Just want to say thank you for spurring a transformation in how I present myself in public. I already noticed a difference in how I am received and I have only just begun changing my wardrobe. Gents, ditch the gory death metal tees and learn how to wear men's clothing. It helped me with social anxiety like crazy. Layering the visual with a signature fragrance and the styling almost becomes a mantra that supports you throughout the day.

With so many fashion options out there, it can be overwhelming to figure out what's appropriate and stylish for different occasions. Going to holiday parties with this advice alone isn’t advised. Take advantage of the special patterns available during the holidays. Normally wearing them would be tacky or too much, but holidays make it work. Tartans of green and red or blackwatch. Fair isle sweaters, vests, or cardigans in holiday colors. It’s the most wonderful time of the year for a reason. Sweaters are the best.

Nice vid, Antonio. I have a couple of dress shirts with a more casual vibe (a windowpane plaid and a gingham) made with French cuffs. I pair them with a nice-fitting pair of dark wash denim with a bit o' stretch (34 Heritage) and a merino sweater vest. Typically, I'll do a sports jacket, too.
The cuff links up-class the outfit significantly. I complete the look with a wingtip, penny loafer, or chukka.

I work in a pretty informal office as a supervisor. I went to work for many years wearing T shirts and jeans, sometimes cargo shorts or trousers. But for the last year I switched to jeans + flannel shirts and informal shirts. After this vids I will also try some more button ups/downs and more formal shirts, specially bec I'm aiming for a promotion. I like the combination with boots, fancier sneakers, even dress shoes. This is good advice. I only wear casual button ups, often flannels, with my jeans, always tucked in. I can't really wear any kinda buttoned shirts over my pants anyway, because my wide hips makes the shirt very tight around the lowest button, which is just a terrible look. By tucking it in, that completely gets rid of that problem. I wear flannels because they're warm and soft, and I like the checkered pattern. I try to avoid the very classic red style though. But if I do wear a red one, I match it with dark gray jeans instead of classic blue.

The best fit is a tapered fit that goes from a slim straight to a skinny taper without becoming skin tight around the ankle. The gap has skinny jeans very much like this. You never mention pale pink as a colour for a dress shirt. I have lots, and paired with a light or dark navy suit looks amazing. I was always told to match your belt colour with the colour of your shoes. Brown belt = brown shoes. My favourite set up is navy suit, pink shirt and brown or chestnut shoes with belt to match. Tie = your choice. I’m from 🇬🇧 The Uk. Maybe guys in the US never wear pink! Would love your thoughts

I'm older and always went with the blue chambray button-down oxford/khaki and lighter blue linen/chino combos for casual wear. We were taught that a denim variation top with a belt and tuck was fine, but jean bottoms were only suitable for softball, flag football, fishing/hunting, and car/yard/house work. $15 or $1000 jeans are the same (adjusted for one's income of course). Any thoughts RE: chambray/linen tops?

From my years of dressing this way I avoid any dress shirts made of poplin and twill fabric shirts, when pairing shirts with jeans.
What always works for me are oxford cloth button downs. (Duh)
But to wear with a jacket I choose the finer royal oxford cloth instead of the rougher oxford cloth that I wear with chinos and shorts.
Dress shirts made of pique fabrics also seems to work, but the collar has to be really casual. (I normally buy these shirts with the wide spread or cut away collar style, which really work well to keep the collar up with a sports coat when going sans neck tie.)
Just keeping it simple is the best. Wearing jeans with a jacket is enough of a change to the convention, you don't want to make it more complicated.
I emphasize the word complicated because for most men wearing a jacket with jeans is complicated because you have to get all the subtle nuances correct to pull it off without looking like the guy at the airport wearing the suit jacket and white poplin dress shirt with jeans and black oxfords (well...usually black dress shoes with some sort of comfort soles.)

One of the most underrated features of the Anson belts (and one I personally love but have never heard anyone else mention) is how great they are when you are going through airport security! I usually check a bag, then before I get in line for TSA I throw my watch, wallet and flip off the buckle of the belt and throw it in my carry on and you're ready to go. No need to take off and wrap up the entire belt...it's a minor time savor, but when it comes to traveling, seconds turn into minutes and with minimal bag space, I think its worth it.

Question for you Antonio, how would you go about choosing a wardrobe for a person planning on, or currently working to improve their physique? How you do compensate for the growth of muscle or loss of weight when choosing something like a blazer or even a proper dress shirt?

    • @MisterRorschach90
      @MisterRorschach90 ปีที่แล้ว +7

Unfortunately if you are planning on losing more weight than 1-2 sizes down for a sports coat or suit jacket, you are going to have to buy a new wardrobe. Never buy clothes that you hope to fit into because you probably won’t end up wearing them. Just buy clothing that fits you now and have it tailored as you lose weight. But eventually if you lose too much or gain enough muscle in certain areas like the chest or shoulders, you will have to go on another shopping spree. Find things that look good on you now, and make you feel comfortable with your body. Because when you’ve lost weight and gained muscle, you will have an easier time finding items because you will feel good with or without them. You won’t have to worry if it covers a problem area or fits.

What are some good brands for undershirts? Reason I’m asking is because if I unbutton the top two buttons, I don’t want the edges of my v neck undershirt to show.

Did I hear Concealed Carry options in this video? I think this is an area of men's clothing you can expand on.

Jeans are accepted where I'm from locally and culturally. So this creates a challenge for me in my new place of residence.

Some formal shirts have collar buttons. I am curious to know what is the purpose to have those buttons? Is it for tie or simply to keep the collar in correct position?

Fashion is subjective, and there's no one size fits all way of wearing your gear. Some ppl can pull off the most odd combination and some ppl just can't. It all depends on how you wear them and carry yourself. Fashion is an art form and there are no mistakes in an art form. It's down to one's perspective and to the eyes of the beholder. Some may be put off with Christian Louboutin spike shoes, but it's a fashion statement of others.

where do you get "nude" color t shirts??

The problem today with the jeans is that most stores sell skinny jeans and even regular styles are on the skinny side which is ridiculous because most of our population is overweight. On top of that they sit bellow our waist which is terrible for our tool and make us looks like Buffalos on jeans.
I am not a fashion guy but I follow my lady advice. She said whenever you use jeans always use them with polo shirt, Turtle sweater, or Round neck t-shirt and you never will be wrongly dress and never cowboy boot cut jeans with casual sneakers.
    I think she is right.

I follow your channel for tips for my son. It would be nice if you had more Black models. Let’s be honest, many clothes fit differently on Blacks because of certain phenotypic differences.
