No one underrated playmaking. If anything, playmaking as a whole is an overstated yet poorly understood concept. What "casuals" don't like are players who are good-great playmakers but can't make their own shot.
Crazy thing is averaging 10 doesn’t lead to winning championships only 2 players in nba history averaged 10 assists and went on to win a championship that’s magic and lebron two of the top 5 players of all time
If I ever have kids and they want to hoop I plan on teaching them this style of play as the blueprint. No matter how athletic you are you can always be effective in some capacity
4:51 hurt my heart as a pistons fan. here we are 2 years later, with cade which is f*cking fantastic don't get me wrong, but i still get nightmares about selecting killian over haliburton. it was SO OBVIOUS EVEN BACK THEN. smh, that back court would been disgusting, two incredible players with incredible, loyal mindsets. great call kyle
Aaron He definitely got better. Injuries, teamplay, and lack of opportunities given to him made those who don’t really follow the Lakers game by game think that he hasn’t improve a bit. But if you saw his performance on his rookie year compare to the glimpses that he showed (especially when Lebron was out), you will actually see the difference.
@@edmichaelalobog8886 disagree. I'd say he got worse with LeBron on the floor. He literally sat dead last in the entire NBA for percentage within 2 feet. That's horrifying given how bad of a shooter he is. He's a good defender. I don't ever see him as anything more than an above average roll player. Can't finish, can't shoot. Role players play D and pass. Not stars. He thinks he's a star. He needs a lot more game to be a star
Stewart, Grant, Cade, Bey and Hayes in 2 years could be contenders. They have a pretty good bench as well, and are all so young. All of those guys can play/guard about 3-4 positions. Crazy versatility. It’ll be interesting to see!
This dude is the real deal. All the finishing around the rim and shooting will come with experience and repetition. He’s gonna be fine and we’re gonna see a huge growth of shooting after his senior year
Love his game! He’s not too athletic like the best PGs in the NBA but he knows how to play. Saw him in person and he’s physically imposing. Better shooter than people give him credit for I think he can be an all star with the right people around him.
id love an i depth look at Ntilikinas play in the world cup and maybe one for each of the top rookies from this past draft once they've had enough time in the league
This guy is the best player in high school besides maybe Patrick Baldwin Jr. or Emoni Bates. Can you do Baldwin next, please? Sam Vecenie said he's one of the best "big shooters" he's ever seen.
Nice comments. The way the moves on the floor reminds me of Harden in the way he uses his own pace and doesn't let the defense speed him up. Dude scores in bunches, quick release on the shot. If there is any karma, given the year of destruction they've had, he'll be Rocket fuel.
Quality stuff again from Ben, here. You can see indeed he has panoramic vision and patience to wait before doing the inspired pass. He could think of playing in Europe and make money instead of college. Does he ?
Really ? The « dime drop « narrator and « thinking basketball » one is not the same ? Unless it’s the name that I have wrong. I understood it was Ben Taylor. I appreciate the work a lot but he seems to like his privacy ( don’t blame him i understand).
Not really all that irrelevant. Those 2k sims pull from some pretty solid cyber scouts lol. I've played through years and seen names years before they would make it to the league.
@@thedimedrop8153 no disrespect but sharife Cooper is league's above case Cunningham. Sharife is a mix of Cavs kyries mixed with Chris Paul (back when he was on the hornets). I'm sorry but it's not even close
Back after the case 40 piece I pray I’m one day rich enough to hire you full time and have you read every single thing around me in that angelic voice of yours sincerely, a fellow basketball nerd
I’m a Knicks fan and I have the same dilemma with Frank Ntilikina he’s such a great defender and passer that I don’t understand why he can’t get it together with his shooting and offense in general it’s puzzling 🤔
damn cool to see a dakari johnson shoutout. saw him play in a g league game and he was clearly the best player on the floor, he got moved up the next season but he was was on a team with 2 established bigs. sucks to see
That ref seriously called the spin move at 2:05 a travel lol. Sir you need to get with the times, this isn't the 80s. We need fluid movement in the game of basketball
I see people compare him to Lanzo Ball in the comments. But Lanzo is a transition passer at heart, I see him more like a Ricky Rubio coming in assist from pick and rolls and steals with many long 2's.
You just had to remind me of Rescue Rangers... Yes I remember the show too, but my daycare growing up had the NES cart, which was definitely designed by some cruel programmer, abused by the game programming business into taking out on us kids! 😏 ... and I'm so triggered I'm gonna thumbs up, subscribe and keep coming back for more for some reason because that's just how I grew up 🤣
Lonzo is a gifted passer, dont get me wrong, but he's still behind as a pick and roll ball handler. Cade already projects better in this specific part of passing the rock.
@@thedimedrop8153 Jalen is more athletic although Cade's shooting form doesn't show any red flags and Jalen's does Jalen is the better shooter he's better at attacking the basket I will give it to you Cade is a better passer but at times they both have defensive problems and both Cade and Jalen have tunnel vision going to the rim from time to time but Cade more often Jalen I wouldn't say Jalen is way better than but clearly off of the points I brought up and the eye test Jalen Green is better than Cade Cunningham
This is so good. Especially the Monterey Jack reference.
Wow TB
If the Dime Drop uploaded more often
He’ll have a Mill easy he’s so entertaining
Myles Teal i was literally gonna comment the same thing
I promise you casual basketball fans underrate play making unless somebody averaging 10 APG.
Run The Likes ????? Huh?
No one underrated playmaking. If anything, playmaking as a whole is an overstated yet poorly understood concept.
What "casuals" don't like are players who are good-great playmakers but can't make their own shot.
Then they act like averaging 10 assists is easy
Crazy thing is averaging 10 doesn’t lead to winning championships only 2 players in nba history averaged 10 assists and went on to win a championship that’s magic and lebron two of the top 5 players of all time
Dime Drop just signed a 4-year $38 million dollar contract with the Lakers
Tyler Speier mans is still underpaid
I would take 10% of that
If I ever have kids and they want to hoop I plan on teaching them this style of play as the blueprint. No matter how athletic you are you can always be effective in some capacity
Smart
Dime drop back with another banger💯
I like the dime drop so much I'll watch a breakdown of a kid I've never even heard of
I've been following his videos for the last few hours. He's really a joy to watch.

