I’ve noticed when people say they don’t have enough money, it really means they don’t have enough to support their preferred way of life. It is possible to live within very tight budgets when you work at it wherever you are
I do not buy coffee out. Car is paid off, I
I don't t intend to buy another. I meet 3 girl friends each Friday for lunch . 2 of us are 73, 1 is 88 and 1 is soon to be 84 in less than 2 months. Generally spend $5,0[0. If I get a meal, it's 8, feeds me ateast 2 meals. I was raised on a dairy farm and we have almost always lived frugally. Love your videos. God bless you and yours❤🙏🙏❤
Hi from South Africa. I love you guys. I am a 67 year old widow. Since my husband passed away 14months ago I took a deduction of 30% of income. I follow your principles and am thriving. I am debt free. Thank you so much.
We are taught from childhood to be good consumers. I used to eat out at least everyday. I wasted money on stuff I didn't need. I did keep my cars for a long time and saved on car payments. I have stopped being wasteful with my money and now have a good amount of savings.
For some reason, when I eat out, my brain calculates "good deal" and "cheap," but then I go to the store and realize I could've made 4 or them for the same price. I have fast-food blindness.
Easy to make coffee at home. Not hard to add flavor to it. Just look at your spices.
I live in a small area that doesn't have big stores. So since it takes me about 40 minutes one way to get to the regular stores, and I go to 3 different ones I always take my small cooler bag with an ice pack and take lunch, drinks and snacks with me. I am not going to pay those ridiculous prices for fast food which is unhealthy and makes me feel bad anyway.
No car payments since 1995
Love your "lives!!" Makes us feel like we're right there with you
Walmart starts 14 dollars hour.. some states pay more, they pay college tuition and book fees...lots of people use this benefit
I am 50+ and I love to spend my vacation in youth hostels sometimes. Although I almost live like a hermit, I love it, when I have decided to go to a place like this, to chat with so many different people and to make new experiences. Often there a music groups and I can listen to wonderful (often classical) music for free; the food is most of the time as good as in a good hotel, they offer rooms with your own bathroom and children know how to behave there - and the price is unbeatable :-)
You are right on all counts. It is lovely being debt free. Thanks for all you do.
I just received Volumes 1 and 2 today, and wow! These are some hefty books, chock full of EVERYTHING! I was so excited to come home and see the boxes at my door. I’m going through Volume 1 right now, and can’t wait to get back to cooking simply and less expensive. I’m 😮70, on SS, living alone and still work because I have to. I can see that these books will be a lifesaver for me. Getting back to basics doesn’t have to mean doing without. I have recently started watching your videos. It’s so nice to see how involved and supportive your husband and mom are. Thank you!❤
I'm always amazed watching American movies & seeing people wearing sleeveless or short sleeved tops in the middle of winter in their homes! I gather it's the norm to have heated homes that are warmer than summer temps!! It's nearly winter here for Aussies & we're wearing layers. We don't use our heater until it's absolutely necessary. Of course, it's easier where we live as we don't have snow! Great tips as usual. 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
I shop once a month for groceries. Pick up a few items I run out of a couple weeks later if needed ( cheese for example or find a couple items on sale in the Safeway or Fred Meyer app ), go out to eat twice a month for either breakfast or lunch. Never dinner. Meal prep two items on Sundays to use for lunches and breakfast for my work week. I have also noticed that for a lower cost treat you can always hit a happy hour and get a lower cost on food. Coffee twice a month out the rest of the time I make it at home. I also like to pick up the skinny drink stick packets in a small box from DT and have one of those when I want lemonade.
170,000 miles for a Toyota isn't bad. They have a longevity that many other brands don't. My 2003 Lexus (I bought used) just reached 200,000 miles. My husband, who is a journeyman mechanic, just serviced it for $700 in parts. He expects it to last another 200,000 miles.
Love the music
Your chocolate frosting recipe is awesome!
1, never I make cold brew at home. I can't spend $7 on a serving of diabetes in a cup.
I have been following you guys forever 96/97, I finally bought a print book !
RE: PAYING FOR KIDS' SPORTS
the killer part is...most, if not (i dare say) 99% of the time, the kids don't continue beyond high school!
I just ordered dinning on a dime 2!
That is so true, my daughter is so frugal now that she has to work and pay for her own stuff
Hi, are you ever going to offer Volume 2 in a GF/DF version?
I’ve never understood why people have it at 60-65 in the house during the summer. Once you go outside you want to die and when you come home you’re freezing.
In 1969 I had a job f on r$169 per hour. I bought my clothes and save for my first car I paid $500.00 for it in 1970. I to was a Buick Skylark. I'd I can do they coul DD they can do it .
Ordered my planner 2 days ago so excited to get it!!!!
I make coffee at home for me and my son during the week, and then a full pot on Saturdays and Sundays when my husband is home. I buy fancy coffee beans, and it still only costs me $1.50 for the two of us each day and $2.40 for a full pot. You can have really good coffee for a lot less than Starbucks!
