- Jalapeño Poppers are called Jalapeño Poppers for some reason. Nobody knows why. I think some bar decided to use the word poppers to make them sound cool, but it doesn't make them sound cool at all. They should just be called Cream Cheese Filled Jalapeños That Might Be Wrapped in Bacon or Not Depending on the Kind and Also Maybe Deep Fried but Not Necessarily.

As a contact lens wearer, I always use Nitrile gloves when cutting & deseeding jalapeños. I learned the hard way. Even hours later & washing hands a lot, can stop burn my eyes, so gloves are a must for me.

There's no heat in the seeds. They are just covered in the oil from the membrane they are attached to. You can rinse them and then eat one and get zero heat.

Man I make these three or four times a month, and they're amazing. I do offer one extra step if you'd like though. After you've bacon wrapped them, roll them in Shake n Bake. Gives a really nice extra crispy to them
