I got rejected from my dream uni. It was actually my local uni, a pretty fancy, prestigious Russell Group uni with nice new facilities and year abroad ties to my dream uni in my dream city in Germany. And when the decision came in, I didn't really react? It was just like, "Oh, okay. Didn't think I'd get in anyway..." I didn't even wait to find out if I got into my last two choices since I'd already gotten an offer from one and an unconditional offer from my second choice. But a few weeks ago I visited my second choice uni and, honestly? If I'd had the chance to visit it before it probably would have been my first choice to begin with. The facilities and support are amazing, the tutors are fantastic, I've got a room in a beautiful, modern hall and the university will pay for my course fees if I want to do a summer school abroad, plus my year abroad will be at a uni 30 mins outside my dream city. And if I hadn't gotten rejected by my original first choice, I wouldn't have all those amazing opportunities heading my way. Sometimes rejections are a good thing and as another of my favourite TH-camrs once said, "Maybe it's not a rejection. Maybe it's a redirection."
that's an awesome way to see it! i do think this is the universe directing me to make a good financial choice lmao. the coronavirus crash messed up my college savings a LOT, so it's great that pretty much every school that costs $70k+ per year said "no don't pay our tuition" LOL
Ohh one of the British studytubers? Also really happy to hear that you love your second choice! For me it’s super similar, I was rejected from Edinburgh (my dream Uni) but got accepted by my second choice and now I’m actually super happy with it :)
Pro tip when applying to any university: ONLY apply to the places you actually want to be at. This will 1) save you money on application fees and 2) allow you to spend time on the applications you want to succeed. Your passion will come through on those much more than the ones you're just meh about. :)
I disagree completely! I ended up getting a full scholarship from a school I almost didn't apply to because of this logic. It wasn't my first choice or even in my top 10 and it was far from the best school I was admitted to, but I'm really enjoying it, mostly because I'll graduate without debt.
This is why I ED’d to my top choice!!(I know most people don’t have a very clear top choice so it makes more sense not to ED, but this shows how different everyone’s experience with the college process is!)
ahh jasmine as a fellow senior myself whose been rejected/waitlisted to a lot of schools I definitely resonate with the whole mentality of telling myself that colleges don't define an individual yet still wanting to feel validated by college acceptances. While I'm a passive viewer of your channel, I know you have helped inspire so many out there to work hard for their dreams and to never give up! You've gotten into same amazing schools and I wish you the best for your decision process :)
“I know it in my brain but I don’t feel it fully in my heart” that is one of the most powerful statements I have ever heard. I’ve always had that situation/feeling but I have never known how to explain it or put it into words.
Hey Jasmine, when I was getting ready to decide which college to attend, my mom gave me some really valuable advice regarding financial aid; often you can leverage acceptance at another school for more money at a school you really want to go to. She encouraged (aka forced) me to write a letter to the admissions team to "just ask" for more money, and shockingly it worked. I explained that while [school A] was my top choice, I was really having to consider going to equally- if not more "prestigious" [school B] because of the financial aid I was being offered. Because of that letter, [school A] ended up giving me an additional $80,000! Just goes to show that my mom was right - you can't get what you don't ask for. Good luck with your decision!
@@xavierpenetrante5406 No, I did a separate email to the admissions office (if you have a specific admin officer you've been working with, use their direct email)
exactly this. with every rejection I was like "yea, I didn't do nearly enough for that..." and with every acceptance I was like "oh... oh wow that's insane... uhhh do i really deserve that?"
I felt so bad when she got rejected twice in a row, she looked so sad and then UCLA accepted her and she was so happy! yay Jaz!! (even if I'm a year late)
this is really telling into how random and strange college admissions are. I've been a follower of your study gram for a while now, and you seem like a super hard-working and motivated person - a person deserving of attending places such as Cal, Stanford, etc. hopefully, these rejections don't get you down, cuz you got into so many other wonderful places. haha.
jas, i’ve watched you grow over the years and you’ve helped me so so much with school. congratulations on all your accomplishments and i’m so glad you’ve grown up well !
