Man your really into it. I'm just trying to get to below 100 in the am. Historically my highest is when I wake up.
Me too. High in the am reading.
Highest mornings glucose is dawn phenomenon, because of cortisol production to make us wake up. But after some time (weeks, a month or 3-4 months later) your fasting morning glucose will be less 100. In his video (dawn phenomenon) Dennis explains high morning fasting glucose due to fatty liver, it is his hypothesis not something 100% proven.
Mine were until I started taking 1 TB of apple cider vinegar in a class of water in the morning before breakfast and at night before bed. It's usually around 100 in the morning now.
I just want to say Thank You Dennis, After watching your channel I've have totally reversed my type 2 diabetes, My glucose was around 300, my A1C was at 10.3 , After 3 months of low carb high protein I've lost 30 pounds, My glucose is now at 100 - 110 & my A1c is down to 5.3, My aim now is to get to 4.5!!!
Knowledge is power 👍
That's fantastic! Congrats!
Wow! Congratulations! Keep up the great work🎉.
no rice?
Mine is over 400 or 13??for A1C What ever they call it. I dont any medication. I have very bad nephropathy too. I wonder how long it would take me to get it down.
I am British born Nigerian and I have adopted Dennis coconut and fufu, I have exponentially increased my portion when I eat African soup and fufu with not a single spike, max is 6.4 mmol/L UK (US 136 mg/dl. Dennis inspired me last year to wage a brutal war against diabetes that forced it into remission, thanks Dennis.
@@jessienartey467 So true. That is actually my preference.
Cauliflower or the aubergine eggplant.

Benedicta should make a cookbook of her soups❤
Very encouraging Dennis. Thank you for the continued support.
May God continue to keep you and give you wisdom in the name of yeshua . I’m 42 was diagnosed with diabetes 2 years ago and refused to take medication because faith with out works is Dead . So I have some work to do and your wisdom and videos are encouraging. Shalom
Thankyou so much Dennis for your dedicated support to us who walk the sugar issues ways...
I have learned how to eat healthy and the Hba1c has dropped steadily from 10 in Feb '21 to 7 ....3 months ago and now 6.8 this time 3 months later...
It's been about 8 months now of proper low carb eating.....
I had been praying....Jesus answered through ....
both the doctors treating me and finally your channel.....
3 months ago after the last Hba1c... my doctor encouraged me to continue the diet I was following...
So grateful to God for all of you ...
Love to Ben.
That is so great! Happy for you, Cheryl!
I just found your channel & I can't thank you enough for your honesty & inspiration. I am battling numbers in the 300's daily & sometimes at night no matter what I do. Your meal suggestions are so helpful. I look forward to modifying my daily meals by adding these foods & hopefully I will see my numbers decline.
Cabbage soup with chicken or sausage for taste. Onions green peppers. No pasta or potatoes put some ginger in
Thank you for your support. I am a type two diabetic and I refused to take the meta-Forman so I’m trying to do it on the foods you helped out a lot.
I like this video very much, but there is big news out there. WHAT IN THE WORLD HAPPENED TO OUR MILITARY???? I just got the My Health Vet newsletter on line. They were tell us vets how to eat low carb for Thanksgiving. WHAT???? I almost fell off my computer chair and hurt myself. They explained that you could have a wonderful meal at Thanksgiving and keep it low carb. LOW CARB??? That, my friends is new news. The Vets are going low carb? WOW, WOW, WOW. What a change. So they said the ham and turkey are fine. Skip the dressin, make mashed cauliflower instead of potatoes, green beens are fine, salad is fine with vinegar and oil dressing, and they said further low carb recipes will follow. Somebody, some doctor somewhere must have gotten to the Veterans Administration and shaken things up. The Vets go low carb. I'm in shock.
What wonderful News.
Holy Smokes! That is huge news! I’ll bet someone crunched some numbers and calculated what it’s going to cost to have all our vets on insulin, all the surgeries, all the disability. You’re not going to have career military if they’re all metabolically sick, right? Thank you for your service. . .heartfelt.
