      No. Like. I know why it happens. It's just annoying that the game is unable to partially reveal enemies. It's either all or nothing. If my dude was able to see half of the enemy in the door to his front it would have been fine.

      The top guy definitly triggered the angle before the bottom guy could cover him. Even if the game is weird about partially revealing enemies, the enemy could have been further down the room and your operator would still be dead just by moving a little ahead and exposing his flank without his wingman cornering. You can clearly see the bottom guy only pies about a third of the room. Game is punishing lack of precision like that, that's what makes it good. The successful run was really fucking good though.

      @@GanjirahTheDoorKicker Agreed, it's definitely on CPG, I cried for a good minute when I saw how exposed the top operator was, and when he aimed the bang in the middle of the room I was like 'dude, if there was anyone on the right side of that room your guy would be dead already'. smh

      Is the door still acts like a solid object when it's open? I mean, when it's closed, you can't phase through it but what if it's open? can you phase through it? Because as we can see, that door is open and you can see through it as if it's not there. I think the game codes makes the open door "inactive" and becomes just a visual and not an actual game object...

    Nice to see some of my tips helping you in this mission. There's a weird quirk with the executioners where they're unable to execute hostages if said hostages are in smoke. A very unrealistic tactic, but maybe it'll help you. Who knows?

      In the "Against The Odds" mission you can create a corridor with smoke from the bottom gate and run it, grab the hostage and run out .. then you just need to make sure the executioner doesn't move to another hostage and the map is a simple clear-out from there

    Many thanks to CPG to turning me onto this game. Lots of fun. Finally got my 3 stars on every level & CPG definitely helped. Hadn't played a swat Sim since Swat, during aim days. Not every video will help you 3 star, but knowing what to expect and learning tactics will.

    Me: you should use suppressed guns on these missions to help avoid triggering the executioner... its a tool the game gives specifically to use on these situations.
    Pairs: I wont use a suppressed mp5 because in real life you can hear it next door and "just because the game allows you to get away with that nonsense doesnt mean we're gonna take advantage of it or exploit it."
    Also Pairs: I dont want to kill this terrorist in front of his buddies and trigger the executioner... so Im gonna hide and ambush this guy around the corner as per my real life doctrine on how to know exactly what triggers terrorists who only rely on line of sight but not sound...

    don't be fooled by the '9mm AP' designation, the SR-3M fires the same cartridge as the AS VAL (9x39), being based off it.
    in other words, it fires a cartridge that's against the UN Laws of War for being too overpowered and inhumane against human opponents.

      The one thing that bugs me the most is reloading terrorists, a Ranger will actually stand and watch him reload and aim before taking him out (and sometimes doesn't if the terrorist is in cover)

    You could *almost* accuse the level designer of using an "exploit". Having just glass between the executioner and his buddies, who are in LoS of the assaulters the moment they breach.
    In real life situations, from the few I've read about, real hostage takers are simply not laser focussed on killing hostages the very moment shit goes down. This kinda level is a bit too much "keep running it 'til you roll sixes" for my taste.

    Unpopular Opinion: the new rebalance is actually hot fucking garbage. The game was challenging and lots of fun, and mostly believable, if not exactly realistic. Now, they’ve dialed all of the annoying shit, legacy problems dating back to the first game, and thrown in infuriatingly OP enemies with god-tier situational awareness AND accuracy AND reflexes. It’s not fun to play anymore. I disabled updates for it on my laptop just to keep it playable.

    This was a tough one. I had a hard time using the rangers. Finally used the CIA guys and snuck all the way to the outside balcony and opened up with flashes and gunfire. 2 awesome seconds of violence of action.

      I think realistically in a counter terrorsism situation, as apposed to a war time operation, you'd send at least a platoon to such a scenario; think of Operation Nimrod (the Iranian Embassy Siege) there was about a platoon sized element of SAS all for 6 terrorists and 26 hostages. So it all depends on the size of the building, but even a building like this I'd expect either 2 or 3 entry points with a fireteam on each point.