Jasmine. A long long time ago and for many many years I was the Director of Admissions (at two universities). Admissions are a numbers' game. How many applicants and how good is their academic background for that particular year. One may be good enough to be admitted one year and not on another year. Many students would give anything to be admitted to some of the colleges/universities that you were admitted to. So you can be proud. Somehow I have the feeling that you are everything but mediocre or average ( you said that in your video.) I wish you every success but again I feel that is not really necessary because you will do very well.
So proud of you! You deserve this! And to those that rejected you, they just lost an amazing person. I really want to get to University of Michigan or University of Texas so praying I can get in! Can’t wait to do this kind of video next year.
Never take rejections from the super prestigious universities personally, they have so many talented candidates (and just candidates in general!) that they just have to pick some. Congratulations on where you did win! You earned it! I will say that, as a college person, you should really factor in the cost of college if you have to pay your own way. Regardless of which school you choose, all experiences will result in a piece of paper, and it is generally better not to have six figures of debt that cant be cleared via bankruptcy to get that paper. Just have some caution and I’m sure your choice will be the right one!
college admissions are traumatizing. i felt the same way, because we are SO conditioned to value prestige over knowing all of the schools we got into are amazing, academically enriching schools. you did amazing and you’re going to do amazing things at whichever school you bless with your presence girl
Let me just say, I have the ultimate amount of respect for you and the way you handled your rejections and acceptances (congrats!!!). I recently watched another you tubers college video and she came off extremely entitled, but you, on the other hand, have an extremely humble and grateful mindset. I know you were disappointed by some of the outcomes, but I think you have some amazing options!! Thank you for having such a healthy perspective on this difficult process, and I hope this video reaches many current and future seniors :)
12:15 broke my heart ): As someone who graduated from undergrad about a year ago and is moving on to her master's, you're going to succeed and do amazing things wherever you go. It never means that you're not good enough. Even though you don't know me personally, I'm so proud of you!
I am a junior right now and yes I am also stressed with college to the point that I don’t know what schools want from me anymore, but you are right college process is subjective & selective, but it does not reflect who we are. This is now my motto when doing college applications.
I feel the rejection. I am on the 1% of top students in my school, and I got rejected from all, except one, which has offered me several scholarships, but I don't know if I can afford it
ngl whenever she got accepted and got excited/happy my heart got happy with her. i’ve been watching studyquill for such a long time idk it made me feel so happy to see her get accepted 😭🥺🥺
Hi to any senior reading this! I graduated from college 2 years ago. My dream school was actually USC but I got hit with a rejection. I had only applied to a couple other schools and I ended up realizing that UCI would be my best bet. I was honestly in such a negative headspace going there. I was disappointed and not excited. Little did I know that that was going to be the best choice I ever made ☺️☺️ wherever you guys go, college is what you make of it and I’m sure you’ll be happy! Also yay!! So happy for you to be accepted to Irvine!
When Jasmine was on the verge of tears after being denied, I got so sad. I hope she realizes that she IS enough. Just because a couple colleges said no doesn’t mean she “wasn’t good enough.” She’s smart and talented and that’s what matters.
Jasmine it's ok to be denied. It aslo happened to me just last week. I also cried a little but then there's nothing else we can do but to move on. :))) Btw I was also feeling my adrenaline rush as much as it did to you, bh just watching you! That's how much I love you and this channel! My face suddenly changed when, Idk were you about to cry at some point on the video? Love you Jasmine! An avid fan here!!
jasmine congratulations! 🎊🎉 I’m so proud of you! you worked so hard for your acceptances, the colleges that rejected you lost out on a star. I know the Bay Area is all about the prestige, but go wherever you can picture yourself going and enjoying :) good luck girl!
