    Just won the Ledge Prime in a raffle! At my current income, it’s something I would probably never buy myself, but I was a pro chef for 20 years and love to grill/smoke/cook. Looks like smoked turkey this year bud. Pretty close to peeing my pants with excitement. Been drooling over GMGs for a long time, as there’s a dealer 1/2 mile away. WiFi cooking. I’m in the future.

    I just put mine together. I work as a handyman and assemble a lot of flat pack stuff. I absolutely love all the materials included. A proper wrench and customer service number on the tape really shows you care. An amazing grill at an amazing price.

    On Jim Bowie prime plus unit-
    Let's say I had the unit at 400⁰, do I need to gradually step down the temp to 150⁰ before shutting down like older models OR can I just shut it down?

      Just press the red button and it guess into fan mode. Or press off on the app.

    I LOVE my GMG DB Prime WiFi. I just wish it fired up consistently. I’ve had a lot of issues from day 1. Tech support has been wonderful to troubleshoot in the moment, but issues reoccur.

      Hi Karen! I have a new GMG Daniel Boone that has been great ,but has had issues as well. Specifically, every time lately I’ve had it turn itself off/ lose power. I power it back on and it continues without problem. Disappointing, YES.! But Johnny from GMG called me with some tips on potential solutions. What have you experienced? Thx, Charlie

      CB Cardish I’m glad u got some good tips to help resolve. When I first got it, i was getting heavy soot on food, but once tech helped me update firmware, that resolved. I have a hard time using app, especially with connectivity. Sometimes, the auger dumps too many pellets that smothers ignitor and it just eon’t fire up until I empty the box. Part of the wifi issue is my server/lack of strength. I’m in the process of trying to boost it so it’s strong enough -like all my neighbors.

    Just bought our GMG Jim Bowie Prime a week ago. We've had good experiences, for the most part. Good, solid and easy to use product. However, to GRILL you absolutely need a grill grate. No direct flame requires this if you want any char on standard grilling items. Burgers. Chicken. Etc. We gave Traeger a very long, hard look. OUR opinion is that this is 80% of a Traeger at half the price. Thats not a slight, just our perception. The one area where Traeger does eat the GMG's lunch is the app/media experience. The app and available programs for the GMG are amazingly dated and lacking. That said, we are enjoying our Jim Bowie very much.

    • @Kroder
      @Kroder 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Out of curiosity, the app is lacking in what way?

    • @EddyWerckx
      @EddyWerckx 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Functionality. UI. Media. Recipes... download the Traeger app and the GMG app. See for yourself. I’m happy with the grill (for the most part). The app; meh

    • @Kroder
      @Kroder 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@EddyWerckx I've had the app for 5 years, it has recipes, profiles, grill control and settings etc. I don't know what mean by media, why would you need media in a smoker control app?

    • @leroybgreen

      Where did you get a grate

    • @northerngm6431
      @northerngm6431 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Kroder I completely agree, if I want recipes or other media, etc, there's Google, I don't want my smoker app clutered up with stuff I'll never use, temperature and time is all you need, and as far as Grill Grates, they are way overrated, you can get a great sear just by turning your GMG to 550 degrees.

    Ok my grill came assembled. I didn’t see this video until after. I ended up just adding the little bag of pellets in the hopper.. nothing happened when I turned it on. Do I need to clean all the pellets out and start over?

    • @GMGrills
      @GMGrills  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No need to clean the pellets out, but you will need to fill the hopper up with pellets. Then you will need to run the grill through the start up process (0-1-2-3) and turn it off. Then run it through the start up one more time and just let it go!

    Do I need to have the lid open or closed when turning on and off the grill?

    • @GMGrills
      @GMGrills  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can always leave it closed. Some people will open a bit when starting it up for a quicker start up but it is not necessary.

    What's a value for something that doesn't work out of the box? I paid $1,000 and it will not heat the ignitor. How do they ship a $1,000 grill without any quality control? I hope I can return this, louisiana 1100 worked when I got rid of it to make room for the Jim bowie that I wanted due to wifi, now I wish I would've known better.

    I just bought the Daniel Boone first thing it is made in China second you have to tear the box apart to find out how to get grill out of the box third not very good instructions how you assemble the unit how about print some instructions on the outside box so one knows how to get it out

    • @pdalebeef
      @pdalebeef 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I found it ingenious the way the box could be used to assemble the grill by one person. By watching a video first.

    Interesting that they name their grills after American icons like Daniel Boone and Jim Bowie. Especially since they’re made in China.

    These grills are junk! Do yourself a favor and read some reviews before purchasing a GMG, I bought one less than 4 months ago and all the paint is flaking off! Obviously this company has dealt with this before because they offered me a can of spray paint and some GMG accessories. They actually asked me to sand it down and repaint a grill that was over $500. Read the warranty carefully they do not cover the exterior...
