Memorial day is to remember those who gave their lives fighting for our freedom in this country. Veterans Day is to honor those who have served and are still alive.
And Armed Forces day are for all those who are still serving .
Exactly. Memorial Day is for "Those who gave All"
Remembering all the families who have lost loved ones while serving. May your loved ones rest in peace. Thank you for them who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
It thundered during our wedding and we have been married Fifty three years and 10 months. To us, thunder is a good sign. Us
It rained on our wedding (unusual in california 😉) and then we had a rainbow ! People told us that’s good luck . Still married 43 years
I still don’t think love fails. People fail.
Love Jill’s red and white scarf !!! Adorable ! Jill always looks SO well put together ! Love both of you gals ! Appreciate y’all so much !!! Sending y’all BIG hugs and prayers ❤
Yes, Memorial Day is for remembering those who gave their lives for our freedom.
Breakfast prices are very high. In 2017, my son and I went to breakfast. I had an omelet, he had an omelet with hash browns and we both had coffee. The bill, including the tip, was $30. Two weeks later, I found an egg pan at an estate sale for $2. Shortly thereafter, I got a waffle Iron. We have never gone out for breakfast again. Recently, I got a pancake griddle, so we have added that to the menu, although we prefer waffles.
You can plant the seeds from the fruit and veggies. Replant the potatoes, garlic etc. It depends on what the drink if it’s coke it’s coke, if it’s Pepsi it’s pepsi, Fanta could be fizzy orange or orange Fanta etc. Sprite could lemonade, sprite, 7up etc
Hello Ladies! I'm new to your channel and videos but today was grocery day and i used the sales ad for the first time and got a good deal on chicken thighs and pork chops for 1.99 and bacon too, thanks again I'm enjoying learning how to save a bit!
Ok. I'm hoping your cookbook has a good baked bread recipe. I'm searching for mine which I've not seen in 25 yrs. I stopped baking it when my fourth child arrived at my 40th year. She was the end of my bread making. Took me a year to gain strength back from her birth. Now she's 26 and I'm hoping to teach her how to bake. Now with Tawra easy baking starts another generation. Baking bread was first real big girl cooking I ever did. After Mama passed. She was 40. I think baking and feeding people saved my life.
Sandwich buns make the best croutons for stuffing.
Thank you so much for letting us know what grocery items to stock up on!!
Love it when u have long videos like this!
I always seen that your video are over 2 hours I think wow 2 hours when will I have time to watch it. Some how every time I start I seem to have the time right then and there. I'm always or it's so interesting I can't stop and watch later. 😂 ❤watching you lady's and Mike when he shows up for a few minutes. Thanks for helping everyone save some money.❤
I listen while I'm getting ready in the mornings & on my commute. I wish I could listen all at once
I'm so thankful that you and your family are ok after the dishwasher, electrical, & flooding situation. 🙏
Stopped at a produce stand in South Carolina last week and the seedless watermelons were $13.99 each. I just kept walking…
I agree.... once all of the foods are taken out that my body reacts to there are waaaay less options! Worth it though so I'm not bedridden! Thanks for the giggles ladies & lots of tips as usual! 🥰Blessings from South Australia💕🐨
This is a good time of the year to make corn cob jelly. I save my corn cobs in the freezer to make jelly in the fall when the weather cools off.
A couple of weeks ago at our Local TV Walmart they wanted 7 Dollars for a very small 🍉. No thanks. The day will never come when I need watermelon 🍉 that bad.
Last week, we had eggs on sale for 99 cents for 12 ct.
You are keeping your guardian angels from getting bored!
She is right. I buy paper plates to save on dishes and paper bowls too. Save restaurants just to meet up with friends every couple months.
Making my list to shop the meat sales after the holiday. Thanks. 🎉
Hey, girls! Just wanted to say that I'm still thrilled with my volumes 1&2 cookbooks! Best Mother's Day gifts, ever! We're all disabled here at home, so we really need ideas that are easy to do and help us keep to our modest budget. I'm so thankful for the wonderful family recipes that are delicious, easy, and frugal. You're sure not going to miss out on great food with these practical, unique cookbooks! I've been telling my mother, who is a bit of a cynic, about you and your great tips and recipes. She would always laugh and express doubt, but now she listens when I share what Jill and Tawra had to say that day! I love you guys, and I pray for you every day. Please say a prayer for us if you ever think of us here in NJ.
