I've never been a fan of loafers (to put it mildly), until about 5 years ago, when I purchased two pairs of Ralph Lauren loafers (penny loafers outside & and slipper loafers inside).
And they're among my absolute favourite shoes since. 😎👍
Very easy and comfortably to wear, while still stylish.
Of course combined with a more slimmer type of jeans/ trousers.

I think with baggy jeans it can be done, I’m a size 32w and I’ve been obsessing over my 42w Levi’s and my black penny loafers, and can I just say I LOVE how they rest on the loafers and they just look amazing. it just depends on the pant itself because of the length but just get the right ones and it can be done.

No - loafers are *not* "technically dress shoes" - they are absolutely (and technically) casual shoes.

    • @raulgonzalezasfura2211

      So..
You can (and must) wear them with casuals? T shirts, Polos, chinos at most? Maybe more dressy shorts?
They are not dressy enough to be used with kakhi pants, or dress trousers even suits.

Antonio has made multiple videos (including in the last week) about buying clothes without spending a lot of money. Buy fewer items. Buy only what you need. Buy versatile items in neutral colors. Buy from thrift stores, particularly ones in wealthier neighborhoods … because they often have high-quality items that have been barely worn.
*Guideline that applies to blue collar (and everyone else):*
Nail the fit, even if that involves making the adjustments yourself or taking it to the tailor. (This is one reason that you want fewer items. It's less time sewing, or less money at the tailor.) Even work uniforms can be adjusted or tailored.
      *Opinions specific to blue collar:*
For your work clothes, *function* is the most important thing. If you need protective gear, that's what you wear. If you need clothes that keep you warm, keep you cool, keep you dry, etc., that's what you wear.
If your work requires a uniform, wear that. If not, I would recommend establishing your own "uniform" for work (as Antonio has discussed). You'll want something that's reasonably easy to clean. If your job requires you to get "dirty," see if you can find clothes that are the same color as the dirt, grease, stains, paint, etc. that are likely to get on your clothes.

Loafers, whether they be penny, tassel, horsebit or Belgian, are the perfect go to pair of shoes. Easy to slip on and off, they are comfortable and personify what it is to be a stylish man. 👞I like to rotate between them- black/brown, penny/tassel/horsebit- depending upon the occasion and whether I want to dress them up or down. And as for super casual and stylish, moccasins are fantastic.👍

This is rather subjective in terms of styling in Loafers. Well...nothing wrong to dress preppy and snobs for certain type. But these days many distressed and rugged Loafers are from such as john varvatos, Tod's, Santoni among others are for those like to pair with distress jeans w oversized slouchy looks

Slim-fit jeans✅ & Straight Fit jeans are the best styles to pair with Loafers in general.
The Penny loafers the most famous style for 100 years, were designed in 1930.
Ox blood or Dark brown with a casual suit.
Moccasin loafers are solely for Denim.

The thumbnail does not show jeans. It shows jeggings. Which are an absolute no-go.
And men should really visit our jeans section. Baggy is a stupid style, but wide-leg jeans with a good fitting butt, look marvelous on men with loafers. The flow of a 30cm wide leg combines great with the summer vibe of loafers. Those are also the true straight leg, as a wide-leg is around the same width from the thigh all the way down.

Matching shoes to a belt is easy with black. Good luck matching brown shoes to a brown belt. There's an infinite range of shades of browns, mostly because even the same color is different from manufacturer to manufacturer. If you try *REALLY* hard you may find a belt that is just close enough to pass for a match...after hunting for weeks or months. I've pulled it off once, and when those shoes wear out I may give up on brown shoes altogether. The alternative is to just be a slob and leave your shirt un-tucked to hide your unmatched belt.

I was planning to buy loafers but got confused between the loafers and brogue styled boots. 😅

The reason why I'm preferring little bit chunky loafers is because I'm 5'5 (and have a straight body type).

The issue arises from the fact that jeans are not formal nor are they casual. They are meant for manual labor. All attempts to "dress them up" end up failing in my view because they are not really meant to be worn in social settings. This is why they always look so awkward when paired with more formal clothes and so sloppy when paired with things like t-shirts and sneakers.

It really depends on whether your shoe is lined or not. If you don’t wear socks with a lined shoe, it won’t be a good experience-the lining won’t absorb sweat, making it very uncomfortable. On the other hand, an unlined shoe is more versatile, allowing you to choose whether to wear socks or not.

Baggy jeans don’t pair well with loafers; only straight-cut or tapered-cut jeans should be worn. While I’ve seen women wearing baggy jeans with low-cut sneakers, which can look good, loafers are a more formal shoe, so the pants should reflect that, unless the loafers are suede, which gives them a more casual than formal appearance.

Again this is another oxymoron jeans are casual wear dress shoes are formal you should not wear dress shoes with jeans. Loafers are not dress shoes, loafers are casual shoes. So loafers and jeans just simply go, but not jeans and dress shoes.

So far, if I listen to her or anyone else to know how to dress, I'm sure to be disappointed. The planet will always be divided into at least 2

Wear whatever shoes you want with straight leg jeans. And don't rely on some internet putz to tell you how to be stylish.