Yay!!!! That has to be shared!!
Wow! That is fantastic! Could you forward the newsletter, or a link to the newsletter to me?
I wasn't aware of that, thanks for that "new news." The reason quite possibly is the military cannot fill its all-volunteer forces with new recruits because they're mostly very metabolically unhealthy. Wonder why? Remember those terrible food guidelines apply to the military, too.
My labs from last week showed I was "normal" so thank you for all you do, Dennis and Benedicta.
I am not only out of diabetic range but out of the prediabetic range finally.
I am so grateful for Mike the Meter because it showed me what was happening inside.
I am going to continue to follow your advice.

Wonderful!
Keep that way the rest of your life
Ich verstehe leider English nicht so gut und komme aus Deutschland. Könnten Sie mir sagen, was ich zum Frühstück essen kann und wie man anfängt, was sind die typischen Nahrungsmittel. Vielen lieben Dank.
Hi Dennis, last April I went into the hospital with kidney stones, which I have often, after bloodwork I had an A1C of 12.7 with bgl in the 300’s. I needed a nap everyday before being hospitalized. I am a53 yr old woman. 5 days later I left the hospital with a bag full of medication, and felt defeated. With Jesus as my guide I gave up all sugar and did a strict Keto diet. I was taking Jardiance, lisinolpril for bp, lipitor for cholesterol, langue long acting insulin, and humulin fast acting insulin on a sliding scale. In 2 months I was off bp meds, and got rid of cholesterol meds because they caused painful leg cramps. 2 months later my A1C dropped to 6.3. I also hardly ever needed to use the humulin because my bgl were never over 141, which was my start number on sliding scale. 4 months later I was taken off the lantus insulin and changed my Jardiance dosage to a higher mg. Next month I get another A1C done. I have watched many of your videos and feel encouraged that I will not need the meds at all, if I stay on a good intermittent fasting and good meal choices. Thank you for helping us achieve healthy life choices.
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing your story!
How are you doing now, Ma'am?
You can do anything through Christ who strengthens you 😉 In Jesus Name. Amen 🙏🏾

Dennis,
Thank you for all your help. Your channel was inspiring when after a life insurance exam my A1C was a 9. Because of your videos, I have found out how my body reacts to carbs/sugar. My A1C has gone down to 5.9 in 3 months. Your be diabetic free by Christmas message really resonated with me. I thank you for your videos and all you do for the community that now I am a part off.
That's great, Manuel. I look forward to hearing more good reports from you!
"it's not a game" thank you D for saying that🥰; so many folks think it is, just as soon as they reach the weight goal they go right bay to unhealthy habits. Thanks for your passion to serving the community. Blessings 🙏🇺🇲
So true! We are all unique and so are our challenges and needs. I certainly agree that it's not a game but I definitely appreciate the ongoing information, encouragement, and support. This channel helps inspire and empower others to make the choice and the changes necessary to live a better quality of life. Thank you Bro. Dennis!😊🙏 ❤
My husband is still in denial, type 2 diabetes, im having a hard time giving him a low carb meals, getting always mad at me when i gave him half cup of rice coz he will not he full of it, im giving him 1/2 cup rice, 1 palm of meats, 2 pc of eggs & veggies but he still wanted to have 1-1/2 cups of rice. Im so disappointed with our situation.
Big hug !! Hang in there !!
I tried the carnivore diet for a while, usually less than 2 grams of carb a day. However, switched to keto because it was too restrictive. Now I try to keep my carbs below 30 grams/day. Nice thing about both keto and carnivore is that putting yourself in ketosis stems the appetite, decreases carbohydrate craving, and keeps the glucose post meal peaks way down.
You are so honest and open i get all your excellent words.
I never get tirerd to learn what you say.
Thank you so much.