Oh watermelon rind reminds me of my mom canning. After she had canned all the pickles she wanted she would let the cucumbers grow huge and almost ripen. She would can these like watermelon rind! They were delicious!
I like my kitchen aid mixer. I think you will like it.
Don't let the haters by bother you Tyra do what you need to do to make your home beautiful
Thank you for this video! I love when you remind us what to buy at specific times of year. That is particularly helpful. Please keep it up!
You gals look beautiful in red . Really rockin’ it.
Winco in Tulsa has strawberries for .98 a quart right now! We bought several quarts, sliced them up, put them in a ziplock bag and in the freezer. They have a great strawberry flavor too, I mention this because some strawberries aren't that flavorful. Also, mangos and avacados are cheap too. We've been shopping at Winco more than Aldis and Sprouts in the last couple of years.
In Quebec it is pop, soda, or coke. I call it liquid sugar lol.
If your dishwasher is a whirlpool it might be the door, not the seal. We had 2 of the exact same models. The hinges fail and causes leakage around the door. It’s actually a manufacturing defect.
I wish people would just not buy things when hey are a ridiculous price so the morons that set prices would wake up and realize they have to lower their prices.
You two are nice people. Your family to
I didn't think you guys drank soda...I'm shocked!
Don't forget about the senior discounts ♡
My sister had an issue with her mortgage company not paying her property taxes and it got her in trouble with the tax authorities. So when I went to get our mortgage I told my agent about that and explained that is why I want to have mine separate. She allowed it and and then allowed it again when we refinanced a few years later.
I just got ground beef at Aldis for $1.99 a pound, eggs for $.99 a dozen, and chicken noodle and tomato soup for $.39 a can. I got 30 lbs of ground beef and 2 cases of 24ct. Of each soup! I am in Missouri.
I love your channel, watch for a new one eveyday.
We paid 20% down and did not have to set up an escrow account. Early 1990's.
If people in other countries want a hard copy of your cookbooks they can buy the electronic version, print it off, get a loose leaf binder and hole punch the printed pages.
Memorial day is for the soldiers that have died. Veterans day is for soldiers that have served. You might want to look that up.
Yes we do know that.
Truly I am so grateful for your channel and cook books, you have no idea how money we have saved on groceries and now my family loves my cooking ❤️
I remember Shopping at a garage sale with my sister and we bought so much we had to call our husbands to come and unload the car because we wanted to keep going and we were looking like the Beverly hillbillies 🤣🤣
Nightshade veggies and carrots can make fibro pain worse for me also. I love carrots and they are cheap so I was eating a lot of carrot soup which I love. My pain got increasingly worse until I researched it Also any type of shellfish can increase fibro pain .I understand about special diets. Eating is a hassle .I often say I wish we didn't have to eat to live. When I go to family gatherings, I bring my food .Loved ones want to fix something I can eat, but it is so complicated as to what you can't eat, that I tell them I wouldn't put them through that just for me.
I’m like you, nightshades and oxalates cause inflammation for me. Sally K Norton really helped me with her info on TH-cam
I gave my old kitchen aid to the town’s soup kitchen.
Wonderfully generous that you did that--thank you & God bless you!
Rotisserie chickens are $4.98 (and are 3 lbs, not 2 lbs like the grocery stores) at my Sam's Club, they are never discounted. They turn ones that are not sold into chicken salad, or they piece them out and sell 3 lbs of say leg quarters, or breasts, or wings for $3.98 ($1 savings and you get the pieces you want. So I check before I buy.
Tawara do you mean that when I come to live with you guys in the apartment, that I won't have a dishwasher?? I am so disappointed, I might have to change my plans. Lol....
God leads you to where you need to go, even with yard sales. I really believe that too.
