    I love how calm your voice is and the soft music in the back. Great camera presence. The mix of the sweet jelly into this, I’m going to try this for sure.

    I like putting my cream cheese in a ziploc bag and putting it in a bowl of very warm water. In about 5 minutes, it is like a thick liquid. SO much easier to mix the other ingredients in. It solidifies up a little as it cools, and makes it really easy to spoon into your jalapeño halves.

    • @zbeebs
      @zbeebs 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      As long as it's already in a ziploc, could you just mix all the ingredients in the bag, cut off a corner, and then pipe them into the jalapenos?

    • @RottGutt2000
      @RottGutt2000 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@zbeebs Yes, that would work great if it was just cream cheese and jelly mixture, but I like mine mixed with a shredded cheese blend, which likes to clog the hole.

    Ry, cream cheese with cheddar or cheese of your choice sprinkled with your favorite rub works well, too. EDIT: These things disappear fast when I bring them to parties. I make them ahead and then warm them in the oven or grill at the party before serving. This also finishes crisping the bacon.

    Put these in an air fryer. Nope, it's not a healthier method, just makes your bacon perfectly crisp! Will never go back to the grill or oven again with anything wrapped in bacon. A whole new level of YUMMM

    I like to put the cream cheese in the microwave for a few seconds so it can soften up, it makes it easier to put in the jalapeño

  • @stellaartois3881
    @stellaartois3881 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I make mine somewhat the same as you do, but I put the cream cheese brick in the freezer for about a 1/2 hour, then cut it in slices small enough to fill each half, put back in freezer on a plate for about 15 minutes and then wrap them in bacon. Make sure the bacon is room temp, easier to wrap around the poppers than cold bacon. I cook them at 325 for 30 minutes. I put a cooling rack over a cookie sheet pan so they don't lie in the fat and get real greasy. It works well.

    Looks good Ry, these are a staple in my house, I smoke them in the summer and do them in the oven in the Winter. Lots of different ways I make them, usually with cream cheese and cheddar with some of my favorite rub mixed in topped with a little crab meat or pheasant meat. I use the cheapest bacon I can find because it cooks faster but I have never tried them with jelly. I have some mango habanero jelly that I will have to try your way. Now I am hungry for some poppers. Thanks Ry.

    I made them like this until I realized cleaning them out meant you were removing all the heat. Now I take just enough out on either side of the center and pack the voids with cream cheese keeping as many seeds and innards as possible, wrap with bacon, sprinkle with paprika. If you like the heat, they are delicious this way.

    I used this video to make 24 poppers for my church potluck last Sunday. The first 24 people in line got a popper and no one else. The most time consuming/labor intensive part was prepping the jalapeños (duh). I would encourage anyone trying this to make a little more cheese mixture than necessary so you don't have to conserve on the last one or two. Great recipe!

    When I made these, I just couldn’t get them to the crispness I would like and it took forever for the peppers to cook. I may have oven issues!😩 Anyway, my second try, I softened the jalapeños in the microwave before filling and used that precooked bacon you can buy in the store. Took no time to cook, like 8 minutes.

    edit: omg I just finished mine and they came out amazing. The best tip here was using the rack. It really crisped up the bacon all around, even the bottom. I used straight up cream cheese but I am going to try that peppered jelly next time. Again thank you for the tips, it really helped me get them perfect.
    My own tip I would add, is that I used whipped cream cheese. It was already ready to spread and did not have to thaw out or anything.

      Par cook the bacon in the oven or skillet for a few minutes & just make sure its still pliable to wrap! i do this anyways thick or not that way it saves on cooking time & it dont cremate the cheese, pepper before the bacon is done👍
