Seeing how TruePlay influences the sound would have been interesting to see as well. You could try putting both of them in a corner of a room or in an echoey bathroom and see how they perform and whether TruePlay compensates for the extra boominess in the bass that comes from the reflections off of the walls. Great video nonetheless, one of the better comparisons.
Highs, mids and clarity of the Roam are great but I found it quite disappointing that the low bass sounded somewhat muffled on it. Great product, but for it’s price I expected more. What about you?
I love Sonos products have many at home but was slightly disappointed in the move and was hopefully for the roam but bought two JBL flip 5s for $180 ($90 a piece at Walmart) which gives me a stereo pair over Bluetooth (where the roam cannot) and ride with this when I’m on my EUC. Sucks that they dropped the ball yet again.
Love the sonos roam video's. Im getting kinda obsessed with this speaker and really dont know if I should buy it. Already have one sonos speaker in my house. But the priceeee...... 50$ too much...
Get it bro. I got mine yesterday and after watching some reviews i was gonna send it back the next day but after listening to it. Nah its really different listening personally than relying in reviews as it doesnt really show the real capabilities of speakers on review. Very clear , loud and the bass is not much but tight mate.
The flip 5 is the best in my opinion. I've owned the boom and currently own the tribit. For the money the tribit can't be beat but the flip is better though it costs twice as much
Thanks for your work. Can you compare WiFi audio vs bluetooth audio? I am quite sure you compared bluetooth audio between the two which is not fair to Roam. Via WiFi, Roam actually plays lossless audio.
I have the flip 5 and listened to the sonos tonight. The flip is better and way better for the money if you only consider sound quality. Only way the roam makes sense is if you have the ecosystem or space is at an ultra premium
I prefer the sound of the Sonus quite a lot. As wireless tech is so reliable now it seems odd that manufacturers are only making these compact single units. I would like to see a product comprised of two small speakers that can be spaced apart for decent stereo sound.
@@Francispia yea I'm a fan of more balanced sound than heavy bass that sacrifices clarity. Any speaker can do that really. Only time this may not be true is when I'm watching an action movie lol

honestly in comparison it wins indoors sonos but what is for both uses both outside and inside a room would win the flip 5

Great video. I think all bt speakers need separate tweaters for the best sound quality
Agree!
JBL Charge 5 heard you loud and clear :)
JBL Flip 6
you need more battery capacity for that...or just get a bigger bt speaker.

@@TeslaLegion I bought the roam, amazing speaker
Could you tell me what you think is the best sounding small speaker? (Think of Wonderboom 2, Flare 2, Emberton, JBL flip, Tribit Maxsound plus etc.)
The flip 5 is the best in my opinion. I've owned the boom and currently own the tribit. For the money the tribit can't be beat but the flip is better though it costs twice as much
Flip 5 more bass i love
More bass doesn't always mean better base
Nope

So if you should pick one of those speakers according all the features which one would be?
JBL Flip 5, louder, more durable, cheaper
Hi, can you send the link and info for that charging pad. thanks
Can you make a video about the best speakers for your PC setup ?
Klipsh are by far the best PC speakers I've heard
Why would I skip or flip a foam roam? Shouldnt i Bose a nose.
Should actually be testing the ROAM vs THE JBL LINK PORTABLE . Then you on the same playing field regarding spec.
Link portable isnt waterproof, sonos has much more features.
Not to nitpick but that Flip 5 really needs to be horizontal.
It's a single driver speaker. Shouldn't matter much if any
@@crk140 for the passive radiator ;) not the speaker himself
@@Skybleiz_Qc gotcha
The fact that the Sonos doesn’t have a 3.5 plug option is a bummer!
JBL Flip 5, have 50% more volume then Sonos Roam? 😳
Yup!
I heard 15%…. Not 50%?
@@zorrilnz I need answers...
@@aggaviriyo790 15 if you misheard you can verify it’s 15 as jbl is set to 35% and roam at 50% difference is 15%
the sonos sounds so much clearer than the flip 5
New style..👍

Interested in Sonos vs minirig

I totally agree with your comment. Stereo separation sounds far seperior!
JBL Flip 5 👏🏼
The Flip 5 is stood on one of it's woofers that are at either end. Needs the test rerun.
Sonos vs tribot stormbox pls
Sonos sounds like there’s no bass at all. JBL has a much richer sound. At least that’s how it sounded on my iPhone speaker.
there’s bass
but the flip 5 has a better bass
i’m gonna choose the flip 5 over the sonos roam

I always go jbl because they last longer imo
Yoooo, Aaron out here listening to Unlasting noice
it would be better that You could play decent sound quality music…
Sonos❤️❤️❤️
flip 5 is better for me
Spiffy haircut.
Sonos all the way 😂
😅
Yea no
The jbl has better bass ... other than that, they're identical in sound profile
