New Motorcraft FL2052S oil filter Review

The good old Ford Motorcraft oil filter does not disappoint in it's construction, built the way all filters should be built across the board. I wish this much care was taken with there light truck and car line of filters.

Motorcraft filters are premium filters imo. That bypass on the top is the best design. Prevents oil mixing with the debris in thr pleats if it goes into bypass. Thr holes in the tube are good but the nylon tube on champ labs provides the best flow.

I like the e core design tubes also. The Ford filters look like a decent filter.

Wow, of course they clean up their act after I already ordered 3 Mobil 1 filters on rock auto a day ago. I was going to buy a bunch of Motorcraft filters but didn’t because of the previous glue issues.

the media looks like the new Fram ultra, dual layers, I found a kitten with an eye infection too, and I bought some Terramycin Antibiotic Ointment for the eye from Amazon and it worked well.

Thanks Bud, that eye ointment is exactly what we are using. It seems to be getting better already. And that oil filter was a surprise to me to be built that good.

Looks good Bill... That filter has actually been superseded by the fl2124 to extend the oil change cycle... My guess is that they lowered the micron rating in the newer one so that it's not as efficient to keep it flowing over an extended period of time... (Lessened the quality)
