    Not sure if you took them, but there's a flat nose 9mm ammunition option for the submachine guns that make them a little better at medium range. Good compromise between suppressed and bringing a carbine.

    This game plays some very strange antics that are often hard to get your head around.
    For instance, on one map you may throw smoke and that is enough to alert the AIs. Yet on others, like this one, tossing smoke in front of large uncovered windows of a display room full of bad dudes does nothing.
    I chose not to use smoke on this map for fear of it triggering the alarm.

      I dont know but I think the enemy AI can be (not) "combat ready" by default. On many maps they are all armed and dont scream "they're here!" when they hear noise and on some maps they dont even carry their weapons with them

      If you go to the editor, you can set AIs to have different alert levels. The time of day also sets different alert levels to the enemies in my experience. So it's more like they cna't see the smoke since its already dark outside.

      Yeah! I'm aware of the different alert levels. But that is of little comfort in prepping an assault unless a player is in the habit of checking out all of the parameters in the Editor before starting their plan.
      However I am not so convinced about your theory on the time of day/night as the Phase III - Secure map is also a night time map and if you throw smoke at the southern end to mask crossing the gap, the alarm will be raised.

      @@tassie7325 Maybe it was just a coincidence for me 🤔But I've been asking the devs for clearer explanation for game mechanics so that we could create our "perfect" plans. So hopefully the final version clears a lot of things out for us!

    Dude, been playing for 4, 5 months or so, cause just accidentally stumbled upon one of your early DK2 CQB Tactics breakdowns. Appreciate your vibes and skill that you passionately include in your content. I've been wondering how crazy cool it would be to hear more about real life combat that perhaps you personally experienced, based on map situations. It would add to DK2 becoming more and more realistic and tough, as the devs keep exploring possibilities and having a good road map.     That initial approach was amazing and masterful! I would have loved to see you check the windows with the cover team a split second before entry- it could have saved the entry team!

    You knew and stated that you suspected a gunfight yet you sent 3 of the team through a very narrow area of great danger, I am surprised that you did not lose them all instantly, your two guys south should have breached the double door simultaneously to add to the internal confusion and give you the firepower of 5 in that space.

      Maybe once I've finished the whole play through. I really like the blind looks. Replaying levels many times just seems disingenuous

    Well done! Tough map...I’m still dealing with it. Can get 2/3 done but either the center or right room will kill a hostage on me. As you said...tough but fun

    Honestly, that last update kinda broke the game for me. Its like all the enemies turned into special forces and all my guys became absolute rookies overnight.

      I see what you mean, but in my opinion it makes it so much more realistic and tactical to play. Previously, I would rush my men into a room and fail to clear a corner, an enemy starts shooting at one of them and even though I made a mistake, and the enemy got the upper hand, my guy would just whip towards him and shoot him. Too unrealistic for my taste, I’m glad they updated it 😁

      @@elliotolson5335 I somewhat agree with you. The mechanic itself is great and makes it more realistic, I just think they did not get the balancing right. For example: that scene where Pairs breached the showroom and immediately got overwhelmed because his guys coundn't react any more because of the suppression, even though they had the element of surprise. That feels unrealistic to me and also makes the game unfair. Because, at the end of the day, it's still a game.

      Suppression should definitely decrease accuracy, but it shouldn't completely pin down and freeze your guys as if they never got shot at before in their lives. Losing total control of one of your units seemingly at random isn't good gameplay.