Your advice about those three things to do everyday to help combat depression are spot on. I would add prayer and Bible devotion, but we both know a lot of folks just don't believe or are not saved, and need to come up out of that pit they are in to see the Light before they can start to turn their lives around. Most days I have no where to go...but I am up at 5 am, the bed is made before the teeth are brushed and the face is washed. Then I do feed my cats before getting dressed, then it is on to Bible study, and prayer. My cats are heathens and I want peace to do some Bible studying (lol). Then I get dressed. My "house" clothes are not my "stepping out of my house clothes" though. They are stained (there must be a hole in my lower lip because so much ends up on my shirts), and I have house shorts and going out the door shorts. And my hair is never a mess. My dishes are done every evening, unless I am making something that requires several bowls and pans to accomplish, and then they are done as soon as I am finished with them. Tea for the next day is always made, and my ice machine (a home ice machine, I ditched the ice trays) has been run to make the ice for the following day(s)).
Jill, it's nice to know someone else my age admits to parking a little further away from the closest spot to the door to leave room for the "elderly". I am not quite ready to identify as "elderly" yet, even if Tawra is.
I live in Texas! Born and raised here!
For real, Jill, I hope to look as good as you when I’m a Grandma ❤
Oh thank you Deidre. You guys are so sweet and make my day. When you are my age a compliment like that makes my day. : )
I bought chicken leg quarters today for 39 cents a pound. Stocked up. I try to buy the meats that are on sale. Large eggs are now $1.19 for a dozen here in my area of Kentucky.
As for the electric box near the dishwasher water. Almighty God saved you.
I cooked at a little soda, sandwich place, the bacon was really good. They baked to cook it, I'm on my last jar, now. It's been a couple years since I worked there. Sad I'm at the end.
Dont know about washers, dryers, but hot point used to make good refridgerators
“…The guilt was overwhelming….it didn’t stop me….” 😂🤣😂🤣😂 You are so funny, the pair of you! LOVE the channel, Tightwad Tuesdays and long chats 💜💚 plus you’re Christian and have loads of really interesting things to say things to say. Marvellous! X
I cook for 2 or a small family so I have leftovers so less cooking for a single person. Like I'll make 1 lb of pinto beans w ham and onion (the ham sliced and frozen in portions) and have soup for a few days or can freeze some for another day.
Eggs are 1.13 a dozen at Aldis. Still 5.99 to 7.99 at Vons.
My question is about the raised beds made from vinyl fence panels that you mentioned recently. Could you post photos & directions on how you built those. I have several of those panels & would like to make 2 - 4 raised beds for my yard. Just wanted to get some instructions before getting started. I've received both vol. 1 & 2 of the cookbooks - looking forward to trying them out!! Loved the grocery list & tips & quips in both books -
Here you go. th-cam.com/video/gr9DiUshPIM/w-d-xo.html
Tonic east coast years ago
I got free eggs with a coupon. I recently found out you can freeze eggs.
We used to eat out and do take out weekly. For the past couple of years now just take out weekly, eat out monthly. In summer usung the bbq, hardly take out at all! Slight increase in food bill although when stuff is discounted i buy lots so obviously will pay more!
🇨🇦Eggs 20% off for seniors are 3.43/dozen, butter 20% off is 5.03. We seldom go out b,/c the cost is rediculous, the food is no better than homecooked. It's no thrill.
Yes YA’LL COME from Texas
In my town in Quebec a rotisserie chicken is $13.
Oh my goodness!
Same here in High Prairie Alberta
@@janefeely6070 that’s outrageous!
Same here in Australia
Yikes!!!!
In Mass. its tonic
In some areas
You guys- I wonder if you should try to sell your own books on eBay? I’ve been an eBay seller for 20 years and it’s never been easier than it is now to ship international. Zero forms. You pay to ship to their warehouse in in US.. then eBay is 100% responsible for the item and the shipping out of country
I would love to buy the cookbook no.1 and the gluten free version from Germany!
What a good idea.
