the concept of religion (POV : Islam) is how it balances people.
We always can read the Quran with 2 perspective, and that's beautiful.
    Example :
    - when it comes to the poor, it Commands them to not asking people for money, being grateful and keep "Tawakkal". It keeps your self-regard though ur poor.
    - when it comes to the rich, it asks them to give their money, being generous and don't afraid of losing money. It teaches them to not anxious with the money, etc.

      @chadultrapromax1735 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@zwilder1 still education has a potential to improve and develop way better than religion. Right now if anything is hindering modern society it has to be religion. Wars are fought over it. Radical killings are done in name of it. To have actual progress we need to stop preserving it and actually take a massive leap forward. One must learn from history and should not literally adopt it.
Religious people often argue how they are scientifically correct which they aren't but religion was not a scientific issue it has always been a political issue. The reason it is carried from centuries is because of fear itself. The fear of the afterlife, heaven and hell which nobody has ever seen in existence. With each generation religion is losing its strong hold and hence we are getting better as a society due to exposure to education.

  • @vasvijain
    @vasvijain 2 ปีที่แล้ว +25

I would to add to Eisa's statements:
On one hand he said atrocities are done by the 'person itself' and religion always is not involved in genocides. He also mentioned how suicide rates are high in south korea because 'its non religious'.
I see that as a contradiction of his own point that the fault lies with 'the person itself' and high suicide rates mostly has nothing to do with religion. Scandinavia too is non religious, no where in the top most suicidal countries.
Also, he said that people who are grateful to something are kind of a 'religion itself' which is true in its sense. My point would have been that yes, thats the point. We do not need everyone following the same rules. We need everyone to have their own religion.
As for the community part, it is true that religion helps to form groups. But Alyne's point is very valid here that if religions are so loving of everyone, even the people of other religions and non religious people, Alyne shouldn't have been excluded from her community. True that the topic they used to talk about would not be the same, but they could have kept in touch with her even if she found a different faith.
As for when Eisa said religion evolves with people, well I do not think anyone would have the balls to alter the verses Alyne mentioned and correct their holy texts to keep up with evolving times. Yeah, you can say that people no longer follow it, but that doesnt mean that it is not a part of the text (till it is removed) and some people can be misguided to hate others based on those verses and texts, by reading it on their own, or by 'taking it out of context' as most people say to defend such verses. Well, yes everyone has their own way of interpretation, as it is their right, but can we atleast put some footnotes in such misleading verses saying 'please dont take it as face value, rest how you want to interpret is your choice.'
Also, mind you religion was always started by one person only, which proves my point that everyone should have their own religion. Those who liked the person's way of life applied it onto their own which is very much fine, but you can't say that if someone does not apply anyone else's way of life and beliefs, they should follow it anyway. Yes, they should respect your beliefs, but please so respect ours too. We do not need an already written set of rules to live our lives with morality. We can figure out our own morality.
Now do not say your morality is wrong, because in the modern day world, most of the things labelled 'crime' im religions are already punishable by law, and that is the morality we need all need to follow, in addition to our own set of morals.
I think religion should become more like laws, getting amended time to time (only the questionable verses). I am sure if that happens, everyone is going to be religious one day. Atleast I would be, gladly. 😀

All Abrahamic religions had make prophets and that’s understandable because they came to patriarchal societies but even with the final revelation of Islam, the message was clear on equality between men and women but societies were always way too far from accomplishing that. Muslim countries will always be leagues below the rest of the world as long as they don’t realize that religion was made to be appreciated and not followed blindly like a cult. for me i think religion is necessary for when you are lost, there are many life compasses that can guide a person, the destination depends on the compass but the journey depends on the person. And many people like to believe in simple things like supernatural beings whose powers and existence can't be proven but is still believed to be there, so in short, yes religion is necessary

    "Is religion necessary?"
Isn't this question incomplete or illogical? Like what does "necessity of religion" mean? I mean it creates lot more questions, like:
    1. the existence of God
    2. Which God
    ...
This is a debate, and in debate, one needs to go deep and deeper into the historical incidence, religious texts and logic etc....
    But now comes the question:
    "which religious text?"
    "what logic?"
"Incidence from what point of view?"
    ...
Because all religions aren't the same and so does being religious!
And if it is not the same, then how can you debate over one word-religious? It does have one meaning written down in the Dictionary but not in practice!
I think, Nas, you should continue this debate and reach an end. It is incomplete.

Before watching this video, I'll say something that probably wasn't said.
Religion doesn't exist because humans needed something to add meaning to their lives, religion exists because there is a divine master over everything and all of the religions of the world act in some way to facilitate each individual having a relationship with it. They are also a means to preserve order and goodness in the world.
If you're not religious but still a good person, you're not in my way and I've got no bones with you. Even under my religious beliefs about hell, I don't know if an atheist is qualified to go to hell because you must first believe in a God to reject it. How can you be punished for ignorance? The possibility of Hell notwithstanding (I'm not God, it's not my choice) the worst punishment of an atheist is that they don't get to see the greatest treasure. Beyond that, if you're not causing a problem there is no reason for me to try and change you if you're happy where you are.
The price of faith is the propensity to experience delusions, the reward of faith is the ultimate truth.