when you were talking about the different parts of you and the college process being so opaque, i felt that so strongly. i ended up getting rejected from my dream school and it felt horrible because i kept thinking that there was something wrong with me or that i didn’t do enough to prove how much i wanted it, but you’re so right about being qualified and unlucky or lucky, and i don’t think a lot of people really get that it’s like that. i ended up getting some other great options, but when i got those rejections it hurt a lot no matter what. HOWEVER at the end of the day i think it’s super important for all of us to realize that it’s not our fault at all and the college admissions process is so weird to the point where it’s just kind of random. i’m really glad you mentioned that, and i wish you a lot of luck in your future!! congratulations on all your acceptances, you have a lot of great options and remember that you 100% deserved all of them even if you doubt that sometimes :)) (also ik this comment didn’t really make sense but the way i related SO hard,,)
Such reflective and thoughtful comments. I wish I had this mindset when I was a high school senior receiving rejections, especially from my dream school. I attend another peer university that I had only applied to due to concerns of prestige with barely any consideration for my goals or aspirations-which was just not mature nor smart. In fact, I never even visited before I accepted the offer and flew 3000 miles away to venture on the next 4 years of my life. I am extremely happy and satisfied with my decision, though it took a lot of adjusting, which was at times painful and awkward. As a junior in college now, I see that certain shifts in our plans may initially appear negative but are actually beneficial and crucial to our growth.
Congratulations to all your success over the years of you being on this channel AND making it through high school!! you are a bright star jasmine and everything that you have obtained is because of your hardwork and dedication. Whichever school you choose, we as subscribers, are proud of you and want the best. Good luck with any and everything you take on in the future (you got this!)
Well done!! UCLA is such a great school like honestly it’s really exclusive and you should be so proud of yourself! Don’t worry about what you didn’t get, embrace what you did!
Hi Jasmine - I'm so proud of you for making it through this process even after going through burnout. Burnout is so real and college admissions stress is even realer- you are such an amazing human and wherever you go you will do super amazing!
I cried so hard when I was rejected from UCLA I had been wanting to go there since I was 6. I used to go to the university hospital where the med students would get real life experience working on real patients overseen by professionals and I fell in love with the campus. Getting rejected was hands down the worst feeling ever.
I actually am not planning to apply to ivies because i know i will get rejected and also it is a bothersome to my mental health because after i get rejected then part of me will a,ways say I am not hood enough and honestly i just wish I can change that part of myself since not getting into tops schools does not mean you are a failure or your life is over and this needs to be emphasized to all people.
I am a junior too...I haven't yet made my complete college list (but i'm really hoping i'd get into Minerva) anyways what I wanted to say as an international student I also fee the same...the colleges that are known here is basically the ivies and some other top schools like MIT,Stanford..etc if you basically got into one of these you're a genius..and if not but you got to other schools abroad then you're great..in this position your college doesn't matter all that matters is that you're studying abroad which is kinda stressful because studying in the us or abroad is VERY difficult for international students...it's like if you did get into the ivies you are THE TOP NOTCH..and if you didn't you're like kinda can't be too happy about it and almost everyone is gonna look down on you because they don't know a uni with that name even existed. my advice to fellow juniors is to NOT CARE about everyone because ANY uni you'll go to you'll go there ALONE..you will have ALL THE CHOICE to make these the best four years of your life because you know that uni is RIGHT FOR YOU.
i also felt your rant. i literally just applied to my community college and i couldn’t be happier but it’s hard to listen to people be like “guys look i made to these schools!” it’s hard definitely. i’m glad you said all that. a lot of people still need to hear it. much love and luck for you were either you going ❤️
dang, fastest five stages of grief after the yale decision that I've ever seen hahaha. So much maturity here - huge congrats on your acceptances and the scholarships!!
Your acceptance to UCLA made me so happy for you Jasmine!!! I’ve been watching you for about 3 years now and honestly you deserved all your acceptances, you’ve worked so hard on your academics and extracurriculars. Congrats!!!
