Growing up in the NY/NJ area during the 1980's, one of the best hours on TV were 11pm to Midnight on channel 11 WPIX. It was The Odd Couple followed by The Honeymooners and every weekday night, during the summers, I would watch them on a 13'inch b/w TV my older brother gave me. Year after year, episode after episode, I saw them all, plenty of times. This episode of The Honeymooners was among the best of the original 39. I still remember some of my favorite lines, "Hey, Ralph, he's even bigger than your friend Shirley", "A pox on you and all your ancestors" and of course, the unforgettable "Get a load of fatso over there" Honeymooners is a classic show that I never tire of watching.

I can confirm this also.. from bx, NY. I might add ours was 13" b/w on top of color RCA wood floor model, then another 20" panasonic that neither worked. Also a clothes hangar for an antenna, and plyers to change the channel..lol. Good times for sure.

I had just moved to N.Y.C. from U.K. to be with my girlfriend, 1983, staying in her Auntie's house out on the island, watched this most nights in our small room on a teeny telly and loads of Star Trek repeats if I recall correctly. Classic television. It's 11pm. Do You Know Where Your Children Are?, I'll never forget that, seemed so strange.

From what I've read and seen, even though it was live-to-air, Gleason wanted the cast to not worry if they occasionally missed a cue or blew a line. He said real-life conversations are never word-perfect or neatly synchronized, so they shouldn't aim for perfection.
To that end, he preferred for the cast to be under rehearsed rather than over rehearsed so that there was always room for spontaneity.

The actor who played "Harvey" was George Mathews, a year after George appeared in this episode, he was a supporting cast member of the 1956 film "The Last Wagon" Directed by Delmer Daves. George played Sheriff "Bull" Harper who tracked down Comanche Todd (Richard Widmark), and took him prisoner and also co-starring a very young Nick Adams. The film was shot on location in Sedona, AZ near the mouth of Oak Creek Canyon, George played his role, much as he did in this Honeymooners episode, "tough guy". If you are into Western films, I highly recommend this, with beautiful high Desert scenery and shot in Deluxe Color and CinemaScope............
