- In this video I test the Autofocus of the Panasonic Lumix s5iix in the outdoors and show its image quality in a challenging scenario, in testing this camera I see that the autofocus as improved a lot with the latest firmware update and even tho this camera is still not perfect it has come along way from cameras as the gh5, s5 and the s1h. Panasonic Lumix cameras tend to get better as Lumix is nice enough to give us great things with the updates what is not the case with some other camera brands.
Gear used in this video:
Panasonic Lumix s5iix
Sigma 18-35 1.8 art lens
Sigma mc-21 adapter
Thank you for watching and give a Sub to the channel for more Panasonic Lumix camera content like this and videography content in general.

Color grading is awesome, audio design is pretty good and tests seem to validate lumix value propositions.... kudos dude
I really appreciate the comment, thank you 🙏
This is beautiful, crazy shots you got there!
Thank you
That's why I'm saving up for my first Lumix system.
They have done some great jobs on their camera models and it is truly impressive.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Totally agree! And thank you for stopping by 👍
Amazing video. What did you use for key light?
I love the colors... new sub here.
Thank you very much 😊🙏
Very nice images. Also great sound design. Good content . Very natural grade. .... What is the music? My Shazam doesn't tell me anything about how and where to find it...thanks
@@tigernock Thanks 🙏 I don’t remember the name now, but I will look it up and let you know, I got it from artlist.io
@@thatvideoguy4k thanks,I would appreciate it very much
I use a ton of different cameras for work and I shoot on a Z8 personally... I am astounded at the quality of the S5iix. We bought one for work, and it is a highly underrated camera. It simply doesn't get the love it deserves, and Panasonic stabilization is the best on the market hands-down.
well done man🔥
@@kenslyder Thank very much, I appreciate it 🙏
Hey! Great video. I didn’t realize you could use the Sigma 18-35 on full-frame bodies! I love it and use it with my Lumix MFT cameras. But since it’s a DC lens, meaning it’s built for APS-C sensors, doesn’t it fail to cover the full area of a full-frame sensor? Does that affect the image? Do you have to crop in, or how did you work around this? I’d really love to know-thanks in advance!
@@tomwylder Hey, thanks man, yes this lens is for aps-c but when you use it with a full frame camera it automatically go to super 35 crop mode, this scenario is not ideal but even with crop you still can great results and even tho I have other full frame lenses more often than not I still choose to use the sigma as I like the image and it balances very well on a gimbal
@@thatvideoguy4k Thanks, good to know! 😀
Hey, this are so nice shots, i love those mushrooms. I would like to ask a favor, could you hook me up somehow with the V-Log files of scenes at 0:03 and 0:48 or if its possible with more footage from this video would be extra cool. I just want to try and do a HDR 10 workflow in DaVinci on them to see how dynamic range looks, those scenes with the sun have nice highlights and i love at 0:48 hot the sun iluminates the ground. They will be used just by me, not making them public or anything else, after grading in HDR10 i will share them with you if you want to see how they ended up, they should look pretty good on an OLED display. Please?
Did you use ND filter when you were shooting in more light? Do you use shutter angle too?
Thank you for doing this. I am one of your follower. I am tempted to change to Lumix from Sony. This tests helps a lot but doing a side by side comparison with a Sony will be even better (I know it's tough). On a separate note, what do you think about Sigma FP compared to Panasonic S5iiX in terms of color grading?
Hey, thank you for being here, for me it's hard to say but in cases like this i always recommend that you maybe rend those cameras for a few days and see what suits your needs better, it will help you to make decision fast and maybe even save some money and time in the precess, good luck and thank you for stoping by.
What is the location? Love the verdant green energy
Thanks John, it’s just outside Stockholm Sweden
@@thatvideoguy4k Swedish forests look so cool; is this a temperate rainforest?
@@johntupper1369 I’m not sure, I just found out about this spot a few months ago and the best thing it only 25 minutes walk from my place so I will be recording more videos there for sure
Bro, I have 4 of these cameras 😮 how do you get that texture on your image ?!
hey bro, I do test after test with my grading, my channel here on youtube is mostly my tests that I decided to post, I don't have a secret just persistence in understanding it and get better, if figer out the secret believe me i will make a video about it, thanks you for watching man, I really appreciate
@@thatvideoguy4k Bro you have “it”…. If I could ever have a 10 call with you singularly about this and LUMIX please let me know. I’ll like to slow you some Films that have high regards yet personally I am trying to make the best overall product for my clients but I came from Canon to LUMIX and this part in concept had been challenging for me.
All in all, I salute you Brother.
I would guess he’s shooting all intra and a cranked shutter for added sharpness. He’s obviously in apsc mode. When I had that camera, the 1080 modes were very impressive
the autofocus is not perfect but it's not that much behind sony anymore, nice video.
Thank you very much, yes I think so too
Why did TH-camrs say when the Lumix S5 II got teleased, that the AF is as good and even better than Sony.
Why should i trust them, when they always exaggerate.
Please do a color grading video!!!
I might actually do a video on how I colour graded those shots 👍
@@thatvideoguy4k do you grade in davinci?
50 fps - 4K or FullHD no autofocus..(((