the 90s I joined a diet club, one idea they had was take a yellow turnip, wrap it in paper towel and microwave til soft (depending on size), wipe the turnip off and mash, serve with cinnamon, sweetener etc. You have wonderful ideas and you are changing around a lot of people's health for the better.
Alternatively, you can have cabbage fufu by blending cabbage the liquid squeezed out and adding helium husk as binder then stir on the fire till cooked. You can do same with blended spinach . Spinach fufu. Thanks for great encouragement

@@beatdiabetes3 you have common sense. i listen to others with a doctor's background who explain things that are so clinical and not understandable.... Dennis, i want to visit your ministry website as well.
Another good one. Love the repetition. Helps me so much.
Very nice video. You had 3 very nice meals. Here's what I noticed: You do not overeat. You walk away from your meals feeling satisfied but not stuffed. I love that you have a treat time once per week separate from your supper. Your dessert was healthy but still should not be eaten daily. Great job!
I like that you specify a 6 hr eating window. Anyone who thinks that's too hard, first go to an 8 hr window, then reduce to 7 hours. Very doable.

Those of us that are long term type 2 folks or came from a type one family also need to be aware of gastroparysis. I was so excited to be in the 100 range 1 hour after a meal. Then I got my continuous meter. It told me I was high. I’d set “high” at 150. Sure enough I was peaking at 3 hours. Good thing I did more testing than the doctor wanted me to - I would never had known I was actually going higher than I wanted with my meals.
Oh cool I check alot. I apparently don’t have that because I am back to or close to normal after 3 hours. I definitely coming down big time after 2 hours. Thanks for the info.
That's true. I suspect I might have this. I still feel full 3-4 hours after a filling meal where my husband got over that full feeling in 1.5 hrs. I have been trying to do some running/walking in place exercises & ACV to encourage digestion and I feel it helped just a little bit. I have to say that I don't do that all the time.
Lot of people including me will argue whether I was ever a diabetic. No one will argue that my wife was a diabetic or not because she was formally diabetic for 14+ years.
Both of us eat now mainly raw vegetables with small amount of dairy and have been maintaining ~5% a1c couple of years now.
That’s awesome congratulations can you tell me what else you ate that made your BS that low
Please share Benedictine's soup recipe! Sounds awesome.
This video surely will help me plan my diet. Thanks! You've helped me get some low morning readings at 95 lately (from 128 to 95!)
Love you Dennis, thanks for your work! I have added some of your recipes and, along with just plain old avpoiding carbs as much as possible, I am so much improved over the last 2 weeks or so. And my belly is shrinking and am pink to dark pink on the keto stix. All of this with no suffering, I feel like I am eating very well, and getting very full. After a pancake and sausage breakfast (per your recipes) this morning, I did not even eat again until supper, I just was not hungry at all, My wife offered me (low carb) lunch but I just wasn't hungry whatsoever. So I skipped until supper. Depending on the meals, my 1 hr 15 min post meal raeadings have been either unchanged, down 10 or more points, or worst case up 25 points. (like tonights supper where I allowed 1/2 of a very small sweet potato)- 94 before supper, 115 one hour 15 mins later. That is my worse in several days, and still not too shabby, IMHO! WoooooBuddy! 😀
Wonderful!
Please if possible I would love those recipes of the fufu and pancake. I know your busy but if you have chance I would love to hear how you make them.
I'm a Christian and love your channel. Thank you Sir for trying to help us all. Tell your wife hello and may God bless you both

If I remember correctly, he has some videos with recipes, I do recall him talking about them. I know he has lots of videos, it may take awhile to find them. Dennis and Benidicta are such a blessing.
Yes, they have videos on pancakes and his wife has a channel with a video on the Soup, simply search on the name of the channel and pancakes or look in the description or search the what I eat in a day videos and their descriptions. Good luck 🍀
There is a link to the pancake video and recipe in the description of this video. I am hoping to make a soup and fufu video with Ben in the next week or two.