Ok ik you won't see this but I gotta say it. Over the past few months I've slowly started deviating from the studyblr like yt/ig community bc I always got this awful feeling of disappointment looking at ppl who seemed to have such perfect, successful lives while maintaining a yt channel. Ik it's unreasonable for me to think that way bc I don't even want a yt channel lmao I just felt a bit diminishes. I'm also in the bay area and that competition for prestigious colleges gets to me too. But this video really helped. I really appreciated that you showed what it actually feels to get rejected, but still a logical and reasonable outlook on the matters. It is a very confusing, seemingly arbitrary process that we devote so much of our time to, and it's nice to see someone acknowledge that. Thank you, Jasmine.
Your reaction to your UCLA acceptance was literally me when I was accepted to the university I’m attending in the fall. I had already been offered compromises “pathways” into less competitive schools so I realistically had an expectation of being denied at the point when the decisions came out. Opening that status update was literally the most surprising/exciting thing of my life. Wishing you luck for school next year!
Congratulations! I got into UCLA too (: I feel you on the whole prestige thing. People want to be better than everyone, and people feel pressured to go to these super elite schools. It can be super toxic ): The whole process is so random. I have a friend that was rejected from “lower level UCs”, but they got into Cal! I’ve been watching your content for years now, and I know that you are an amazing and hardworking person. Thank you for sharing this with us. The whole college process is super taxing, and I’m glad that you shared the not-so-pretty side of it all. Wherever you go, your viewers will support you no matter what! Rooting for us, class of 2024!
I loved the introduction man. 💜❤️ Also I feel the same about applications. I remember when my sister telling me it doesn't matter which school you go to as long as you as a person grow and learn from it. I feel that is really true. Uni gives you the opportunity but it is you who has to do the work and shine. I really hope people understand prestige does not matter as long as I am doing great and growing as a person and learning from it. You go girll, even I applied to 3 unis which will obviously reject me but hey at least applied. Congratulations on the acceptances ❤️💜
Hey, I just finished this process of opening rejection letters and let me just say I love how raw, honest and open you were with how you felt. I don't often watch reaction videos because they make me feel like I "wasn't enough" or "didn't do enough" but I loved the way you approached and being real about the pressure we're under to go for elites. Much Love!
i love how you said that u were a little bit reactionless (whatever word that is) but every single reaction was just so genuine and you could tell that you were grateful for every college you got accepted into
that's so cool, congratulations!! USA college system looks complicated and difficult, I can't really understand it. here in Brazil everything is basically based on our grades, if you got the grade high enough to it then you're in. you can try again every year or every six months to some colleges, it's a test (sometimes two and rarely three)
yea our system is basically consisted of grades, test scores, extra curriculars, and essays, sometimes interviews, and basically they choose you based on how well they think you will fit in to their school. It’s more like applying to a job kind of
I am a passive viewer of yours and been a viewer for almost 1/2 year. I’ve been in your place to be rejected in my dream uni (I live in the philippines and trust me, the college acceptance of being in a top uni is toxic) although there is reconsideration letters which I got to my 2nd choice uni through reconsideration letter. However don’t let these college letters whether you got accepted or not because at the end of the day, what really defines college is that they prepare you for the real world and that college also hone you as an individual.

You really helped me through my school especially since I never really needed to study and your videos helped motivate me to study and become a better student. When you spoke about how you were split between the irrational side of your brain and the healthy side I started crying because you are so amazing and you are going to do such great things 🥺 Stay safe !!
I love how she shrugged of rejection from Yale by saying "it's really cold in Connecticut anyway" 😂😂 gods I only hope I can react like that when I get rejected
I’m so happy you got into UCLA! it’s definitely one of my dream schools to go to especially since I don’t live in California. Update us on how everything goes :)
I appreciate how in depth you went with the midset of seniors during processes like this. I hit hard, and I'm really glad I'm not the only one who feels inadequate when I get denied from a school I really want to go to. So, thank you!

