My husband passed away last November, I wasn’t completely sure what my income would be but I told myself that whatever the Lord blessed me with, I would be a good steward over the money. I’m grateful.
I made twice baked potatoes tonight, hubby said they were the best ever, only trouble is they were made with all the left over bits of food in the fridge so I can't really make them the same again. Most of our meals are made up of left overs, some bacon here, some cheese, ham, peppers etc all thrown in a omelet with a side salad. Left over rice from stir fry makes rice pudding next day, left over spaghetti sauce gets beans and is now chilli etc etc. Two slices of sourdough bread becomes french toast.
Some of my best meals will never be made exactly the same again! I aim for a "fresh cook" every other dinner and a "reconstituted meal" on the other every other days. Ive dine so for decades but my primary, original reason is i dont like to wash or scrub pots n pans. Its nice that it saves time, money, and food wastage too.
Tawra please do 2 videos. 1 where your family gets what they want at the grocery store aka what not to do video and then the follow up/ what you should do leave everyone at home and shop how you normally do. Im telling you it will go viral with the right thumbnail😊
I can read the title now "SHOCKED!! How much did they spend???"
Lots of great tips as usual. I'm gradually getting better & better at saving money with our food pantry at home! YAY! It's all thanks to your family for tips to help me! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
I stick to a list and then sometimes I see things I needed and forgot about.
I put things on the fridge (list) and decide what I need to buy when I go so I’m always waiting for the deals.
Tara, I won’t look at the sale ad on the week that I don’t shop. If I look, I’ll shop! I spend less and try to shop twice a month. I also stock up on sale things that I don’t need yet for my pantry and freezer. I shop at home in between shopping trips.
I had stuffed peppers made with shredded chicken cream cheese and cheddar cheese and they were delicious
We have dropped in at the grocery store, scanned the ad, amd wandered the aisles when we were hungry. We don't do this any more!
A popular grocery here has many things on sale either on their digital coupons.that you have to scan online for a couple hours before you go , and most items where you have to buy 5 or 10 of their items to get the lower price. I don't go there very often. It's just too stressful
Can you do a video or explain the house buying process (down payment, closing, taxes, insurance, etc.?). Also your motivations for moving to a different city and getting a new home based on your frugality.
I’m lucky enough to have several grocery stores near me. I made a template on a 1/2 sheet of paper with subtitles of the four stores with lines underneath. When the store flyers come in the mail I list the items on sale that I really need for my stockpile. Whenever I happen to be passing by the stores throughout the week I check my list. Very helpful.
I buy the Tyson Breaded Chicken Strips, and bagged frozen fries, and pair it with homemade coleslaw. About twice a year I will buy a Stouffer's frozen lasagna and pair it with a salad (maybe a salad kit, maybe not), and garlic bread (I don't buy frozen garlic bread, too easy to butter and add garlic powder and slip into the oven when the lasagna is almost cooked). I also did find a frozen box of egg rolls that I like and keep on hand when I need a meal more quickly than some other times. But, for the most part I make my own everything.
I may not stick to my list. I go twice a month - Walmart once a month, then I make a trip to Aldi and Sam's Club in the same day. I had tried the going every ten days, and it just didn't feel right to me.
You are not prideful; you are sharing how you have been a good steward with what God has blessed you with.
At Aldi this morning, they had grape tomatoes (Cherubs) on display. Right around the corner were the no-name grape tomatoes for $.50 package less. I was able to talk to the girl (young woman) who had just picked up the Cherubs, and she put them back in order to save a little money - WIN!
I like peanut butter and butter also. But I like cream cheese and jelly as a special treat.
Great video. Always learning. Thanks 🙏 so much.
Love 💕 and Hugs. 💙💙💙
I can't imagine the luxury of shopping without my kid haha. Idk what I would do with her.
I have followed you for many years and use your techniques! They work so well! Thank you for all you share! As Isaid before, I love my gluten free cookbook!!
Oh! Nice advice as always. I can't never catch a life video! I always shop every month even when I have grocery stores near me. I am loving my books. Thanks for the quality of recipes at a low price.
Check the sales tag price per ounce. Sometimes the smaller size is cheaper per ounce!
Agree with this! But, do your own math! Don’t rely on the shelf tags as I have found more times than not, the shelf tags are incorrect!!
Use list
Order online is the best way. I don’t go in but maybe once a month. If we run out of chips, cookies, etc. my kids know that they don’t get more until next week. It helped them to learn to only each 1or 2 cookies a day because theres no more when it runs out.
Iv made your bread 4 times now with gluten free flour from ADI
It’s also so soft when I put it in the tin but it works
Here in Australia qld your bread rolls are like what we call scones but they are very nice well
😊 go when limited time
Jill I found the Campbell soup cream of bacon here in Canada, was very excited. I made chicken and rice with the soup and it was delicious. Thanks for letting us know.❤️❤️. Going to try making the potato soup with it next. Have a great night
Thanks for letting me know. I have not heard too many others who have used it and it is so good and seems to add just that extra something to so many things.
What do you think of the bread machine bread maker
Plan meals based on your pantry first. Then buy what can make your pantry meals go longer. I usually end up mainly buying meat, milk, and eggs.
#replay. I'm making shredded pork and reames noodles. Hope it turns out good.
Standing in the checkout line for 25-30 minutes to save the $125.00 equals around $250.00 an hour of it was a wage!!!!!! Think people!
Peanut butter and honey sandwich....my favorite ❤
My diet mainly consists of fruits and veggies. I live alone so this isn’t a problem as far as feeding others. I never cared for meat as a child, and don’t eat anything fried. My bad habit is a sweet tooth. But I try to keep that under control the best I can.
I went to the 218 German Baptist Market in Carroll County Indiana. I got 2 lbs of bacon, two 8 Oz boxes cream cheese from Walnut Creek, 3 zucchini, 5 lbs potatoes, huge head of cabbage and one large cucumber. The total. Cost was 25. 76. I thought that was pretty good. Can't wait to make some seasond cabbage steaks .
Interesting how you said that. You "thought" that was a good deal but did you Know it was a good deal. :-). At my stores all that would be about $15.
Jill here in Australia a debit is your own money that your pay comes in your money
It’s like a credit card no interest
Great video.

I struggle to afford things, I go to a food bank and they usually give hamburger or another meat, so I will use what I got
People turn their nose up at marked down meat.....😂
Don't use a card to pay for groceries use cash better way to stay on budget. Cards make you over spend also lots of places are charging you to use cards that will add up over time
Sheesh, I have to check into that with my stores. Thanks for the info.
Jill delivery fees went up.
Don’t
Friggin coffee here is $24.99! Grant it, I saw a bag for 14.99 but 24.99? Friggin Brandon. Trump can’t come back soon enough!
Trump will personally lower prices? 😂😂😂
I get a box of 80 kcups for 19.99 my dude is the coffee drinker I switched to protein shakes in the morning so they last for a good 2 months
@@ElePranaityte yep. Coffee wasn’t $24.99 when he was in office, there never was a baby formula crisis while he was in office…the man understands basic economics. Brandon,,,notsomuch. Brandon has us in an inflation.
@@ElePranaitytegas and groceries were 25-50% lower under DJT, you have a problem with that?
@@tonia2483You can get the reusable kcups and get the ground coffee he likes. It is REALLY economical. It's just a suggestion, not being judgy. 😊
Don’t take your husband