Good video. Thank you. Most times, we make soup with just the protein, water and the right seasoning. No thickener and you do not have to put oil. We call that Pepper Soup.
You can use it to eat your fufu.
God bless you for all you do.
I have not got sick since I’ve been controlling my sugar.
Most of my family tends towards poor glucose metabolism, as evidenced by prevalent diabetes. Just before my 40s started, I chose to divert myself from that path and avoid falling into drug controlled hyperglycemia. I first began removing sugar, and that had its own challenges. Then bread. Then lower carb foods general. That progressed to a nutritional ketogenic lifestyle, dotted with many months of carnivore switched with many months of vegetable variety. Not once was I bored with foods, not once did I feel deprived. Throughout this process I had to teach myself how to prepare meals and then later on found it most enjoyable. Then my family joined me as they saw success and happiness. My hA1C is 4.6, and all my other biomarkers are the best they have been. It's definitely a choice to do this and to consciously choose to not be a burden on the medical system and on my immediate family. But most importantly, this is for me, so I can be present at my best, to enjoy life and all the wonderful experiences... big or small. I encourage everyone to look at the choices and pick a path. Both have a cost, as nothing is free in life. But for me, eating better foods that work with my body are much less of a cost versus medications.
You are such a blessing to your family. May god continue to bless your health ALWAYS ❤
THANK you Dennis and Dominic for sharing this diabetic FuFu blessing and more blessings to you both
Hi I’ve watched many of your videos and think your doing a good job of getting this info out to people.
But I wanted to share with you some insight.
I was monitoring my glucose with a meter for several months actually designing combinations of foods to keep my glucose levels low overall.
One of the things I tried was dark (85% Cacao) chocolate.
What a great moment it was when I tested after 1 hr and found my glucose was 85!
I thought what a great thing I can eat chocolate for dessert!
What I realized after taking further measurements hours later and seeing a rise in my glucose was the reason I was initially getting a low number was I was having a massive insulin response which pushed the meter number down but soon after it rose for a few hours into the 130’s.
Unfortunately, we still can’t measure insulin at home but be aware a good number after eating doesn’t always equate to a small insulin response.
Check multiple hours after to see what your response curve is.
Keep up the good work!
130 isn’t high. Whatever you ate caused slow insulin release, which is what you want. You don’t want a high spike right after eating. Also, meal size matters too even though you think it’s low glycemic.
Breakfast coconut flour pancake with strawberries and whipped cream, 2 sausages
Lunch low carb soup and coconut flour psyllium husk and flax fufu, low carb cookie
Supper salad low carb dressing, boiled egg, strawberry mug cake with whipped cream
In Ghana our fufu is made with cooked unripened plantain and cassava, pounded and mixed together in a mortar with a pestle. It's really good especially with peanut butter soup. The fufu is quite high carb but it can be fine in small portions, just add a lot of soup and meat
Very interesting. Do you cook it in the soup or by itself?
I really enjoyed this video,Dennis. In the beginning, you said something,"I have the tendendency towards diabetes(or something close to that".)Which tells me that diabetes isn"t alwat"s a "lifestyle" issue.I"ve been eating,"One meal a day" for over 3 years now.Low carb meals,I"m really seldom even hungry at all anymore. My blood sugar readings are still higher than I"d like.I"m the only one in my family who isn"t diabetic but my a1c still is between 5.8 & 6.1,not very encouraging. But if I"d hadn"t have found your channel and read 2 of your books,I know I"d be full blown diabetic,so thank you.I"m 5,9-170.Not the skinniest but not obese either. Not where I"d really like to be but have seen enough progress to keep plugging away!
Been following you since 02-02-2022... Thanks for your dedication to OUR health! Stopped Metformin which did nothing to lower my A1c to current 5.3!

Dennis, I always hear you talk about bulletproof coffee but are there options for a drink like this for those of us who don't drink coffee? Would love to see you do a video or segment on a recipe for a drink with the benefits of bulletproof coffee but that doesn't contain coffee. Thanks for all you do.