      The context matters. In a civilian law enforcement setting, you’re talking hundreds. Officers from the entire region would show up, set up command posts and an operational control center. You’d have helicopters, snipers, medics staged nearby, etc. as for the number of guys actually making entry, as many as you possibly could. Probably at least 20.
      Overseas, in a special operations setting, again the context would matter. Are you doing this in a friendly, or a hostile country? Assuming it’s a war zone like Afghanistan or Iraq, you’d have probably thirty or forty Rangers and/or Marines acting as your perimeter and isolation elements on the streets around the building, and possibly holding the floors above and below. And as many tier ones as you could get in time, probably at least a dozen.
      In any setting, if all you had was three guys (and ostensibly a fourth observer providing non-combatant over watch on that balcony), you simply wouldn’t do it. There’s absolutely NO WAY you’d risk getting the hostage killed trying to fight an enemy with literal overwhelming numbers on their side. This absolutely would not happen in real life.

Not talking about numbers, this is assuming in this scenario you'd have support teams, ops, intel, a full entry team ect.

      @@Living_Target Numbers are THE reason why you wouldn't do it in the scenario depicted in the game. Too many tangos and not enough time to get through the morass with your three guys from a single entry point. To make a move on the hostage is basically a death sentence for the hostage (and probably your guys). You wait for sufficient resources or for them to attempt to move the hostage to another location, whereupon you're still most likely waiting for more people anyhow (unless the enemy element do something truly stupid). The only way you'd attempt this is if you were the only three on scene, for whatever bizarre reason, and you knew with absolute certainty that the hostage was about to be killed whether you tried it or not. And in the case of the the last unlikely possibility, there might even be a discussion of whether or not the one hostage was worth endangering three other lives, along with the unknown further civilian presence.

    14:41 the foreign advisor just dumps a mag into the QRF guy in the top right and it doesn't register. This level seems to have brought out some of the issues with the game.

    First look I lost all three assaulters by trying to single plan it. Didn't even get that far beyond the threshold.
    On the third, got fortunate as I dropped the Foreign Advisor out of LOS of the executioner. Breached the wall from the print room (laterally), had pulled back after placing the charge. It blew the door into the main office as well. Caught 4 of them, plus the executioner in a crossfire.
    I got lucky. Wonder if using the SAD guys, you can get right on top of them?

    On the first problem I'd plan it more like a high-speed H/R thing than combat clear, because you've cleared all the way from primary entry to hard opposition and the timer's gonna run down once you breach. Flow and plug doors straight to the stimulus, because the hostage is very close to being shot. The breach flashes I would do one close, one long, one left. For the flow I'd draw one bound direct to the final threshold, each flank man rolls each threat he passes on his side as he goes. (EDIT: Center man holds long). Its even more dicey that what you did, but it shaves seconds off the time to stimulus.
    If micromanaging without single plan, Id draw a single push up to each opposed threat and split plug, then draw next push. Looks like two bounds before the final room breach with right man covering down the open threshold during the breach. I'd probably eat a wipe out but well, IDK how do make it any faster without totally ignoring threat areas.

    3 Rangers, suppressed M4's, dynamic hammer ... clear top/bottom, then mid ... clear lower middle room, open RH door and throw flash through the glass door end enter. Other guy goes in sync'd through wooden door while last guy follows the flash-guy into the room but takes room and lower room

    Yea I played this random gen map and had to clear it with only 2 assulters. Gave them mp5sds cuz the diff lvl was 8 so I knew I was in for it. It had some close moments but patients paid off.

    Got this game for myself now and damn i have a long way before i get CQB Right. One map there was a short and wide hallway where we need to go through a double door I went with 2 opening the door and 2 where cross covering. Though it went well may have been a bad idea to stare in the hallway

    It is way easier to use the CIA , since there is no restricted areas, and the counter of nonsense being even more nonsense (especially since the hushpuppy was added along.with thse maps).

    Honestly. Joined the Army a few weeks ago as a reserve. Spent time reading up tactics and testing them in the game. They work somehow too well
