Thankyou. Sir kindly make a video of treating planted discus tanks with potassium permanganate, and tell us the proper dosage of PP which will not damage the boilogical filters🙏
So according to the video footage..for 100 gallon = 1 gram of Potassium permanganate. For 150 gallon = 1.5 grams. For 50 gallons = 0.5 grams. And if we canister filter and not sump, then directly in the tank?. And how much hydrogen peroxide per 100 gallons of water. Your footage is always reliable and compact with knowledge based information. Thank you sir.
@@rmmc5554 That's not the issue. One gram per 100 gallons equals .75 grams for 75 gallons. The issue is Permanganate kills everything including your nitrifying bacteria. Commercial guys can use the stuff because they do MASSIVE water changes CONSTANTLY.
For home hobbyists, you can just use hydrogen peroxide. It is an oxidizer like PP but a bit safer and doesn't stain. I dose 5ml/10 gallons. You can kill fish if you dose too much.
Hello everyone! Hope someone can help. I have a 90 liter aquarium with discus fry. Hello Gabe. I know I'm coming in late. You said each week but for how .any weeks? I'll check the other questions to see if my question has been answered.
hello friend, for a 100-liter aquarium, what is the dosage of potassium permanganate, and what is the dosage of hydrogen peroxide, after the water turns brown, uses hydrogen peroxide to remove the brown color, after that it is necessary to make a partial change of Water? or is not presiso? I can pour the permanganate directly into the aquarium, or dilute first, since I don't have a sump, I can do it in the community aquarium with plants, botia palhaço, coridoras etc ... thank you very much and good work
What is the dosage calculator? Do you have any quantities for smaller tanks? Also do I need to remove any media from the external filtration or will it treat everything? I’ve got the fry in a 65 L aquarium, but over the last five days I’ve lost around 50 fry. I have potassium per magnate, but cannot find any dosage quantities.
Hi Gabe, at min 2:40, you say if you do it at home, the formula changes completely. Could you elaborate on that, how to modify the 2g per 200G formula to suit a 100G tank at home?
Can you please explain if the beneficial bacteria that is in the sump also gets killed? Do you need to worry about cycling the tank again to prevent ammonia spike?
Such treatments do not work in established tanks, because it will oxidize and kill all organic stuff and waste between plants, rocks, substrate, bacteria in your filter, dead plant leafs,........ Therefore you can not calculate a ppm solution to dose in an established tank, you can only treat with this method in bare tanks
Hola Gabriel, por favor realiza este video en español, es muy importante aprender este tratamiento para la comunidad disquera de habla hispana, muchas gracias.
Pp powder is super highly concentrated. Can understand the unit of measurement used as they are likely of 99% concentrate. But h2o2? I have seen 12%, 3% concentrations. For an example of 5ml/10 gal, what kind of concentration are we looking at? 3%? 1%? Or 20% as they make alot of difference and h2o2 can burn skins if not handled well or at high concentration.

How often should I repeat this process and for how long? Please guide.