Religions are proven to be ancient brainwashing tools used by past leaders to provide them influence and power over its population. “If you don’t do this in a certain way you will go to hell”, “If you don’t this do this in a certain way it’s a sin and god will find you punishment”. “If you do this in a certain way god will reward you”, “If you do this in a certain way god will save you”. its an almost perfect scheme. I know that the grand majority of religious people will chose to ignore and not take this statement to heart as it takes a ridiculous amount of mental strength, suffering and determination to undo brainwashing. Most individuals as an innate defense mechanism will never allow themselves to be subjugated to such process they will chose to ignore it like a kid would ignore a warning from their teacher. Because the truth of human kind is that as long as they feel happy and safe they will most of the time chose to ignore the truth. And thats why usually the ignorants are also the happiest but bottom line you are still living under a lie. But then you also understand why modern nations such as western countries, China, Russia and Japan and every country and society that doesn’t have its political and educational system attached to a fictional old minded brainwashing scheme of centuries ago is so much more developed than countries whose education and politics is bound to religion such as Muslim countries…Modern societies of today is about innovation of ideas the other such as in the middle east it’s about preservation of ancient ideas. Muslim countries will always be far below the rest of the world in science and societal development as long as they don’t realize that religion was made to be appreciated and not followed blindly like a cult. How do you expect people to know what good and bad is based on their mind? There should be a users mannual, something to show us how to live life according to the moral proncips.

@mo_N15 No, the first real university was the university of Bologna in Italy in 1088, well it didn't really become an university until 1190 truth be told. An Islamic school is a university in the same way that a catholic or an orthodox school is an actual education facility. No, those are indoctrination centers whose purpose is to create more religious zealots. The Al Quaraouiyine only did not become a proper university until 1965.

Ok so lisa actually gave a point telling that she sees religion as a vanilla cake with a cockroach in and said that henceforth she won't eat it. My cross logic is this it actually depends upon how hungry you are and how many more options you have to eat that would decide whether you wish to eat the cake or not. Also religion does not mean full positivity you need to find a different way to keep yourself positive if religion does not work for you, or just imagine that people are not only religious they convert between religions. It actually depends upon the version of quoran or bible you read that actually shapes the final believe.

    • @mohamudahmed6554
      @mohamudahmed6554 2 ปีที่แล้ว

First of all, that Vanilla analogy is this:
She could have simply stated i see good, but underneath it there is so much bad, its not worth it. This is what her analogy means. Beautiful from the outside, disgusting from the inside.
Secondly, there are no different versions of the Quran.
Even The different bibles belong to a specific sect. So how someones belief comes to be is not that simple.

@@UnlimitlesslyFunnyDude We know that man is a social animal. Every man depends upon millions of people for his life and its necessities. Also we know that every society needs some laws to prevent injustice and preserve the rights of every member of the society. But who is the right authority to make the Law? One man (be he a monarch or a dictator)? No! Because he, instinctively, will look, first of all, after his own interest. A group of people (be it an aristocracy or democracy)? No! Because every one of them is capable of wrong judgment; and a lot of wrong decisions do not add up to a right decision.

Literally every time alyne would make a fair point, he would either 1) completely dodge it like they’re his taxes or 2) straw man it. For instance, he straw manned the part where he was like “oh so you’re saying it IS necessary for society?” When she was not saying that at all. Then she proved him wrong and he changed his argument to say that religion was necessary to find the tools like meditation. Both sides did a lot of dodging, but overall I feel like the guy on the left had little to no argument.

It doesn’t matter you believe or not.
But it guides you to the right path.
It gives you spiritual satisfaction( I am the proof) It doesn’t matter you are successful or not but It gives you moral ethics and makes you calm.
It teaches you how to deal with people, it teaches you how to run the world.
It teaches you how to react on angry moment.
It teaches you how to communicate.
    It teaches you be helpful.
It teaches you to be a knowledge seeker.
It teaches you not to be selfish.
It gives you certain law that you have to follow to be religious and many many many more.
If you are not religious that prove it how this world created? You'll say through big bang but how the explosion of big bang happend?
It is Allah who created this.
You'll say who created Allah. It is invalid question bcoz if Allah created by someone then how Allah is the creater?
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “He is Allah-One ˹and Indivisible˺Allah-the Sustainer ˹needed by all˺.He has never had offspring, nor was He born And there is none comparable to Him.”1
It is your short of knowledge that you think the buildings can not be created without something but the universe is created by nothing.
    Research first.
[If someone believe in a religion that doesn’t mean that he/she is religious. Religious are those who follow the rules and regulations of Religion.]
And at last your favourite question that why in religion women should be in house? Answer is women role is to build and teach children (build their attitude, morality through religion)
If you say that men and women are equal then come me and you have a fight then see who wins. (I don't workout)
    Equality is a scam.