Bullet Proof Tea ?
Look up Fatty Latte recipes. They involve an egg and no coffee.
Thanks so much, worthy in law.We love you.Lets know when you're in Nigeria
High fiber first, at least 6-7 minutes of cauliflower or cabbage or something like that - then protein and finally carbohydrates with vinegar pills or a cup of water with a tablespoon of vinegar like wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar with a STRAW to avoid injury to the teeth. Resistant starch can also be better than pure starch, there are videos on how to make this. That would be what I think works with at least 14 hours of fasting 4-5 days in a week.
We definitely need to see more food recipes! You can talk to us about lowering our glucose all day long but if we don’t know what to eat, it’s not gonna help. Ha ha.
You're right about that.
@@beatdiabetes3 I only have things in my kitchen now that I can eat, but I still stare at the fridge and think "What can I have?" Roast chicken and green beens will only get you so far. Never took them.
Hi Dennis and Benedicta, another great and informative video. I don’t know how you guys keep generating all your videos!!! I’m a little confused with the advice I’m getting from a clinical pharmacist thru my Medicare provider. They told me I was not eating enough carbs each meal. I usually eat 1-10 carbs each meal, and never complain about any of my meals. Thanks mostly from you guys guidance. The advice was for me to eat 30-60 carbs every meal!!!! Makes absolutely no sense to me. If I follow their advice I’m afraid I’d be back in the 200-300’s. I’ve been averaging 90-120 everyday. I need to have minor surgery soon, but not until my A1C is less than 6 according to the surgeon.
Isn't it crazy? Seems like they want to keep us sick. It doesn't take much research to stay current on the science of nutrition around metabolic health. They just chose not to do the research or keep their head in the sand.
I got down to 92 mg/dl a few days ago and think this is a practical low workable extreme limit I can, for the most part, get under 100 I did notice it though started to show hypo-type effects lightheadedness and mild shaking with strong food cravings. so I'm thinking the 95-99 bracket is an ideal targeting number range...hard work though isn't it... but it's worth it I feel. as now in the prediabetic range 5.6 h1ac and want to keep it that way...
the hypo effects are relative to the BGs you're used to. Once I was diabetic. After keeping blood sugars down (and being totally off meds) for a few weeks I was having lows in the 70s while feeing completely normal. :)
I have been watching your channel for some time now. However, for the last 2 weeks, I have been really implementing your advice. The last time I had my A1C checked it was 10.3. YIKES! I also started to use the Keto diet. I have bullet proof Coffee in the morning. I eat a Salad for Lunch with lots of Veggies (No Croutons and Light Ranch Dressing). And I have 1 serving of the meat of my choice, with 2 servings of Non-Starchy Vegetables for Dinner. I test my Blood Sugar 2 hours after I eat, which is my peak, and it is no longer in the 300's! I'm almost positive, the next time I have my A1C checked, it will be lower than 10.3. One more thing LOL! I also pray before each meal and I pray that God will allow my medication to work, before I take it.
Sounds like a fantastic plan! I am eager to hear a great report from you!
@@beatdiabetes3 Thank you! I will definitely keep you updated. God bless you, and your wife!
Thank you Dennis! I appreciate all the help/knowledge you share with us, I was diagnosed as type 2 diabetic in beginning of May, with A1c of 11.5! In August, A1c was 5.9, September it was 5.1! Congrats on keeping below 100. For me that would be near impossible. After eating if I am in the 120's I am good with that. Like you going over 140 is a big no no. Would love you Fufu recipe. It kind of sounds like a matzo ball. Just saying. You are doing well and you help many people. God Bless you and your dear wife Benedicta.
A sensible channel.