Glad to see Ivey get selected by Detroit. Seems like he should be a great fit next to cade
the whole time watching this video, i was thinking "so he's like... a good lonzo."
probably a cross between luka/lonzo/brandon roy. lonzo wasn’t good in PnR in HS/college.
@@thedimedrop8153 True, Lonzo is generally good fast break and dynamic passing.
Sounds like he has the same problems as lonzo. Difference is lonzo has had a couple years with NBA trainers and coaches yet hasn't gotten better

biggest problem was inconsistent shooting. One year later he's averaging 40% 3PT in NCAA
Hey Dime Drop, what do you think about Sharife Cooper (‘20 PG - McEachern HS, GA)?
Shoutout cade I played with him sophomore year at pangos all south camp
Another day, another Dime Drop. Life is good.
I missed this channel!
One of the best basketball channels on TH-cam. I always enjoy your videos.
Can't wait for more vids dude, I am always hyped when I see a new Dime Drop Video. WE NEED MORE UPLOADS!!!!!!
2:54 to 2:58 LeBron’s pass🔥🔥🔥
straight fire!
That was sick

Dime Drop is the best basketball content on youtube change my mind
This dude is the real deal. All the finishing around the rim and shooting will come with experience and repetition. He’s gonna be fine and we’re gonna see a huge growth of shooting after his senior year
Moarrrrrr Dime Dropsssss!
you my friend, just earned a subscription lol. great analysis man seriously.
Bro that lebron play against the hawks...
This is the best basketball commentary TH-cam channel. Bring on the subs bois
Your content is amazing
Love his game! He’s not too athletic like the best PGs in the NBA but he knows how to play. Saw him in person and he’s physically imposing. Better shooter than people give him credit for I think he can be an all star with the right people around him.
Very well put together video!!!!!
Thank you Ralph Sampson

love the analysis keep posting please!!
I agree and I love your stuff. Love the flowery way you describe basketball, haha. Big fan.
The content we need!
This video making genius got that Chris Vernon style Southern draaaaaawl going on!
Huge win over Baylor this week, and did some big time take charge scoring. Hope to see him continue to grow
This guy is the best player in high school besides maybe Patrick Baldwin Jr. or Emoni Bates. Can you do Baldwin next, please? Sam Vecenie said he's one of the best "big shooters" he's ever seen.
Imma need one on Brandon Boston or Shariffe Cooper
Another excellent video my friend 🙌
I have to admit, I laughed pretty hard picturing T. Boone Pickens excitedly mashing his hands together from his throne of $100 dollar bills!
RIP

