I love all your work Luke, I found your channel a couple of years ago and have seen hundreds of your videos. All are great quality and entertainment. I have some old stuff I never will use again. I read your list of machines that you own and remember not seeing it. It's a Coleco Vision with about 7 games and two controllers and adapters. It's not the shiniest of things but I'd be more than happy to send it to you for all the wonderful videos of guidance and entertainment you've provided for me
The manual says that 26 is select up and d is select down. I usually connect one pin to either 26 OR d and the other one to gnd. Also, as mentioned, a switch would be more convenient than quick connects. You could also take audio gnd (or minus. Whatever you want to call it.) right off the power supply. Often a good solution, if you have problems with picture quality.
awesome video man, when i work on my neo geo mvs arcade en regular jamma arcade I always watch your vids to solve problems! your awesome! my nr 1 arcade source! keep it up :)
Oh man! Thank you! i was just about to wire up my project cab for the first time, thought id sit down for 10 mins just to check the pc and found this! Weird! Thanks youve saved me loads of stress!
Great video as usual. I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it before but it would be great if you could do some videos with recommendations on how to acquire some basic skills in electronics. I really want to start getting into it but I have no idea where to start. People like you, Doujin Dance, and the folks that make reproduction carts are my heros but I don't even know how to solder. I guess soldering would be a good place start... Keep up the good work!
Love every video you post man! Still need to go back and finish the Rob videos you did!!! That was some funny stuff!!! Any chance of a new Rob video???
Luke on the setup of the neo geo board (at least on mine wich is a 4 slot) you can configure the board to let you switch between the games without inserting a credit :p mine is working this way atm.
This is helpful to know! Luke, I have a 2 slot MVS that looks a lot like yours with the short orange feet. Do you have any recommendation on how to store the system? I don't like the idea of it just being a bare motherboard with a giant heatsink/shield. How do you store yours?
Cool video, just wondering why not solder an extra wire on the negative point. Then use a non momentary single pole double throw switch soldered into the harness to change between jamma and mvs ? Instead of quick connects etc..
Hi! I have the mv-1b board which i just got, I plugged in my regular jamma connector in my Svc chaos arcade and all i get is a no signal on my monitor, I get sound and I can hear the games running but no image other than the No Signal message. Any advice? Im really new at this and looking for some help. Thanks in advance
Is this also for one slot board (1fzs)? When i hook this board to common jamma cabinet my sound is very loud even with the pot at slowest...can you please help me if you know something? Thanks for your time anyway.
Hi Luke I recently bought a 1 slot mvs board and have a few issues with audio Firstly,on my jamma harness,I only had 1 of the 1st 4 pins grounded by default,I was getting a black screen only,I bridged all 4 pins and now get display. Audio .. I am getting what seems to be mono audio,at the neo jingle,it's only playing half of the notes but also,I am getting noise, the noise comes and goes, sounds like wind and rain I noticed you have a multi slot mvs board,is your modification required for a 1 slot board ? Do you have any idea if your mod will give me the full sound and get rid of the noise Finally .. what I think you are saying is that in a jamma L-10 is where audio +/- are .. and that the - Minus .. is aiming to a test switch when mvs is inserted ? And this causes the audio issue ? And to fix this,we remove the L/10 -minus or ground wire and move that to the end of the edge connector with another ground wire ? So the speaker is still getting ground but the test switch isn't hitting ground ... is this correct ? Many many thanks
Hello! I am trying to convert my NG MVS MV-1C to a console size and I have almost all set up but I still have doubts about the stereo mod... I check on the tutorial on Jamma nation but I am confuse how and where to exactly plug the wires (positive, ground, etc) could you please explain me or show me how to do it? Right now I get the sound in mono as it is in this model. Thank you!
i got some questions i got a tpn phnix arcade stand up i ordered a neogeo mvs 4 slot i was wondering is the pin out the same i just need to swap out the pin for the sound like u show in ur video i got a service booklet to with the pin outs and all the diagrams was wondering if u got one for the neo geo mvs
So I have a quick question for ya and I am hoping you can help. I have a cabinet at home that uses a lcd screen and it runs my Capcom jamma X-men VS Street fighter just fine but it wont give me the video on my MVS 1 slot motherboard. I have tried other MVS boards and get the same problem. I was curious if any of the converters would help fix this. like the NeoGeo MVS to JAMMA Inline Adapter or CGA/EGA/YUV to VGA Arcade HD-Converter PCB (GBS-8220). I am just super lost on this and could really use some help.
I've never encounter any trouble with MVS and JAMMA connectors, it's 100% compatible ! i've tested with may arcade cabinet, MV1A, MV1B, MV1C, MV1FZ and even 4 slots... no issues So the purpose of this video is to retablish the standart pins to be compatible with a JAMMA connector ?
Hello there, great video and very understandable. I have a jamma cabinet and a NEO-MVH MV1FZS MVS motherboard, can i connect it without any changes? Will the sound play normal? Thank you for any help!!
Gran video amigo me sirvio no habia un video como conectar el audio de mi placa doble slot, y asi mismp me fallaba el auidio.. si fuera en español.. el video ..
What makes this different from a 1 slot? I got one of those on the way. I want to make a multisystem cabinet where I could just use a single harness and swap them between systems.
I don't believe pinouts are different between numbered slot boards.. I think the 2-4-6 slot in the intro was towards the game swap button. I have a one slot on the way as well.... Good luck.
First, how did you get so smart? I have a double dragon jamma(someone told me that) I want to put a 161-1 neo geo in there. what would i need to do that? Thanks
Awesome information Luke. Another idea is to toss on a little inline SPDT switch on that wire and then run lines to the 2 pins on the jamma connector. Now you solder them all and at the flick of a switch, change from NEO to JAMMA. Thegreenmonkeyking
Great video I wanted to go from a neogeo mvs to a jamma could you send me a message with some instructions on what wires to switch I have a 4 slot neogeo thanks
You are a JAMMA beast! I'm always impressed at how much stuff you know about these things! Keep it up!

So wait.. where do I hook the speaker wires to? You put the negative pin on ground but when you turned it back on, there was some missing audio.

So with a neo geo mvs 1 slot harness I can't hook up tekken 2?
How do you switch games in a multiple slot board?
Great stuff, I love these fixing videos :o)
First, how did you get so smart? I have a double dragon jamma(someone told me that) I want to put a 161-1 neo geo in there. what would i need to do that? Thanks
Am i allowed to send you something form UK Luke :)?
I want to go out to the list of games I miss that coneccioinayudame please osea button to back to the list of games
Awesome information Luke. Another idea is to toss on a little inline SPDT switch on that wire and then run lines to the 2 pins on the jamma connector.
Now you solder them all and at the flick of a switch, change from NEO to JAMMA.

Thanks Luke and got to love magician lord!!!
Or you can have two jamma harness, one for MVS board and one for jamma board.
Great video I wanted to go from a neogeo mvs to a jamma could you send me a message with some instructions on what wires to switch I have a 4 slot neogeo thanks
That's pretty interesting
I need the other way around.
Dude, M and 11 were actually L and 10. I was trying to ground M which was Test in the MVS. 😩
+KingJavo True. I did not get this mod working grounding M but after looking at the MVS pinout I grounded L and it worked just fine.
well i guess it´s all about the right pinouts =D
thanks :)
holy fuq, u scared me with your intro.