I feel proud of you, any kind of achivement is important even when the results were not the ones that you wanted, always remeber you was strong enough to try. Am from Mexico and I agree with your opinions about college. xoxo
Honestly you just voiced out a healthy description of my (and maybe others') college anxiety that crippled me since two years ago. I got weighted so much by the prestige expectations, as you mentioned, and did not realize that it was a bigger problem that I thought. So in all, thank you so much for making this video. It relieved a significant amount of my mental and emotional burden. Love you!
I definitely relate to this when I had to go through it, coming from a Catholic, private school with only 47 in our graduating class. It is rough, but all this will pass, and hopefully our culture changes in a way that we stop putting so much on academics etc. Also, my friend goes to UCLA now, so if you go, hopefully you'll see her one day!
Aww jasmine, literally I'm in the middle of watching you teary eyed, I'm 14 in the UK and you just need to breathe. ❤❤❤ Even if you dont get in you are successful in so many other ways and this platform is one. Stay strong ❤🌈💧
hi jasmine, im a senior too and just finished the emotional rollercoasters of college decisions. i feel you, especially when you said that you wonder if there was something you could've changed or done better to get into the schools you spent so much hard work applying to. its so frustrating how even as we try to appreciate the schools that accepted us, every rejection makes that harder to do. but regardless of where you go, you have such a strong work ethic and sense of creativity that you will bring to the schools that valued you for who you are :)
and yes, the whole prestige factor (especially with private T20 colleges) in the bay area is soooo frustrating to try to counter, because the value of a college is more than just its ranking or what's most tangible, but with so much social pressure and high expectation its kind of hard to look beyond that prestige.
Jasmine, you did SO GOOD! Sometimes colleges have quotas to fill when they accept applicants (ie. we need x number of this gender/race/major/other unique qualities admitted into our school each year) that might fill up and that has nothing to do with if you're good enough because CLEARLY you're amazing and have already accomplished so much in your life so far! 😊 Back in 2013 (I'm an oldie 😂) I had two friends apply to the same university, one with a 4.0 and 35 ACT and all the extracurriculars you'd want to see in an applicant; the other had some extracurriculars, a 3.5 and an ACT in the mid-20s. Want to guess who got in? The second friend. I'm not saying one friend deserved to go to this school over the other, but it can show that schools don't JUST care about the numbers and achievements you've accomplished. I'm glad you're excited about the schools you've gotten into and I know no matter where you go, you're going to do amazing things! ✌🏻❤️
I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!! UCLA is a an amazing school and all that hard work you have put in has definitely paid off. Wherever you choose, it's meant to be. AHHHH I can't even type omg I'm so happy for you. This is sort of a ramble but goodluck 😂❤️❤️❤️❤️
omg i legit remember when i commented “congrats on 20k subscribers!” and i got a reply from you back in like 2016 and now you’re going college 🥺 i just wanted to thank you and congratulate you for everything! you’ve definitely changed mine and so many other people’s lives through your channel, so remember that and be proud of yourself ! don’t let the corrupt college admissions offices and this toxic culture surrounding it get to you :( stay safe and i hope you find the right college for you! good luck, and once again, congratulations 🥳

exactly this. with every rejection I was like "yea, I didn't do nearly enough for that..." and with every acceptance I was like "oh... oh wow that's insane... uhhh do i really deserve that?"