This fu-fu sounds like my muffins. 1 cup of each: almond flour, coconut flour, oatmeal four, some oat bran ( but I usually use 2 cups of almond flour and 2 cups oat bran). No wheat flour. 3-4 eggs, couple tbls of olive oil, some salt, erythritol, cinnamon and little baking soda. Mix in 1 cup of unsweetened apple or pumpkin sauce, some diced pecans, walnuts or almonds with some berries on top or anything you’d like. Bake it for 30mins at 350 and you’ll love it. I usually make double batches and keep it in the freezer. 30 sec in microwave or just take some out the day before. I’ve been making these for years because my family loves them. You can add some bananas or raisins for little more sweetness. This recipe is so universal. You can’t go wrong with it. Sometimes I’ll use spelt flour or buckwheat flour instead of coconut flour. Oh, almost forgot I also add some flaxseed meal. These are so perfect with morning coffee. Sometimes I’ll crunch it and put it on the bottom of our fruit (berries) bowls with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon and wheat bran on top. Delish. Maybe Benedicta can make it for you guys some day. Thanks for your video. Very helpful as always.
Thank you so much brother! Very encouraging.
God bless you sir. Pls don’t stop 🙏
How about some soup receipes that we can make?
Thank you Dennis for the reminder and encouragement.
Thank you for the encouraging videos! It is much appreciated. God bless you❤
Your right Dennis a friend of mine had real high numbers of 600 & 700 blood sugar soon he died so high numbers do kill . Thanks so much for your wonderful help to keep us healthy ❤️❤️
Thank you Dennis, for these wonderful videos. By following your advice I brought my A1C down from 8.8 to 6.2. My A1C has never gone as low as yours but maybe someday I'll get there. At least for now I'm on the right track thanks to you.
Wonderful! Well done!
Never heard of foo Foo, but now we need your low carb recipe. I can't wait until I can keep my numbers under 100. Thanks Dennis
Foo Foo is good.
I’d try FooFoo
I’m sick of chaffles
Please do a demonstration for future.
Would like to try it!
Good Morning Dennis! But Under '100'??? Even my 'fasting' glucose, is usually not even that low!?
Do what he says. Two meals within 6 hours. Less that 20 TOTAL CARBS. No snacking. It works. 3 months ago rarely under 100. Frequently 120s and 130s. This morning at 7:00, I was 88! I still go over 100 everyday but I no longer live there.
The lowest my fasting has only been like 109 so far I’m trying to get it done lower
Brother Dennis could you do a video on making food Foo I like to try it seems like it would be a great substitute for bread
Plan to in the next few weeks.
I really didnt know oats is bad for diabetics - in fact i thought it is the healthiest food And have been having it every single day ... I guess I will avoid it hereafter ... Thank you Dennis
As always Dennis, a great informative video. Thanks for sharing your great ideas with us all. Stay well.
Wonderful food ideas! Thanks for posting
I was so interested in the foo foo that I went on you tube and watched some African women make it. It's quite an art!
Instead of oatmeal you can also buy and use oat bran. Almost all fiber. Same oat meal taste. Much less carbs.
Can you tell me who is it made by ?
Nearly 70! you look great Pastor :)
Thanks!
Excellent info. Still waiting on that soup and foo foo video
You are a treasure. Thank you for all you do for your fellow man. God bless you.
Foo foo and Soup. Bring it on! Thanks Dennis
I make a delicious oxtail soup with soup greens. No corn starch or carbs added.
Eggs, cheeseburger and salads. It won’t have a choice but to go down ⬇️. Nuts too.
God Bless You Dennis. Thank you for sharing - I am grateful. My Blood Glucose Meter is also my best friend. I am recently T2D in remission (8 months). About 2 1/2 months ago, I went very low carb about 30-40 g a day. I see on the averages recorded in my meter coming down. I am so happy. I am curious to know if you test your insulin levels to provide you an HOMA-IR? It’s a measure of insulin resistance. If you measure this, does your insulin resistance come down too?
God Bless You, and thank you again.
I'm going to buy coconut flour this week. Thanks.