Can you please do a breakdown on Jaden Hardy??? That kid is special on the offensive end
Please do one for Terrance Clarke
Quality stuff again from Ben, here.
You can see indeed he has panoramic vision and patience to wait before doing the inspired pass.
He could think of playing in Europe and make money instead of college. Does he ?
Names not Ben
It’s Ben Taylor the narrator, isn’t it ?
But not the author ?
Correct me if i’m wrong
Wrong channel bud

Unless it’s the name that I have wrong. I understood it was Ben Taylor. I appreciate the work a lot but he seems to like his privacy ( don’t blame him i understand).
Yes really, my name is Kyle Mann and his name is Ben Taylor. We are two separate human beings.
You could make a similar vid about Jalen Johnson. That kid can pass the rock. And is crazy long
Love it when you break down players on the high school level
Btw youre the best basketball youtuber and i love your content
Miss this channel
It's irrelevant, but I had him on my My league team with Zion and he was averaging some ridiculous numbers on Sim sliders
Not really all that irrelevant. Those 2k sims pull from some pretty solid cyber scouts lol. I've played through years and seen names years before they would make it to the league.
Dime drop you gave to do a vid on sharife Cooper!!!! Def the best point guard in high school
I just did a video on the best point guard in High school!

that comparison was on point.
This ‘everybody loves the sunshine’ flip is fire

It's a year until the NBA draft. Hear me clearly. Quote me. Come back to this video. Cade Cunningham is going to be a New York Knick
Finally someone talks about Cade that nigga so cold
I need to watch more Brandon Roy to see where that comparison keeps coming from
Let's get a Cole Anthony video, that dude is gonna come in and storm college and NBA mark my words
he’s definitely gonna be better than his pops
I’m a Knicks fan and I have the same dilemma with Frank Ntilikina he’s such a great defender and passer that I don’t understand why he can’t get it together with his shooting and offense in general it’s puzzling 🤔
Hope he watches this and it helps his game really interesting

Ummm how was that a travel at 1:58 ?
You should do a video on Terrence Clarke and Anthony Edwards
I see people compare him to Lanzo Ball in the comments. But Lanzo is a transition passer at heart, I see him more like a Ricky Rubio coming in assist from pick and rolls and steals with many long 2's.
That Ian Karmel chef kiss though.
This guy is what lonzo is in nba in high school stricky shot bad finisher good defender and good player maker
#BBN that dakari Johnson shoutout
Can you do a video on jalen green
Can you do RJ Hampton, Jalen Green
A perfect mix between Lonzo and Ben Simmons
Do one of these on lamelo
Reminds me of Fultz or B Roy

A future MVP
Best one yet #GoPokes
make one about jalen green or josh Christopher
Is this the same person from the ringer
Same dude
Dude you gotta make a video on Josh Green
Ive written about him, big fan
Brogdon-esque potential?
Maybe with a bit more of a knack for making reads , henceforth the right pass, but I'd say an apt comparison.
He developed into the #1 pick
Lonzo is a gifted passer, dont get me wrong, but he's still behind as a pick and roll ball handler. Cade already projects better in this specific part of passing the rock.
Kyle Tran he’s behind because his midrange is non existent
please do a deni avdija vid
the next grant hill
Do one on Jalen Green next
More videos pls, pls pls
Damn you mentioned Haliburton way before he became a known name
do brandon boston jr. 🔥
Sounds like Lonzo 2.0
He looks way more coordinated and stable then Lonzo.
Lonzo was never that dynamic of a PnR ball handler tho, he always used his shooting range as his biggest source of leverage
A more pass-first oriented Paul pierce or Brandon Roy
Desi Lol he’s going to be what Lonzo was meant to be
Gotta do Jon Kuminga
He back
So Lonzo 2.0 or Ben Simmons 2.0?
ThisIsMrJ Neither; Brandon Roy meets Luka Doncic or maybe even Paul Pierce
better shooter and scorer already. more like an upgrade of Lonzo
More athletic and bigger Kyle Lowry ?
The small clips when describing the player are too strong 💯
Do Josh Christopher
Please do Antoine Davis!! One of the best players in the country
He s called anthony
Matz G ANTOINE Davis lead the nation in scoring at university Detroit
Do sharifs cooper next please
We need a sharife cooper video 🔥
I was with you until you said he's the best in 2020, have you heard of Jalen Green?