That was too real 😂
This is the chillest uni acceptance reaction I’ve seen yet it makes me so sad, calm, but happy🙂 congratulations from Korea🎉
Your one of my favourite TH-camrs
Awwww. I've been watching you for years, and I can't believe you're going to college now. You've helped me with so much and WE ARE LL PROUD OF YOU!
here's hoping that college will start on time in the fall! thank you for all your support over the years
When the coach said “ I know that’s why I’m the one letting you know” I could feel the awkwardness deep within my bones
I felt so bad when she got rejected twice in a row, she looked so sad and then UCLA accepted her and she was so happy! yay Jaz!! (even if I'm a year late)
this is really telling into how random and strange college admissions are. I've been a follower of your study gram for a while now, and you seem like a super hard-working and motivated person - a person deserving of attending places such as Cal, Stanford, etc. hopefully, these rejections don't get you down, cuz you got into so many other wonderful places. haha.
jas, i’ve watched you grow over the years and you’ve helped me so so much with school. congratulations on all your accomplishments and i’m so glad you’ve grown up well !
thank you so much for your support!
Girl, don’t cry any school wouldn’t be sane to not accept you
I'm literally crying hearing her voice shake 😭😭
Somehow I have the feeling that you are everything but mediocre or average ( you said that in your video.)
I wish you every success but again I feel that is not really necessary because you will do very well.
Could you provide some advice for people applying?
So proud of you! You deserve this! And to those that rejected you, they just lost an amazing person. I really want to get to University of Michigan or University of Texas so praying I can get in! Can’t wait to do this kind of video next year.
thank you!! good luck with your college app process, hopefully the advice videos i'll be working on this year will be helpful
Good luck! I got waitlisted at UMich, and my stats weren’t the best so shoot your shot!
Good luck! :) im still a freshman but hey 💕 (I rly wanna get in uni of Toronto or the royal vet college in London)
emoghost :D i am also planning to apply for Uni of Toronto and they say it is very competitive
I got into UT as my reach, so it’s very possible. Don’t give up!
Just have some caution and I’m sure your choice will be the right one!
i love how you passively roasted usc lmaoo
- j o e l l e - that was cool
college admissions are traumatizing. i felt the same way, because we are SO conditioned to value prestige over knowing all of the schools we got into are amazing, academically enriching schools. you did amazing and you’re going to do amazing things at whichever school you bless with your presence girl
Thank you for having such a healthy perspective on this difficult process, and I hope this video reaches many current and future seniors :)
i got 15 rejections, 3 waitlists, and 6 acceptances. the college admissions process is a S H A M ! congrats on all ur acceptances!
24 applications? Wait I'm not from the US. How many applications are normal??? I had 2...
@Nicole Dambacher you can apply to as many as you want at least I think so
@@nicoledambacher4660 haha normal is anywhere from 4-10, i was just excessive
10:53 is straight up tea ☕️ they don’t know who they are missing out on ❤️
12:15 broke my heart ): As someone who graduated from undergrad about a year ago and is moving on to her master's, you're going to succeed and do amazing things wherever you go. It never means that you're not good enough. Even though you don't know me personally, I'm so proud of you!
I am a junior right now and yes I am also stressed with college to the point that I don’t know what schools want from me anymore, but you are right college process is subjective & selective, but it does not reflect who we are. This is now my motto when doing college applications.
good luck next year!
I feel the rejection. I am on the 1% of top students in my school, and I got rejected from all, except one, which has offered me several scholarships, but I don't know if I can afford it
I am international student, to get you all in context
I was there 2 years ago. It works out some how some way
crazy chances
totally interested in a “how I got into” clickbait video ;))
ngl whenever she got accepted and got excited/happy my heart got happy with her. i’ve been watching studyquill for such a long time idk it made me feel so happy to see her get accepted 😭🥺🥺
those 2 dislikes are the colleges that rejected the beautiful and intelligent jasmine
I feel like you were a different kind of happy when getting the UCLA Acceptance, I'm guessing that's where you're going
hey! can you please check out my college decision reaction video!💖 (including UCLA)
@@lanasami740 i get that you need the traction but self-promoting in another youtuber’s video isn’t really the right thing to do.

replying 9 months later isnt wrong, self promoting on someone else's video is sorta messed up, don't you think?