Wow! From Australia 🇦🇺 I have never heard of pickled watermelon rinds! As a kid we grew up growing our own veggies and fruits and my grandmother and mum canned, pickled and stewed everything but never watermelon 😮 this is fascinating 😊
Aldi's has 1.99 a lb hamburger and 3.99 for 10 lbs potatoes
I want the job of cutting up fruit and vegetables... wouldn't mind doing it for hours, while sitting down! Wow, $6 for
$6 for anything pre- cut is really strange to me & I wouldn't do it. I don't buy frozen French fries, either
I love your cookbooks. I use the onion soup mix recipe all the time.
In Georgia it is Coke.
Texas too. What flavor coke do you want?
Sorry I am late to this party, because you were incorrect - Memorial Day is to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in battle, their lives, protecting this country. Vets have Veterans Day and those still in the military have Armed Forces Day.
Aldi was more expensive this week for corn on the cob and watermelon, than Walmart. We have a Publix, Harvey's, Winn Dixie, Sav-A-Lot, Rowe's (which is IGA), Walmart, and Aldi. I did this list from most expensive to (supposedly) least. Sometimes Aldi doesn't make the cut as least expensive. But I start there, always.
I got over the pre-packaged things, like butternut squash, because it is hard - by buying a deli slicer for $50 on marketplace. I can't get through the winter squashes, and pumpkins by using this, I also use it for huge sweet potatoes so I can dehydrate, also apples, etc, so I can dehydrate them for chips too.
I know it's me promoting your books, on Facebook, every chance I get. As you know, you have your haters, who sometimes stick their noses into my posts, but I usually can shut them down easy enough.
I just purged another 10 items from my winter collection of clothing. I purged 12 about 2 weeks ago, from the summer collection. BUT...I added 16 pieces from a buy nothing group.
Yes that's correct. if we said that we just misspoke.
Coke in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi
here in nb canada we call soda pop
Also, has anyone heard of a shortage of teabags? Every store I went in today was out of teabags.
I have not Jane but I do keep a good supply of things like tea, coffee, spices, cocoa (chocolate) because these are all things that we need to import and things that can't be grown here too easily in the US. I know during all the world wars things that were imported were some of the first things that became hard to find.
Buy the Pampered Chef MANDOLIN, makes cutting fruits and veggies very easy! 😋 (shameless plug here 😂)
What do you do to watermelon rinds?
We have a recipe in the book on how to pickle them. They taste really good - like sweet pickles.
You can make preserves with them also.
I add a little clove to mine.
I love the cookbooks!!! I have volume 1 and 2!!! And, I bought my sister volume 1 for her birthday!!! She loves it!!!!!!
Thank you Emily. I am so glad you guys are enjoying them and they are working for you!
I see some of your ad prices your sale prices are way cheaper then where we live
My son is always on E I dont think he ever keeps his tank full.😮😢😮
Years ago, we had a sudden death in the family, & we had little gas in the car. My son went to the closest gas station and "coasted" into the gas station. Never again do we let gas get so low!
I am watching one of your videos talking about saving on food. Sodas are so bad for our health. So much sugar and calories. It is not good even if it is cheap because of what it does to our health. Cheap doesn't equal good value.
That is why it's a treat and not a staple.
I wonder if you would try cutting out pork from your diet to see if it makes a difference ? I knew a woman who had fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue but she also loved her pork . 'unclean' food may still affect us even as believers. Just a thought.
Mike sounds good...the past couple times there was an echo...like he was in a cave😮
❤
I would love to watch this from the heading but almost 2 1/2 hours - no.
what I do with these is watch 20 to 30 minutes then take a break and come back and watch more.
TH-cam let's you speed the video up. I usually try a couple of different speeds. My usual speed is 1.75 for today's video.
I'm listening while reading the replies! I heard half yesterday, the rest today.
No one’s business what you buy!!! You buy a lot less than I would. 😂
Can I say thyroid disease? Maybe?
Thanks, had it checked a thousand times.
Just be careful when you make jokes based on scripture. The 'love' chapter in Corinthians is one of the most beautiful in all of scripture. Proving Paul to be divinely inspired.
I wasn't reading it as a scripture (there was no reference) I was reading it from a look at the 50% divorce rate.