      @@alexmdoe7102 the way is works now is being suppressed only decreases their effectiveness, but when your pinned you are a sitting duck. Correct? I like the suppression but I am also kind of against the being “pinned” mechanic

    Kind of crazy when you think about it. This video is 30+ minutes long of planning for 2 minutes of real time. Gives you an idea about the kind of planning that goes into real life situations and how quickly everything develops

    So how is nobody else talking about that INSANE bit of marksmanship (and maybe a bit of luck) at 18:22??? Guy lets loose a single burst of 3-4 rounds in a crowded room full of insurgents and hostages…and lands every single one into the insurgents in a near perfect line for him, dropping 3 dudes with one burst, in like less than a second👀. Mans was John Wick for a bit

    When I played this map, the executioner was at the very right building and always kept executing hostages when I was compromised. I decided to throw away realism and just smoked my entire path to run to it and kill the executioner in all three buildings at the same time 😂

      this took me quite a few tries with the same problem, he always died around the 40 sec mark for me. Ended up going quiet rush to the right with a 4 man group all with MP5SDs covered by snipers. As soon as i reached the door, i went in with bang, rushed the room with 2 guys leaving 2 outside for security. Saved the first guy there, then cleared right to left surrounding the enemy, keeping 2 guys on the top road, flashbanged bad guys from the top to distract them while rushing the main entrance and glass windows.

      I think CPG got lucky on this run, cos I had the same issue, as soon as any contact was made and the alert went out, the RHS executioner would shot his hostage.
      I had to tweak my plan to prioritise cover for that hostage. Run to the small angled dead space out the RHS of the main building and frag the doors so I could cover the executioner. The rest went smooth for me after that.

    I think your critical error here was not having your marksmen move into position *before* you had your men breach. Both those first two casualties could have been avoided if you'd had your fire position in place to cover the breach.
    That said, I do think this update needs some serious rebalance work. Your men will just stand there getting shot at by people they can see without returning fire.

    How do you do the thing we’re you click once and your guys aim at that spot for the entire duration of those movement. It appears as a dotted line with a pizza looking arrow at the end. I know how to do the left click of a way point but this is different. Great work I have no idea how you are so good at this.

      Hold Shift, right click on a point where you want him to start, then drag out to where you want him to look to.

    I had SO much trouble on this. Executioner on that room kept seeing me or hearing my flashbangs or something. Maybe their awareness changed but i found i couldnt throw a flash within like 20m of that room

    Might be some incongruence between 1.Give everyone silenced guns. and 2. The plan is to use giant explosives.
    Having already played this mission I was amazed the executions didn't go off at the 40MM right next to mechanic hut.

    Been dealing enjoying your DK2 vids! I've been playing for about 2 weeks on & off. Can you PLEASE do a shirt video on the meaning of the icons? Let's say you do Random Map, make your picks, then hit GO. On the next screen, where you pick your Rangers, you see the 20 Members there on the right. As you Mouse Over each one, a small window opens. Can you please go over what each one means? Keep the awesome vids coming! You know, you do your videos in a very stylistic approach --using the drawing on screen to go over strategy and pausing every few seconds is very cool! You should have alot more members than you do now.

    Fun map, MP5s was a strange choice though. Did you know that enemies have alternate spawn points? every replay feels different it's pretty neat.

    Some day these Rangers will realize that companies make suppressors for other guns than MP5s. Want cans on the ARs and SCARs, same with all the classes. Would love to have a GL SCAR. Also I THINK they teech Rangers to climb fences too.

    I think CPG had a lucky run. For me the alert on first contact would cause the executioner on the RHS of the map to kill the hostage, so my second run had to deal with this as a priority.
    Not sure why CPG's executioner acted differently. RNG I guess, but still weird as my consistently went that way.

    Is their a reason when prepping rooms with hostages you always aim the bang at a hostages head, even when doing do means you lose room coverage? Is that some technique they teach in RL? I could see multiple RL reasons why this might be advantageous, but as far as I have seen you never explain this, and I have seen you do this more than once (but maybe I am forgetting all the times you did not follow this rule).
    I don't know about anyone else, but I dislike the large team levels. The game just slows down and gets boring to me with 8 people, but watching CPG I feel like I move too many of my men at the same time, when waiting for enemies to respond and come controlled corners might be more effective. But I also feels like these would be a way to select multiple units at the same time and move them.

      IRL they teach to place the bang just inside the door, so they turn away from it as you enter.
      The affect radius is too small to be realistic. None of these rooms are big enough that someone without eye and war pro wouldn’t be affected.