BAY AREA!!! Yeah, I totally understand the pressure to attend a prestigious school from family and in general in the area.
jasmine congratulations! 🎊🎉 I’m so proud of you! you worked so hard for your acceptances, the colleges that rejected you lost out on a star. I know the Bay Area is all about the prestige, but go wherever you can picture yourself going and enjoying :) good luck girl!
thanks so much!!
you are actually the cutest person when you react to the results
imagine applying to 15 DIFFERENT COLLEGES and still getting accepted to over 50% of them *could not relate*
when you were talking about the different parts of you and the college process being so opaque, i felt that so strongly. i ended up getting rejected from my dream school and it felt horrible because i kept thinking that there was something wrong with me or that i didn’t do enough to prove how much i wanted it, but you’re so right about being qualified and unlucky or lucky, and i don’t think a lot of people really get that it’s like that. i ended up getting some other great options, but when i got those rejections it hurt a lot no matter what.
Do they explain why
@@kindsplash21 no
AHHHHHHHHH I FEEL LIKE I’VE BEEN WATCHING YOU GROW UP ALL OF THESE YEARS AND NOW YOU’RE GOING TO COLLEGE that’s crazy you were once so smol
I am a junior too...I haven't yet made my complete college list (but i'm really hoping i'd get into Minerva)
anyways what I wanted to say as an international student I also fee the same...the colleges that are known here is basically the ivies and some other top schools like MIT,Stanford..etc
if you basically got into one of these you're a genius..and if not but you got to other schools abroad then you're great..in this position your college doesn't matter all that matters is that you're studying abroad which is kinda stressful because studying in the us or abroad is VERY difficult for international students...it's like if you did get into the ivies you are THE TOP NOTCH..and if you didn't you're like kinda can't be too happy about it and almost everyone is gonna look down on you because they don't know a uni with that name even existed.
my advice to fellow juniors is to NOT CARE about everyone because ANY uni you'll go to you'll go there ALONE..you will have ALL THE CHOICE to make these the best four years of your life because you know that uni is RIGHT FOR YOU.
@@nourhanalex1824 "not hood enough" 😂
I literally aspire to have your level headedness and organization. You seem like such a sweet person. Congrats on your acceptances. You earned them!!
the slight roast at usc is a mood, but also congratulations on your acceptance!
i also felt your rant. i literally just applied to my community college and i couldn’t be happier but it’s hard to listen to people be like “guys look i made to these schools!” it’s hard definitely. i’m glad you said all that. a lot of people still need to hear it. much love and luck for you were either you going ❤️
dang, fastest five stages of grief after the yale decision that I've ever seen hahaha.
I swear whenever I see your pink sheep pj’s I know this is gonna be an especially good video
“i already went through all 5 stages of grief” LMAOOOOOO
Congratulations! I got into UCLA too (: I feel you on the whole prestige thing. People want to be better than everyone, and people feel pressured to go to these super elite schools. It can be super toxic ): The whole process is so random. I have a friend that was rejected from “lower level UCs”, but they got into Cal! I’ve been watching your content for years now, and I know that you are an amazing and hardworking person. Thank you for sharing this with us. The whole college process is super taxing, and I’m glad that you shared the not-so-pretty side of it all. Wherever you go, your viewers will support you no matter what! Rooting for us, class of 2024!
your reactions are literally my favorite out of every college decisions reactions I've ever seen
I loved the introduction man. 💜❤️
Also I feel the same about applications.
Much Love!
when she got sad i literally got DEPRESSED. she’s so innocent. and i love her.
i love how you said that u were a little bit reactionless (whatever word that is) but every single reaction was just so genuine and you could tell that you were grateful for every college you got accepted into
that's so cool, congratulations!!