Chuckling over here about eating beans and rice. Both are expensive here. Bean sprouts and tofu are cheap here, though. And certain k8nds of mushrooms.
My boys play baseball at the local park. We don’t live paycheck to paycheck but we do budget! In late game nights we do chicken wraps or sandwiches instead of the concession stand or drive thru. Even using a salad kit and pre grilled chicken it’s Sooooo much cheaper than takeout!
Chocolate syrup makes a good gift!
i make your seasoned salt now. its yum
10 days is too long to be there. Five is good. It’s super fun to go. There is soo much to do. And the food and atmosphere are amazing. I can’t wait to go again. I am wayyy overdue for a vacation.
There are many free events in towns, cities, and states that people can enjoy if you can’t go on a vacation. We pack a lunch and bring drinks to save when we can. Can I ask what jazz music you play? It’s very good!👍
Only have coffee out occasionally
Charcoal brickettes are the best for removing odors. Make sure you don't use the ones with fuel on them. A bowl with a few in fridge or car ect are excellent for removing odors overnight
What do you think of people who insist on only buying organic? I personally think its all a gimmick!
I do panera very occasionally (4 times a year?) by using gift cards either gifted to me or earned by doing surveys. So not quite "no".
Summer is a coming and a lot of people are beginning to buy summer wardrobes. Consider cutting off those long pants to turn them into cutoffs. Consider cutting sleeves off of tee shirts. If yoire brave, look for how to cut a tee shirt into a tank top. BTW - Shirts and tops on the snug side fit much better with the sleeves cut off. If its a non raveling knit, (or tee shirt knit) you can even cut v's into the neck line.
1 No coffee out. Getting a Starbucks cup helped wean one person I know who had a stroke. Such "to go cups" are available at Dollar. Stay cations are fun too.
You didn't have the right library! Our library has programs for the children where they all gather in one room and listen to the speaker. Sometimes they eat and make crafts. I didn't realize our area was blessed in that regard. So many programs. A good way to introduce them to sitting still, reading books, and getting along with others.
We bought a house with a huge garden, deck and a pool so we can staycation all year at home, our winters are not that bad so no need to go to Cuba etc. we save thousands by not going, we don't drink, I can cook better meals and if I really need to we can order in a meal for a treat. I would rather use the money to up grade the house and garden which is an investment that pays back not a loss.
How about some Thai food recipes too ?
I definitely feel if there are programs at the library (not trans reading day) that are GREAT for kids if it isn't horribly far and you can do it maybe a couple times a month. Having kids pick out books they are interested in is really impossible to keep them excited about reading. It is a big help with homeschooling. Don't wear yourself out, but try to fit it in. Also, if your park isn't a horrible inconvenience, that's good for "PE" and good for everyone to get outside. I homeschooled some my child's educational journey, and I found these suggestions to be helpful. May the Lord bless you and guide yiu in your homeschool journey. 😊
Just In invest in the cook books living on a dime I am savings a lot of money now and just make time it doesn’t take much time in cooking and cleaning up the dishes 🎉 I love cooking and cooking
My favorite cookbooks! ❤️💙
Pepper Princess just did a great Taco Bell cooking video
You don't have to stop drinking coffee; make coffee at home and at work. You can even splurge on good coffee and real cream while still paying less than at a drive-through. Buy an espresso machine if you like the fancy stuff (like I do) and you can make your own at home.
I buy my coffee and stock up when it's BOGO. For one PKG I spend less than I would for a cup of Starbucks and it's better.
They are begging for trades in our area. Local tech school has a free 2 yr program for dental assistants, CNA,office assist, mechatronics, welding, etc... internships, job offers at the end. 2 of my kids are being paid full time while in school. You don't have to rack up debt
My kids paid their own insurance and for their car once they started working.
No Starbucks
My friends grandson came through when you was talking about getting out of debt.He is 16 I said Jr Your not in debt his grandma said well he has a cell phone bill he pays monthly. I am going to have to explain to him what you mean.
Jumping on late... ❤

One way to save money is live rural where there’s nothing you can go buy. 🤣
Oh please buy a cheap coffee maker and make it at home. You can buy a coffee maker for $10 as well as coffee. You can brew your own tea as well.
I can’t understand why you would door dash Starbucks 🤣😄
What is a door dash ? I've heard of dine and DASH....
I think it’s where you pay someone to go pick up their order from a restaurant. We don’t have it where I live.
Eating out is a joke, it’s expensive and it is very poor for your health. Learn to read the weekly ads it will save family’s hundreds. 😮 Kathy Ut I make my own coffee.
Type one I have dw that but my daughter has daughter has viy go h to me one twice ,
24:08 I'm getting stressed out just hearing about all the stupid ways people are wasting their money 💰
It's horrible to pay that much for a coffee, let alone pay someone to deliver it 🤯
I shop online and then just leave the stuff in the cart 😊
I don’t drink coffee or tea
I dont drink coffee. Hubby makes his own.
1. Don’t.
Don't drink coffee
#1 Don't
