I purchased my Element about the same time like 4 months ago. So far I had to rebuild the motor and other things, but hey no complaints, now I got an Element that look and runs like new basically. I really love this car. Greetings from Costa Rica.
Got mine off of FB marketplace last year - first three mods right away... 1. replaced that part on the door that holds it open when you open it, 2. All interior bulbs swapped for LEDs, and 3. Replaced struts on the back hatch so I can stand under it when it's open. (oh, yeah, also covered the steering wheel because it was slippery. Camped in it for the first time this summer, and window covering is a must. Also, I love how you setup the moon roof - going to have to try that. Thanks, and happy Elementing or Elephanting...
Honda Element Owners forum is awesome. I have fixed stuff with the forum’s help. Love my orange 04’ Element. Cheers from Chicago Edit; your tailgate mod is awesome!
Lots of info on the forum! Whew Chicago..I lived about an hour south of Kenosha Wisconsin for two winters a couple years ago, that lake effect does serious work ahaha Thanks for the comment!
Short but still a good looking dude. Been interested in getting an element myself. Just a lot of stuff I need to work on so it’s been difficult for me to know what to start working towards.
I inherited my dad's Ellie after he passed away in 2018. Love Ellie so much. Ellie is 04' and is the same color as yours. I will never give her up. I hope to turn my into a camper. I have a friend who hates my car so much and wants me to get rid of it. Every time, she sees me and she nags about my car. She likes to Infantilizing me.
To turn off maintenance light turn car on don't start engine hold button down on the speedometer till starts blinking and then hold it in again till it goes away i believe
The maintenance required light is just a reminder for oil change. It has absolutely nothing to do with engine codes or faults. It's very easy to reset once you learn how.
I’ve had mine for about 7 yrs I think. Love it. There videos on here on how to get that maintenance light to go off. I think it’s about oil changes but you have to manually do some stuff with the key and buttons to get it to go away. I also had to replace my actuator. It was a PAIN. I also inline skate and was thinking about building a ledge for the tailgate because I make bad decisions.
Lol, nobody says the element gets good gas mileage. I'm not sure where you heard that. And just because you changed the oil the car doesn't know you change the oil. You have to reset that light yourself manually.

You’ll enjoy driving it everyday, start somewhere! It’s a great buy!
I'm an old man, love your life style and Element, keep it up and have fun Dante!
I've had the same opinion of the gas mileage. Slow acceleration helps, but comparing it to my VW Rabbit, it's a world of difference.
Same. I appreciate the mobility of my other car so much more!

@@MontanaKat1912 wow what a great and unique car to remember your dad by!

The maintenance required just indicates that an oil change is due. The Post is on the other side of the mileage reset button. TH-cam videos show how.
Great video my guy. We love our 04 Ex has been one of the most practical cars ive owned.
@@ReadySetElement man seriously! Hope to catch you out there one day, yours is super clean bro

Are you in Strava? I do freeskating, also have an E 😅. Live in Arkansa the natural State, bunch of places where to camp around here.
@@ovatsugtx skating + an Element 🫡😎
I have Strava, mostly to track how much I run my dog
Might need a tune up
if you wanna see improvement on gas mileage do a valve adjustment..I saw a big difference in performance and gas mileage..good luck 👍
Something to look into thank you

@@johnkesling man yeah that actuator was workkk! I striped all three screws holding that thing in and had to drill them all out.