It’s more like applying to a job kind of
You don’t deserve to be sad. All of us see how hard you work, and how much you deserve what you have. We love you. Stay happy :))
I’m literally 13 and can’t stop watching these videos😂
I am a passive viewer of yours and been a viewer for almost 1/2 year. I’ve been in your place to be rejected in my dream uni (I live in the philippines and trust me, the college acceptance of being in a top uni is toxic) although there is reconsideration letters which I got to my 2nd choice uni through reconsideration letter. However don’t let these college letters whether you got accepted or not because at the end of the day, what really defines college is that they prepare you for the real world and that college also hone you as an individual.
ayyy denied from usc and brown squad !! + to anyone else reading these comments feeling bad, some of the smartest and most interesting ppl i know were denied from great schools, college decisions can be literally so random it's tragic 😭congrats on all ur acceptances!!! im excited to see where you'll end up 💙💙💙 im still waiting on nyu to come out today but if thats a rejection like i expect lol i'll probably end up at northwestern for writing! love 2 all other seniors struggling through getting bad news and rejections in the middle of a quarantine 😭we'll get through this and end up somewhere great for us 💙
this is the most chill and relaxed college reaction video i've ever watched and I love this
Everytime u looked sad i rlly wanted to hug u. I guess i just feel rlly sad when u looked sad coz ive watched u for so long. Wish u all the best n sending u hugs!
awww, jasmine i'm so proud of you~! as a rising senior, the college app season is dawning upon me (even though i'm not mentally prepared for it) and i am terrified. haha, i hope you have a great next four years at the college you choose!
Hey, I'm also a stressed-out senior who just got my college admissions results! I totally related and needed to hear what you had to share. Thank you for making this video. :)
Joycelin L. Do you know where you’re going next year?
this is so crazy 🥺 i’m so happy for you!! I’ve been watching you since 8th grade and it’s so crazy that you are going to college soon.
You are a very mature and old soul. I hope you go far! Thank you for sharing this journey with us! 🙏🏼
Her: doesn't get into a university
Also her: Darn
Me: doesn't get into a university
Also me: screams aggressively at the rejection letter for 30 minutes.
omg youre like the healthiest person ever. your skin is glowing, youre mentally sound and extremely smart. Love the content you make! Goodluck in college! :)
Stay strong
❤🌈💧
I dropped everything to watch this
hi jasmine, im a senior too and just finished the emotional rollercoasters of college decisions. i feel you, especially when you said that you wonder if there was something you could've changed or done better to get into the schools you spent so much hard work applying to. its so frustrating how even as we try to appreciate the schools that accepted us, every rejection makes that harder to do. but regardless of where you go, you have such a strong work ethic and sense of creativity that you will bring to the schools that valued you for who you are :)
and yes, the whole prestige factor (especially with private T20 colleges) in the bay area is soooo frustrating to try to counter, because the value of a college is more than just its ranking or what's most tangible, but with so much social pressure and high expectation its kind of hard to look beyond that prestige.
imma watch all the ads for you because you deserve it so much!! love you
LOL thank you! hopefully youtube autogenerated ads are kind to you, i do not know how to operate This System :')
aw i relate so much with your feeling with the bay area and i wish you the best whenever you decide to go!
Back in 2013 (I'm an oldie 😂) I had two friends apply to the same university, one with a 4.0 and 35 ACT and all the extracurriculars you'd want to see in an applicant; the other had some extracurriculars, a 3.5 and an ACT in the mid-20s.
“I’ve already gone through all 5 stages of grief I’m over it” 😂😂
i love how throughout the video she is so down to earth and she is so reasonable when she gets denied
“Connecticut is too cold” applies to schools in MA lol
omg i legit remember when i commented “congrats on 20k subscribers!” and i got a reply from you back in like 2016 and now you’re going college 🥺
i just wanted to thank you and congratulate you for everything! you’ve definitely changed mine and so many other people’s lives through your channel, so remember that and be proud of yourself ! don’t let the corrupt college admissions offices and this toxic culture surrounding it get to you :(
stay safe and i hope you find the right college for you! good luck, and once again, congratulations 🥳
thanks for all your support! it means the world to me
